As an exploration geologist I need gear that can multitask and handle all manner of weather conditions when I work remote. My Ferrosi pants definitely make the grade and are an indespensible part of my field kit.

I purchased these pants for work to wear during incliment weather and to keep in my pack in case of unexpected weather situations. Having purchased a Ferrosi jacket previously I knew I was going to like these pants. The only unknown being size/fit. OR has exceeded my expectations.

I basically live in these pants. I have now purchased 3 different pairs in different colors and have been impressed and please with the quality and feel. I camp and hunt and these are my go to pants for that as well. Would not change a thing.

I wear these all the time. I owned the same pair of pants in black but got some gray ones for when they are in the wash.

I work as a wilderness ranger for the forest service, and while I don't wear these for work, I wear them everywhere else. Great feeling material, stretchy, warm when they need to be but also breathable. Great for climbing, backpacking, or just wearing around the house. The only thing I would change is getting rid of the pocket on the leg / without it I would consider wearing it into a nice restaurant.

Ive taken these camping a few times and they are great! Super light weight, very fast drying, pretty tough material. I want to wear them every day... Like a few others have said they fit a bit big so get at least one pant size smaller.

I work outside and inside all in the same day so I wanted some pants that would work for both. These pants are my new go to for everyday work and play. They are lightweight yet they shed off a good bit of moisture. They are also super tough, I've worn them for a week strait at work in some pretty hairy conditions and they held up great. They also look good which is a serious plus. I would recommend these for anyone who wants something that will hold up well and feel good all while looking sharp at the same time.

I use it to go to work, go for a hike or go on an extended outdoors excursion. It fits like a glove and yet protects me from the elements.

Wind resistant, stretchy pants. I've got three pairs of them and highly recommend them to anyone who will give me the time of day. You can't go wrong with these for any activity, they're even comfy for laying around the house. They're a tiny bit on the short side.

Great product. For how stretchy they are, the durability is incredible. I recently wore them for nearly a week straight in the Alaska wilderness. They also dry quickly, which was perfect for the constant AK rain. I'm 6'4" and they fit great. I have found OR to generally have great options for tall people.

I bought one pair of these off Massdrop and they held up extremely well on a rainy weekend backpacking trip in West Virginia in March. I ended up falling in a river and when I climbed out, the things were nearly dry. After a day of walking in pouring rain, then dried out very quickly. I liked them so much, I bought two more pairs and now I wear them for everything.

These pants are very comfortable and breathe well. They're great for warm weather hiking. They don't shed moisture very well, though; even in light rain the classic Ferrosi line will quickly soak through despite conscientious waterproofing as needed using purpose/formulated detergents and water resistance coatings. They fit a little bit big in the sense that the material is stretchy. You can probably spring for a perfect fit or a size down from what you'd normally purchase your jeans in and you'll find that these pants fit nicely. I would make two changes: the side pockets at the hips could be zippered. Although the pockets are reasonably deep, I don't want to worry about losing the contents on a hike, scramble, or climb. The leg pocket zipper could also be lengthened 1/2 centimetres. I have a hard time fitting my wallet through the opening. Finally, the zipper tabs are frustratingly small. I strongly recommend manufacturing these pants with a pull cord affixed to the tab, or tying one on yourself at home.

I've been using the columbia convertible pants for many years and decided to try these out since I never utilized the shorts on them. First, the pros. These pants are extremely comfortable, light weight, water resistant, and ergonomic. I have really enjoyed how flexible they are and fit almost every outdoor need (backpacking, climbing, birding, kayaking). The upright pockets I found to be very useful holding equipment without falling out. Some cons (kinda). Sizing I felt was a bit strange. I am a skinny 6'1" around 165 lbs. usually 32s are too tight, so I want with the 34s. The length was perfect, but the waist was abnormally long in my experience. 32s would probably be a better waist size for me, but would also likely be too short. Unfortunately I tore a hole in the right leg on the second day wearing them getting over barbed wire (my fault). I didn't expect these to hold up against barbed wire, but be careful when bushwacking or encountering anything else sharp. These are not meant for anything besides skidding along dirt/rock. If I had any recommendations, I would say add a basic belt to these pants for us tall and skinny folk. Happy trails!

I wear these pants everywhere. I wear them hiking and they look so nice that I wear them to work too. they stretch good and they are water resistant to a certain degree. I wouldn't want to be in a rain storm in them. But they do dry really fast. I like them so much. I bought another color and the shorts version of these. Equally as nice.

I don't think I've worn a better feeling pair of pants. These pants are made from a thin, soft/touch material with enough stretch that they feel completely non/binding and weightless. Being a cyclist with thick thighs, I often have trouble finding pants with enough room around the upper leg and glutes while maintaining a trim fit around the waist. These pants offer both room for movement with a waist that is still form fitting. To date, Patagonia pants have been the best fit for me, but based on this experience with the Ferrosi pant, I will definitely consider Outdoor Research for future pants and shorts purchases.

I bought a pair of the Ferrosi pants 6 years ago. They are still almost the same as when I bought them even though I haven't been that easy with them. I used that product on every summer and winter hicking (warm winter!) and outdoor rock climbing. The only thing I can see after these years is some yarn fabric on the edge of the leg pocket and the black colour that has lost some of it's darkness on the used areas. I used it during every four seasons, even on warm winter's days with a base layer under. Even though it's not windproof or waterproof, it is protecting very well against wind and water. I'm now buying a new pair because they are now fitting my size better with the 28" size that they seem to have introduced on the Ferrosi pants and shorts.
