I have been using this pant in both rock and alpine environments. I am 6'1" and weigh 185 lbs and they fit perfect. They have great articulation and length is just perfect, not too long, not too short. I would recommend this pant to anyone looking for a great all around pant in the summertime rock/alpine environment.

I started wearing OR pants about a year and a half ago and ever since I tried on these pants I cant make myself go back to regular jeans or khakis. I hate when pants bind and don't move with you, the ferrosi fabric is the exact opposite. I climb mostly in the SE region of the US and these pants surprisingly hold up great on sandstone. I thought they would shred for sure when I got them but the first pair I bought is still going strong. I couldn't recommend a product or company more. I've been more than happy with every pair of pants I've received from OR. Only complaint is they don't restock often enough!

I beat and use the heck out of my gear / from big walls to guiding on alpine rock (lots of butt scooting and seated belays), and can attest to the quality of construction, materials, and subtle design features that make the difference to people who spend time climbing technical rock in the mountains and the crag. I like that the boot cuffs fit snug around the top of my Trangos so they keep scree and snow out without needing stirrup strap attachment points. The fabric stretches with your body and the fit is technical without being at all constrictive. As stated before, the fabric holds up extremely well on rough granite, drys fast, and seems to keep me comfortable in a very wide temperature range / from hot summer days to cold pre/dawn starts for fall alpine ice. A note to the manufacturer: Do not change anything about these pants! I'm on my 3rd pair but have not honored their incredible warranty because they've far surpassed any pant I have tried so far with durability.

These are my favourite pants. They're incredibly comfortable and versatile. I've worn them on canoe trips and while mountain biking with my class as well as to parent/teacher interviews. They're tough too, I've had them for over a year and still no rips, fabric pulls or pilling. You can't go wrong with this product!

I wore these pants hiking in texas hill country for two weeks, then spent a week in the mountain, the temperature range was 94 down to 26 and snow! These pants are amazing! They are cool in the heat and dry fast, but are comfortable in the cold, and cut the wind! They held up to thorns, rock, and some serious bushwhacking!. They now go everywhere with me.

I have owned these pants for a few months and have been very happy with them. I am 6'3, 240 lbs and I have the pewter 38 size pants. I have used these pants primarily for summer hikes in the Pacific Northwest and so far I have not had any issues with rain or warm weather. I am not sure I would wear these pants in cold and wet weather due to the fact they are very thin. I do wish OR would have included loops for their suspenders. After hiking for a while the waist will stretch and if you do not have a belt or suspenders the waist line will fall.

Perfect fit ... The material is soft and flexible for all activities whether climbing, biking, hiking or working. I like the cut of the pants with double seams for withstanding the extremes of all situations while in the stretch ... if you get my drift.... Only suggestion for OR... Need more inventory!

I just returned from a road trip in which I climbed at five locales in four states. I wore my Ferrosi pants on every climb, and they held up great. They're so lightweight and stretchy that you hardly notice them. They also can take a beating. I abraded my knees a few times, but the pants did not tear. Added bonus: the blood washed right out.

These pants have it all. They look great, are very comfortable, wear like iron, are super light weight and pack into the size of a soda can. I wore a pair of these pants most days on a 5 week Arctic canoe trip and on my return home, wore them out to dinner with friends. With the curved waist and articulated knees, these pants are designed to move with you. The lightweight ferrosi material also provides good protection from the wind. All in all, for outdoors activities or urban adventuring, the Mens Ferrosi Pants are a great choice.

Fit varies across all manufacturers, but overall, I typically wear a 33" waist/ 34" inseam pants. The 34 long variety of this pant fits perfectly with a belt. Great weighted and selected fabric to climb splitter cracks in the creek in October and April, and long haul alpine rock days in the Sierra summer. On the approach or high efforts, a little sweat is expected, and the pants dry quickly or can be rolled up briefly. roll down the cuff and the cool breeze at belays aren't a problem and the stretch is ideal for flexibility when negotiating rock moves. If the front pockets had zippers the pant would be even better.

These pants quickly became my go to pant for warm weather climbing. They are super light but stop wind well, so they are warm enough for spring to fall climbing. I also like that they don't look awful: the curved waistband makes the pants very flattering, or at least that's what my girlfriend tells me! I love these pants for climbing because of the drawcord on the inside of the cuff. It's super low profile and at first I didn't even know they were there, but I love being able to have tight cuffs for climbing without looking like a skinny jeans wearing hipster the rest of the time. The pockets are also nice and slim and don't become a problem after a few hours of wearing a harness. The side pocket is well placed for me to use while I've got my harness on. I got my first pair of these pants as a gift, but I liked them so much I went and bought another pair.

Comfy but runs a little large. Fabric seems very thin - so very breathable but we'll see about durability

I spent about 2 hours reading reviews on these pants to find my size and still wasn't sure I'm 5'11" and 162lbs. I wear a 32x32 in most items. I ended up getting a 31" waist and 32 length. They fit well but I still need a belt for that finger width left in the waist or tie the draw string. The pants are a bit snug on my thighs and butt, but are a good length. Overall I do like the pants. They are great for hot weather hiking. I would say they are like wearing running shorts that are pantslol. Overall I'm satisfied but OR does a poor job explaining these pants and their sizing.

Since I bought the first of five pairs of OR Ferrosi pants, I have been psyched to feel like I'd finally found my favorite pants of all time. Before the quality changed, Marmot's Arch Rock pants were my previously preferred leggings; though the best of their ancestors don't hold a flame against the Ferrosi.
The Ferrosi pants have an incredible amount of stretch, are never restrictive, and fit great for those of us with mountain climber legs. They also strike a great balance to be cool enough for most summer days, warm enough for 3-season use and adequate with lightweight base bottoms for dry winter conditions.
Considering they are super packable, lightweight, and wrinkle resistant; they also are amazingly versatile. I've worn these on a morning run in the Idaho mountains, for work, and they are the only pants I travel with in the front country.
If only they didn't pill and thin around the crotch and thighs after 6 months, then I'd give em 5 stars. Perfection is a lot to ask, but they come close.
Highly recommended, though they may wear thin before a long expedition.

Lightweight, breathable, nice fabric, look and fit great. We will see about the longevity and handling a travel across the continent. So far so good. Wrinkles very easy though.

Very comfortable/breathable pants. Wish the legs were a little more tapered but performance wise these pants are great.

They used to come with an elastic stretchy waistband instead of the static band that you can tie in the front and they used to have elastic cords at the bottom to cinch up so they didn't go past your feet. I miss these features. I appreciate that they rotated the zipper pocket horizontally instead of the old vertical though. Overall they are comfortable stretchy pants that can take a beating. I just wish I didn't outgrow my pair from years ago because those were superior.

The fabric is perfect for hiking in hot weather where you need to cover your skin. Unfortunately, it seems OR keeps adjusting the waist on these pants. This makes no sense on pants that are sold with exact waist and inseam numerical values (not to mention the fabric is slightly stretchy anyway). It sows confusion among customers. Prior to 2019, the pants had a loose fitting waist. Then, the 2019 version was sold true to fit, without a drawstring, whereas for the 2021 version they've added another inch-and-a-half above the labelled size, and a drawstring. Both versions are still on sale, and it's anyone's guess which version you'll receive when you order. The solution to people getting fatter is for those people to re-measure their waist and order the correct size, not to sell pants with wildly inaccurate waist sizes. If you wear a 31 Prana, Dockers, Uniqlo, etc and it fits perfectly, a 31 Ferrosi pants will be way too big for you. If you want your pants to still fit in 5 years after you've gotten way fatter, and only stay on now by tightening the drawstring then go ahead and order and hope they ship you the 2021 version.

First of all: PLEASE make an elastic-waist pull-on version of these pants (maybe with a little extra room in the hips). They would instantly, easily be my favorite climbing pants, which is saying a lot since I've tried 15 different options.
Cons:
-The waist is kind of bad. The 30" waist is larger than any other 30" I've tried, and has poor adjustment. The internal drawstring is not easy to get properly snug, and not entirely comfortable even if you do. Also, the waist band is somehow tighter at the bottom than at the top.
-The metal shank button is REALLY tall. Much taller than on my jeans which are a thicker material. Doesn't make sense. And if Outdoor Research really wants to use a button, attaching a button via a small loop of webbing/strap would take up much less bulk and be more comfortable under harnesses/backpack straps. That's what Patagonia uses on their hiking/climbing pants.
-The fit is a tad snug around the hips. The stretchy material means you don't notice it as much, but I would still like a little more room around the hips.
Pros:
-The material is amazing. It's the stretchiest I've seen, drapes really well, and breathes really well.
-The cuffs are slim enough that they're not annoying for climbing.

I have liked this pant for discing and work (at Discraft). Only feedback to give is a desire for a 35" or 36" inseam length option. I'm 6'7" and 34" is often too short. I bought another pair yesterday in one size up in the waist to see if it helps the pants ride a little longer. Otherwise, satisfied with customer service and product.

I use these for hiking and camping. They are very comfortable and are my favorite hiking pants. I'm 5'11" and 170lbs. They fit nearly perfect. The waist is a little big, but the draw string on the interior makes them feel snug so I don't have to wear a belt.

The pants fit well, but are a bit looser around the ankles than the rest of the pants are, in my case. Otherwise they're fantastic.
