These are great! I like the drop in pockets OR added on the back for these, they are big enough to hold a cellphone. I have put these into heavy rotation, even put them on wet from the wash today and they are dry 20 minutes later. I also love the color :)

I have multiple pairs of these shorts in the old design and LOVE them. I bought a few pairs of these in the same size and they don't fit very well at all.

I have several other pairs of OR pants/shorts all of which are a size small/4. I'm 5'7" and 133. On recommendation from other users I ordered a size up when I ordered the ferrosi pants. The pants were actually quite loose and I was glad I had a draw string. But, they'll be great for climbing as I do not like feeling restricted. For the shorts, I initially opted to go back to my normal OR size - 4 - and ordered the Ferrosi in a size 4. Too small. So I ordered the size 6. Better, but still a wee bit snugger then I'd like in the thighs - especially when I have the same season pants which are borderline baggy in a size 6. Overall I like the shorts and the 7" length is great. Can wear a climbing harness especially if just belaying clients. Also great every day short/hiking short. Just order w/ caution on sizing. Definitely go up 1 size for the shorts. Normal size for the pants.

Agree with other reviews- I purchased the old version of these shorts (2018) and this version (2019) is different. I was a 4 in the old shorts and a solid 6 in this version. I agree that the loss of the large zipper pocket is not helpful- the new pocket will fit chapstick or credit cards but not much else, and it's so hard to find good pockets in women's clothing. That said, the front pockets are still massive and easily fit a phone with room to spare. There just aren't any large pockets with a zipper and the front pocket is not as ideal for a phone which you're active. Back pockets are standard, meaning I wouldn't trust them to keep things from falling out while you're moving around. The material feels the same as the old shorts, so I'll assume they work well when they're wet and dry quickly. I often wear the 2018 shorts while kayaking or wading similar wet activities. After a year of wear, the old shorts can pill if you're not careful about brushing up against rough material (like rock, etc.) but otherwise hold up well. The fit feels trimmer in the thighs compared to the 2018 version, which may be uncomfortable for those with muscular legs even with the ample stretch in the material. However, for me, this means the legs don't ride up, which is a good thing. The waist hits my belly button. The drawstring is annoying for me, but could be helpful if someone needs to size up for extra leg room. I am 5'6", 135-140 lbs, and wear a 6 in this 2019 version. I am typically a 4 in prAna, a small/6 in Patagonia, and a small in OR.

I love almost everything about the Ferrosi line, and these shorts are my favorite. I do a lot of field work in hot weather, and these are perfect. They are lightweight and keep me cool, super stretchy and I love the little side pocket on the leg. I am 5"6' 135lbs, 38" hips and 27" waist. Some days I like the size 8, some days I like the 6. It probably depends on your preference, but the 6 can feel a little snug for me in the booty area, and on really hot days, that is definitely not what I am looking for. But with the 8 I always have to wear a belt because the waist is a little big. Also, while I appreciate the idea of the microfiber waistband on the inside, sometimes it gets bunched up and you have to dig around your waist to smooth it out.

great shorts, love the fabric but these are made in china and run a lot smaller than the skirt and capris of same ferrosi line, which are made in Vietnam

I am very disappointed in these shorts. While I love the material, the sizing is off, way too big in the waist and too small in the legs.

A bit on the tighter size; I should have listened to the other reviews and bought one size up. Hoping they will loosen a bit. They are still wearable but tighter than the same size 7" I bought at the same time.

These are really nice shorts but they were too short for me. I had to send them back. Love the rose color though.

Did not care for the color! In between sizes and went for the smaller fit!

I have a pair of these shorts from 2018 that I love and wear everywhere to do everything (which means a lot since its so hard to find functional women's shorts to wear as an outdoor professional) . Went back to buy a second pair and was so sad that the design has changed. Came back to look at the 2020 design hoping you all had responded to other feedback in comments and sad to see you didn't. Please bring back the functionality!

I was a big fan of the Ferossi. And I am pleased with the updated color choices. The new shorts have the zipper pocket on the right thigh but it is now too small to hold a cell phone. I count that as a loss. Plus, the new shorts are cut much smaller - they are more form fitting and in my hot climate that's uncomfortable. If you want the older fit - size up. Lastly, the waist is bulkier. It feels thicker and now includes an elastic safety tie Incase you lose your button. Please bring back the bigger zip pocket.

I discovered the Ferrosi line last year, and I wore these shorts for my entire season of fieldwork! I work long days hiking in heat, and need lots of flexibility in bottoms that I wear. This fabric was perfect - breathable, flexible and quick dry. I am 55, 130 lbs, 29 waist and 38 hip. I have these shorts in two pairs of size 8s, which both have a waist measurement of 33 and fit well. This spring, I ordered a new pair in size 8, which turned out to be much too large for me around the waist. I reached out to customer service regarding this size discrepancy with size 8. Let me just say- customer service was AWESOME! The guy I exchanged emails with went above and beyond helping me with questions and concerns. Ultimately, I learned from him that size 8 in these shorts should be a 33 waist, but my most recent pair was a 34. I also have a friend with multiple pairs of size 8 shorts with waists that measure at 34, and size 6 shorts with waists of 31 (when they should be 32). The variability of waist sizes leaves me guessing if sizes I buy will be the proper fit- so Im not sure I would buy these shorts again.

I love the Ferrosi line. However, these shorts run way too big. I purchased my normal size and these were at least two sizes too big.

Have been a long-time fan of the Ferrosi line, so I was excited that they updated the look and added new beautiful colors. In the old Ferrosi's, i was always somewhere between a 6 and 8, depending on the time of year. I felt like a 6 would be good for me now, and in any other brand, style, etc I'm ALWAYS a 6. HOWEVER, the strange sizes that OR chooses to produce once again disappoint. These new shorts were abhorrently too small in a 6. Even with some slight stretching, I would never wear them in public. Should have read the reviews before purchasing! Back they will go, and I am on the fence if I will get an 8. The side zip pocket is so tiny and wouldn't be useful for anything except maybe a key and chapstick. BRING BACK THE CELLPHONE-SIZED POCKETS! The peacock color is just so beautiful, so I am just really bummed.

Disappointed. Ordered same style and size of a pair of shorts that I love, wanted another color. Not the same fit. Ended up returning which is too bad. Kind of a waste of time and money (had to pay for return shipping, boohoo).

Item was returned as it did not meet the proper sizing and fit for a woman. Recommend more effort is expended to better fit women's attire to fit a women's body type.

I love all of my Ferrosi wear except this one. Unfortunately OR continues to be plagued with inconsistent sizing. I have 3 Ferrosi skorts, a pair of capris and a pair of pants all size 4. One would assume that their shorts would run the same size. Of course not. Very disappointed as this has happened before with OR. Please please find a more consistent manufacturer. For now I am going to have to take my business else where.

I have loved most of the products I have ordered from OR. I have a pair of the Voodo pants and the Ferrosi pants, and wanted the lightweight durable fabric like in the Ferrosi in short form. I ordered the same size as my pants. They fit perfect around the waist, but were not comfortable around my legs. Even with the stretch they did not fit nicely. They are not a flattering pair of shorts if you have more curves, or muscular legs. When the fabric stretches it clings to everything...leaving an unflattering panty-line visible. They fit much the same to spandex shorts.

I had 5 pairs of shorts purchased 2 years ago and recently lost weight and purchased two in every color in size 2 and 4. Not one pair fit the same. I received one pair of 2 that was the same size as my old 6. One 4 that was smaller than any of the 2s and one 2 where the legs were weirdly very tight on the thigh, though the waist fit. Overall they are just terrible and very frustrating. This is so disappointing and frustrating that there is zero control. So disappointed in OR. Clearly I need to find another brand that takes more pride in their product. I don't recommend unless you have the time and money to purchase multiples of each shorts or can try on in a store. Moving on from OR.
