This shoe was just what I was looking for, a light and versatile outdoor style. BUT, the darn things are so narrow! I do usually need a wide width in running shoes, but can wear a medium width in Keens & Merrells. Why the heck don't great companies like Danner make women's outdoor shoes in WIDE widths?? So maddening!

In my quest for a decent pair of outdoor shoes I tried on AT LEAST a dozen different configurations/sizes of hiking shoes, including trail runners/hiking shoes by Brooks, New Balance, Columbia, Adidas, Oboz, Merrell, Keen, and Asics. Price was no object, only stability and comfort. It is strange, but shoes with the highest-rated insoles and excellent "arch support" tend to work against my own high arches, creating foot pain that I never have. However these cute shoes by Danner were a winner. They're a little hard to get on initially, but once on, they are very comfortable, stable, with lots of toe room. I like that the toes are reinforced, because I tend to poke holes in any running shoes very early on in their lifespans. I like that they are lightweight on my feet and made of breathable leather. I like that the footbed is lightly padded, but has a neutral contour. I also like that the Vibram soles are flexible and thin enough that I can still feel the trail texture underneath. One (possible) negative is that they are not waterproof in the least. Definitely not suitable for wading through creeks! I wear either a size 7 or a 7 1/2 and purchased the 7 1/2. There is plenty of room for my toes with lightweight wool-blend socks. Thanks for the amazing selection, Zappos!

My feet are very sensitive and I hate new shoes as even the best brands out there give be cramps and blisters! I wanted to wear hike sandals for trails in Glacier but after reading other people posts I decided to buy hiking shoes - and I know they do not suggest to bring new shoes for long hikes? I was very nervous about it and I had my sandals in bag pack just in case! I should say this pair of Danner Trail 2650 impressed me! Light! At the same time very soft and protective! Inside it feels like silk! Absolutely no blisters after our first hike to Piegan Pass! The back has this rubber protection - helps on not tripping on rocks! Great traction.. I did so many 10 miles trails on our two weeks trip - and my feet were happy ?

This is a very nicely constructed shoe and quite stylish. I really wanted it to work BUT (there is always a but) it was just a bit narrow in the toe box and given the stiffness of the suede, it did not feel like it would stretch. I tried it in two sizes but getting a half size larger did not solve the problem. People with less finicky toes might love this shoe.

These are even nicer than they look online! At first they seemed a little tight, but once I loosened the laces and actually got my foot in, they fit fine! I love the teal ones so much I just ordered the hot pepper! They are light weight, despite the way they look, unusually so for a hiking shoe. I have found a new favorite shoe!

These are great shoes!! We spent a weekend hiking and bouldering in Eastern Morocco, along with some rain and mud, and these were comfortable and super stable. I used them immediately upon getting them from Zappos, without any short term break in. They were great. I highly recommend going up a half size if you plan on heavy duty hiking with these - it just gives your feet a little more room to move around and you can always tighten up the laces.

(I wear 38.5 but I bought 39 and it felt perfect for hiking)

Felt narrower than the standard width. Honestly, Danner, women do not all have narrow little tootsies. Offer wider shoes for women that aren't just for people in the armed forces! Couldn't even get them on. Pretty to look at, though, I guess.

These shoes fit perfectly the first time. I walked around the house and they were a little snug, but I then took an hour hike and they were great. I had medium weight socks on, and have found that they fit better with lightweight socks. I have since taken a 2 hour hike and they were very supportive and comfortable. I would recommend these for anyone who wants a solid shoe with excellent protection front and rear, good arch support, and great lug soles. I have also worn them running errands around town and love them.

I tried on many other popular hiking brands and these immediately stood out in terms of quality and comfort. I have narrow feet and they actually felt like they were made for narrow feet, so I was really happy. I normally wear between a 9-10 depending on the shoe brand and style, and I chose size 10 because I wanted a little extra toe room for downhill hiking. The fit was perfect in size 10, so I'd say true to size with a narrow foot-hugging fit. They feel really stable and look great too; they are well made. I first ordered the GTX waterproof 2650's which also look great, but they were far too rigid and stiff for my sensitive feet. I was literally limping after walking a couple of miles, but with the non-waterproof Danner 2650's I did an intense 8-mile forest hike with these shoes, straight out of the box, and my feet felt great with zero foot pain! They also had great traction when crossing rocks on a stream, as well as, rocky bits of the trail.

Beautiful shoes, in color and style. They run small and narrow. I ordered my normal size, but would need to go a full size up. I feel that they’d still be too narrow , though.

A little pricey but worth it! I had never heard of this brand, but I'm glad I discovered them! These shoes have been comfortable since day 1. I wear them primarily for trail walking with my dogs.

My first pair of Danners. Love the look, love the teal/black combo. My foot feels so much better supported than in the Brooks running shoes that I’ve relied on for the past two decades, especially when walking down rocky hills. I’ve been using these for city and trail walking, both with dogs and without. They are nowhere near to being as clunky as I feared. I like that the width is more narrow than a running shoe and I’m hoping that they help to reduce my metatarsal and heel pain.

I bought these and the Hokas...keeping the Hokas. I bought them for a towards the end of the day change out shoe from my Oboz on the Camino Frances...wore them and the Hokas in my kitchen for an hour..... these did not have that cushy feeling I was looking for... love the style... they would probably be great small day hikers but they weren’t going to be what I was looking for.....

Everything felt right, but I had shoes on for a few minutes to make sure all was correct, and my feet started feeling too warm for my comfort. Perhaps if I were looking for a winter sneaker (it's April), it might have worked for me.

I really liked the shoe but for the size I ordered and how I expected it to fit it simply felt too narrow and short. My foot was being pinched all over. The shoe felt very stable with a very sticky sole which is just what I was looking for. I wish it fit better so I did not have to return the shoe. The next size up was not available and may have been too narrow also. I may try a mans shoe (wider) in the same style if available. We don't have any shoe stores in my rural area so Zappos is my shoe store. Thanks Zappos.

I rarely like a shoe immediately but I did with this one. The only reason I am not keeping it is that the shoe is way too narrow. Had it come in a wide width it would have been golden.

Well-made shoes and very comfortable. I normally wear a 7.5 in hiking shoes and sneakers, but had to size up to an 8.0. I recommend these shoes.

I'm generally in-between a 9.5W - 10B. I initially ordered a 10 and they were too long, about an inch. Ordered the 9.5, my feet run wide, one shoe fit perfectly and the other felt a bit tight. Overall the shoes are very comfortable and I felt that they would loosen up a bit with wear, so I decided to keep them! Went on 4 hikes this weekend and was happy to have settled on this shoe. The Atlantic Blue is a nice color, not too bright.

The Danner Trail 2650 styling is very cute and the sole is comfortable. I couldn't make them work because the shoe didn't hold my heel securely. I have a medium to wide foot with a narrow heel. When I opened the laces far enough to accommodate the width of my forefoot, there wasn't much lace left to tie. I would have purchased longer laces, but even using the lace holes at the top of the shoe didn't help to lock in my heel.
