This is my 6th pair. Always fits well. I do wish the tread lasted a little longer

Let me start by saying I've had 6 pairs of these and I love them. Amazing shoe. Comfortable and great on the trails plus they hold up well. But whoever is picking the colors for them needs to be fired. Please come up with some better color options aside from the neutral colors, the other ones are just so terrible. Please!

I've had these a month now, not managed to get into muddy conditions but they look good, are really comfy and I've no complaints.

I'd give the shoe overall a 4+, except for the sole. the cross 5 is quality breathable yet still good in cold. im used to minimalist trail runners so it is bulkier, but thats good for rock protection (which i needed) and still lightweight. Soles: i used to never understand the hype behind vibram soles, but after a couple pair of non-vibram salomons, i get it, and may actually be the main factor in my not getting another pair of salomons? i'd give salomon soles a 2; they do wear down way to quickly as others state. Fit: very nice, very comfortable, well thought out debris protection over tongue, etc . maybe just a little loose around the ankle, but again, im used to NB minimalist trail runners that are very snug (on my 5th pair). a feature id like to see (i had a pair of Columbias years ago that sort of had one) on these Salomons is a separate lace/tightening system around the opening/ankle, which would also help support (but I'm sure there's a cost/value trade off for Salomon)? bear in mind that im hyper critical and used to a different type of shoe, but in summary, if youre not a minimalist/zero drop trail shoe person, these may easily be your next favorite hiking or daily shoes (minus the sole). definitely try some on

I bought these as a trail running shoe and they've only impressed me! The only thing I would have wanted would be a slightly stiffer upper region as most of the trails have some off camber spots that make the shoe flex a little more that I'd like.

Great grip and sure footing means you can really let your feet go on muddy downhill sections, perfect for forest runsl My only gripe is that I only get one season out of them before they start to split and tear either side of the toe box where your foot flexes. I'm on my third pair in as many years now and all my friends have the same issue. C'mon Salomon isn't it time you sorted this perennial problem out!

I love the Speedcross shoe for rugged trails in Nova Scotia. I bought a pair of the GTX for the winter and loved them enough to buy a regular pair for the spring and summer. Great fit that feels like an extension of my leg. Only issue (see picture) is the inside lugs start to rip away. This happens on my GTXs, and I thought it was something to do with the cold weather, but the same is happening with my regular Speedcross shoes. Without the issue of the lugs I would have given 5 stars. Eventually on the GTXs the lugs in that spot ripped off. I assume the same will happen eventually with these ones too.

To be honest I wear these shoes for work out! and I do a lot of plyometric exercises which involve jumping, running, etc. So these shoes provide stability and mobility at the same time for me and I'm pretty comfortable with them! I recommend them.

Speedcross have always been a good shoe if you prefer a more narrow/snug fit. The toe box on the most recent version finally has little more room allowing the toes a little more room preventing blisters. The upper is seem-less and comfortable and the aggressive lugs last longer than they should for how sticky they are. All in all I would buy again and is the best version of the Speedcross.

The Salomon Speedcross 5 continues to make a solid, nimble, and relatively light trail runner shoe. Bravo!

I tried both the Speedcross and Speedcross wide. This shoe was too narrow. My feet aren't really wide, but there didn't seem to a difference in width between the two models. I really like the tread design and style of the shoe, but it was just too narrow. Didn't want to take the $130 gamble to see if my feet were going to ache.

This is my 3rd pair of speed crosses, started with the 3 went to the 4 and now have the 5, they all fit me true to size (11's) but the 5 has a bigger toe box than the 4's. I prefer the non goretex version to allow them to drain when they do get wet, the grip is awesome on everything except wet wood - I'm always a bit twitchy about running over wooden bridges or wet roots, but the speed cross has always been like that. Over all a great shoe.

I live in these things, they are by far the most comfortable shoe that I've ever put on my feet. Love the grip that they have, awesome for trail running, and snow/mud. They only down side is that after a while the tread starts to wear after 6 months or so. My latest pair the sole broke out on a hiking trip, wasn't happy but then again, worth every penny.

This is my second consecutive pair of the speedcross 5's and they are consistent. The one pair that is semi-retired (used as casual/everyday pair) are still in great condition. They have around 500 miles on them and still going.

I have owned the speedcross before and love the traction and cushion that they provide. The super soft rubber on the soles sticks to hard and soft surfaces extremely well while the lugged traction really digs in. This latest version of the speedcross has a slightly wider profile that fits to more true sizing and supports the mid foot very well without being too tight. My only issue is that I have rolled my ankles several times, but that may be due to running on more rugged terrain lately. I love the fit and cushion of this shoe but may need to transition to a model with more ankle support.

Wore these guys on several basic trail runs and loved them. Did a 13 mile mountain summit run and they were fantastic on the way up. Coming down, the insoles came loose and kept bunching up near my toes. Stopped several times to adjust and tighten laces, but the problem continued. I used a little shoe goo and will see if that fixes the problem. Without that issue, they get 5 stars from me.

Shoe is great! Only reason it wasn't a 5 is that the 9 1/2 was too small for long runs and the 10 was a bit too loose and I feel front to back and lateral movement in rougher terrain that even lacing doesn't resolve.

I've owned two pairs of the SpeedCross and echo reviews that state the rubber lugs wear down quite significantly in areas of most use. This is disappointing considering the price point of similar products. I enjoy the SpeedCross for road running, as the larger lugs help with stability and traction. Innovation in this area of product development would be strongly advised. Also, your website should include all pronouns when asking 'what is your gender?'

This is the most comfortable trail-running shoe that I have ever tried. It fits my foot very well - firm but not constricting. The weight and feel of the shoe is amazing! It feels lightweight and maneuverable, and the traction is fantastic. My only complaint is the durability. The rubber cleats quickly break off or wear down in the places where you put the most pressure. The toe of the shoe wears out more quickly than other brands' offerings at this price point.

I've put miles on these, this is my second pair of this type. I pushed the first pair to the limits. Ran with weight on my back for distance, did par core type workouts, even got my PR in heavy squats. (600lbs) they never hurt my foot or slipped off. I'd wish they had a mid top in the future.
