I love the look and wear of the shoes. They are comfy and I do a good amount of walking in them. Unfortunately the sole wore down very quickly and anytime I'd wear them the sole would breakdown and get all over my sock. Had to stop wearing them after only 4 months

My traditional (1960's) foot size was 7.5 EEE. I have been purchasing Size 8 EEEEEE from new balance and basically they have provided a wonderful fit. With this latest purchase the shoe seems a little tighter than previous. Also the height in the tows are a little less that previous causing some slight discomfort. Just wondering why you have adjusted your sizing. It appears I may have to jump the size to 8.5 which will leave shoe a little loose at the heel.

Average shoe with huge price. Very disappointed with shoe

I tried several pairs of these shoes but the sizing is off and inconsistently there are thread frays and wrinkles on the toe box. Not what I expected for a 150+ dollar shoe made in the USA

The 990v5 is outstanding looks-wise, but the comfort level has dropped some from the 990v4. The footbed seems to be thinner than the v4 and my feet start hurting much more quickly.

I went to the new balance store and was fitted with 8 wide. I wore them for over a month in hopes my feet would get use to them. I trusted the measurements they took knowing in my adult life I have never wore a wide shoe. I decided to order an 8 regular on line since I could no longer wear the 8 wide's. These fit perfect and I can wear them at work and my feet feel great. Now what to do with the old er ones that I paid for that I can't wear.

I purchased these to use on cement. I do lots of walking and standing. These were decent, but I found that my feet were hot. Having purchased numerous shoes from different brands now trying to find the perfect one, I found after three different pairs from New Balance that New Balance is the ONLY brand that sends its shoes unlaced. While this may seem to be a small inconvenience, it is definitely an irritation to me.

I have worn New Balance footwear for many years. The fit, the construction and the support are hallmarks of the brand. Unfortunately, this most recent purchase had a quality control issue ... the upper lace holes on the right shoe were not opened through on the lining.

Walk 5 times a week. Good shoe for my body type. Didn't have color I wanted.

I have some nerve damage in my back that affects my foot. I heard these shoes were incredibly comfortable. I purchased them and they are indeed great shoes, but I have had other shoes that were just as comfortable for $50 cheaper. I'll be getting more affordable shoes in the future.

I'm a large person who needs lots of support and stability. This shoe did not work for me.

Need to have a light grey shoe lace not white. How can I get light grey?

I got these shoes for walking my dog four-to-five miles seven days and to wear to my part-time job 3-to-4 hours a day four days a week. They are adequate and no more than that but it would be unfair of me not to qualify why I say that. I suffered nerve damage from a series of backpacking trips carrying too much weight five years ago that have left me with a certain degree of numbness in my feet. These shoes are an improvement over my older Vasque hiking shoes that were wearing out, particularly with regard to the degree of cushion they provide. Where they fall down is in the degree of support. When I first got these I hesitated and nearly returned them but decided to give them a chance. I have wound up getting another pair of sturdier walking shoes from another American retailer to use more regularly than these and will use these for lighter duty. They're decent shoes but if you're 68 years old fighting numbness like me they may not be the ones you need. I know this review doesn't apply to everybody which is why I wrote it the way I did. At the same time I suspect it does apply to some people. Ditto.

For the quality of show that we received , the price is way too high .

Awesome looking shoe. Especially (Made in America). Could not find a single retailer that carries MIA New Balance. Even though saw a bunch of ads. Cost is considerably more than other NB shoes. Willing to pay if it keeps US workers employed.

I have been buying the 990 in size 14AA but they are no longer available in narrow. The fit on the 14D is sloppy

I had a pair of this model years ago. There is more mesh in the latest design and they just don't seem as well made.time will tell.

I have never paid this much for sneakers before Or any shoe only a hiking boot once. I have orthopedic inserts ,I put them in but not sure the fit is that great. Only wore once in the house .5 mins. I am going to the store in Skowhegan for other size options.

I have been buying the 990 for 20 years because it comes in narrow .... i stocked up at one time and had three extra pairs. All three degraded and came apart literally when i pulled them out of my closet and wore them! Moral of the story the shoe quality is poor but good if you wear them immediately and then they can last up to one year!!

I've worn 2E 990 since they were available. I get this version and they fit very sloppy. Not happy with the change at all especially with the price.

I was hoping for a shoe more like the 928 v3, except in black. I could find that so I tried these but they are a little narrower in the toe. Length is fine. Due to health reasons that doesn't work for me.
