I have used this product for 25+ years wear a 114E the V5 feels slightly larger have used the 1205 insert for years no longer available had to get a different one. This shoe and insert had cured my metarsalgia, but with V5 it is back. Time will tell, but this is not the V4 or previous versions.

Negative I didn't like the color returned them but i have not Been given crefit for them. So I can purchase another color

I would never again buy shoes online despite the ability to exchange by mail. These shoes were too large and too wide amd too heavy. I figured it out too late, ie after wearing them two days. Wide apparently is EE. If I knerw there was an E size that might have been better but don't think that was on the website. Store where they have my sizing record was closed due to COVID. You need to try shoes on..

The build quality is good, but it's bulky and way too heavy. I like the look but won't buy again.

I didn't find these as comfortable as others did. Disappointed for the price that I paid. I've found other brands to be more comfortable for less. I'm also not sure that there is a need to round up half a size, either. Good luck.

Enjoy the support for walking and general use. Worn 990 for years, new pair every year. What I didn't like was the limited supply in the colors. Placed order but received a different color. I can live with it, just disappointed.

Have AAA foot width, Shoe is too wide. 847v3 top collapses on top toes causing severe pain, terrible design Need to make 847 AAA again

I have exclusively worn New Balance since 2001 when I joined the army. I have put thousands of mile on New Balance shoes and these are the least comfortable ones I have ever worn. The padding in the ankle area is too much and rubs the wrong way. I would equate the feeling to how it feels when you wear the fabric off the heel from not loosening your shoes to put them on and off; and the plastic digs into your back ankle. This uncomfortable feeling is what I feel even though there is no exposed plastic. The inner and out ankle feel this way. I wish they would bring back the USA 991. Those were my PT shoes when I enlisted and they have been my favorite. I would pay $400 plus for USA 991 like from 2001. I have resorted to the purchasing the UK version from third party vendors. It is a shame that New Balance USA does not make them. These are my third pair of the 990 series. I had a v3 and v4. They seem to continually get less comfortable as the newer versions come out. These shoes do have a very comfortable souls and I would guess that aspect has not changed much.

I've been wearing the NB 990v series for about ten years because I have wide feet and they're the most comfortable shoe I could find. They definitely change the feel of the shoe. Now it has a much more soft cushiony feel, with less support. Which I HATE!

Shoe is well made and i did not mind paying a premium for an American made product. Unfortunately they are not comfortable at all. The highter end NB shoes designed with foam support are much more supportive and comfortable.

I am disappointed with the 990v5 as NB narrowed the heel (for so-called stability purposes) to the point that my achilles tendons are being irritated. I am currently running in my old pairs of 990v4 until I can find a suitable replacement.

The soles of both shoes are coming off the shoes with less than 3 weeks wear and although they are comfortable this is discouraging to me considering the 990v4 lasted much longer

I had the 991, the 992, the 993 and the 990 V4. Every time I bought a new model, I had the feeling of an improvement. But now, when I bought the 990 V5, for the first time I must admit that the shoe is worse compared to the former model. The ortholite inserts are awful, because they make you sweat a lot and the stability feeling is bad. In general, the stability is not that good as known from the 990 V4.

I have been a NB client since the late 90s - yes I am that old. I need a wide shoe with a wide toe box, and of course I am going to buy USA made. This shoe was the worst pair I bought since the late 90s. It does not provide enough room in the toe, it does not feel sturdy like the other 15+ shoes I have bought from NB, and I bought online because in went into the store, but the employee was unable to actually help me. I have been soooooooo happy with NB for so long, but I am so unhappy with this shoe.

While the shoes are comfortable, I do not enjoy wearing them for two reasons: 1. They are incredibly heavy, so very heavy. 2. There is not any ventilation and my feet get too hot, as in flaming hot. So, if I wear them at all, they will be shoes for cold winter days.

The shoelaces are still so long. I am so tired of double knotting my laces or dragging them through the dirt, water and whatever else is on the ground.because nb cannot bother to offer two lengths for shoelaces, one length for a size mens10 to 16 and one size for mens size 9 to 5?, whatever the smallest manes size is available. Seriously over 10 years of double knotting

I stand on my feet all day and need an all leather shoe for work. This is a very comfortable shoe however, that comfort doesn't last very long due to a very poor insole that flattens out in no time.

I would say this shoe runs narrow in a way that is both uncharacteristic of the brand and fairly unforgiving. I can usually get away with regular width, but in this shoe the support features in the instep cut into the side of my foot. This makes them almost unwearble, seriously disappointing experience.

I have bought and worn, the 990 series for years (going back to 2001) and it was the only shoe that would hold up especially if you are on yout feet in a retail job. I bought these recently and thought they felt good, but after a month or so, I started to feel differently on my feet. I look and they no longer have Abzorb cushing in them and it shows. NB big fail on the shoes. I will have to research ones that have it or find a new brand :-(
