I just recently bought these shoes. For the past 10 years I've worn nothing but tac boots due to my job. With that being said I've always had problems finding a pair of shoes that don't make my feet hurt when walking around for an extended amount of time. The slight cant from the heel to toe ratio mimics exactly what I wear in my boots which to me is comfortable. I naturally run hot and my feet never over heated while wearing these even through Disney world in Orlando Florida. I know the tread is aggressive and meant the trail running but even on hard surfaces such as concrete these were very nice for me. I 10 out of 10 recommend these shoes for anyone like me that has to wear tac boots for their job on the daily. Like the title states these are beyond comfortable.

Instant love when I put them on. Wow, I just had to go for a run right away. These shoes fit so well and put a spring in my step. I got these to wear in my first Rugged Maniac race. I'm going to feel awful when they get all muddy but I believe I'll get over it when the incredible traction saves me.

Fits like a glove…REALLY! I am a novice runner, 15 to 20 miles of trail running a week. I only run trails because of back and knee issues or the joy of being in your 60s?. I had a couple of bouts with planter fasciitis and have been searching for more arch support for running (All my daily wear shoes are Oboz). I’ve tried lots of brands from Hokas (way to soft. Like running with pilllows on my feet, making my feet numb) to Merrel’s Agility series (great feel and agility but not enough support) and finally the Merrel MQM Flex, which was quite good with more support and cushion. Then I tried the Solomon Speedcross 5. All I can see is WOW!! Totally support and comfort beyond anything I’ve experienced. I even ran in the rain and my feet didn’t get wet. Just slide your foot in you’ll understand what I mean. The heel is a bit high for me, and before I took them for a run I thought it would give me less control, like the Hoka Speed Goats did, but it was a non issue. My heel is snug and I feel in control like I did in the Merrels. I not a fan of speed laces in general, but so far so good. I am so glad I tried these Speed Cross 5s!

Perfect fit right out of the box. My wife and I have worn Speedcross for several years (since speedcross 3) and we love them. We even turned our Veteran son on to them. He wore them when he was on the Special Reaction team in the army. He still wears them today, as a police officer. I wear them for work (construction) the wife wears hers for mountain hikes.

This Is my third pair of speedcross 5's. I live in the muddy side of the east coast and especially on steep downhills these shoes give me confidence to go faster than I should greatly reducing my number of falls.... in fact you could say eliminating falls. Also I never considered the comfort of a shoes upper.... until I tried a pair. Again steep downhills where your toes are crammed forward into the toebox.... shoe holds you from sliding to front of shoe. They do wear a little fast as far as the 8mm lugs are concerned especially if your trail runs take you on road sections. So I just buy another pair in different color. Best med trail shoe that is still comfortable. Better than innov 8 for comfort and Hoka speedgoat for mud.

I've been running trails in these for a month and must say they are an improvement over previous years. The wider toe box is awesome!!

These shoes are perfect for running on trails. They smooth out stones, roots & grab traction through mud & wet grass. This has helped prevent bruised arches & heels. Glad I bought them!

I hike in the mountains so I need a shoe that doesn't rub or crowd my toes, whether I'm going uphill or down. Also, I need a shoe that will grip well on loose rock and dry soil. This shoe does well on my hikes because the toe box is wide enough to prevent toe rubbing, the shoe is narrow enough to prevent my feet from shifting and then crowding the front of the shoe when going downhill, and the knobby sole grips well. I'm also picky about stitching on the top of a shoe, I don't want to feel it or get rubbed by it, and the stitching on this shoe is almost unnoticeable.

I bought my first pair a few years ago and they were the best. I just bought my second pair for some training last month and I'm getting another pair next month.

I've loved the Speedcross shoes but have had issues with the durability of the lugs and the narrow fit in the past. This model is great!

This is my 4th pair of Salomon SpeedCross and they're the best version yet. My caveat for this review is that I'm not a long distance runner. I have used them for trail running and light hiking (10-15 miles), but I generally use these for daily wear at work. They're great for tactical entries and for range work. The traction is great in just about any condition. The improvements in the comfort of the footbed, the durability of the outsole and traction, and the new quick release on the lacing system continue to make these my go-to shoes for just about everything. It doesn't hurt that they look awesome, too. Historically, I get 11-13 months out of the soles before they wear flat. Time will tell with the new ones. Minor Cons: I've found that the previous versions aren't great for standing for any length of time on cold ground, and plan to try the GoreTex ones this fall and winter. Also, all of my Speedcross soles squeak like crazy on tile and linoleum, but they aren't designed for a bunch of indoor wear, so I don't stress it too much.

I'd read from other retailers that these shoes run large, but my usual 10 was a perfect fit. Shoes are very comfortable right out of the box. The cleats are aggressive, but great traction on soft, loose terrain. Magnet (grey) look good. They're so comfortable I'd wear them everywhere, but for the cleats being so long. They are a bit heavy for running, but think of them as lightweight boots & enjoy.

I bought these for my husband. Salomon shoes are his favorite. He wears them for work, as he’s on his feet all day and wanted something comfortable and supportive, yet stylish. He does use his own insoles, which fit nicely in the shoe.

This is my second pair of the Speedcross 5, one gortex one not and I have to say for me it's the perfect shoe. The fit is flawless, true to size and feels like glove. The grip is amazing and the toe box just right for my feet. I've run them in all conditions even hard pack and they never let me don't. Great ankle support and comfort. Highly recommend.

This is the epitome of aggressive trail shoes. I've run most brands, and this one is by far the best. It's a great OCR shoe. The traction is unreal, except on very smooth rock surfaces with a bit of a wet mud coating. Comfort, protection and durability are fabulous. Hope Salomon continues this line forever!

I have wide feet. Salomon is very proud of (finally) making a wide fit shoe that these have tags on the tongues as well as nice lettering on the side so that you know you have a pair of the Speed Cross 5 Wide shoes. The fit is tight, not really wide - more like a half wide but the material has give to it so that the shoes feel great on my feet. If I'm sitting for a while I forget I'm even wearing shoes, they feel like a pair of socks. Walking the neighborhood they are very comfortable. I've not hiked in them yet, but I expect them to perform very well. Next time I will get the waterproof version - dry trails don't exist here.

I bought my very first pair of Salomons about 5 months ago. I started running trails and my regular sneakers didn't have enough grip. After doing some research on women's trail running show, the Salomon brand rose to the top. They are the most expensive sneakers I've bought, but they are so worth it!

My husband loved these shoes so much, he bought two pairs. He says that they are the most comfortable and supportive shoe he has ever worn. He wears them everyday and even rides his mountain bike with them. The grooves on the sole provide good traction on the pedals.
