Really really awesome and stylish pants. If you got bit of a butt, it pops it like no tomorrow hahaha(if u wanna impress the ladies). It somewhat repels water(light rain for 30 mins ok, but after that the rain will get through). It's also bit stretchy, so u don't have to worry about losing flexibility while hiking or doing some sort of activities that involves full motion of your legs. Lastly, it's very versatile when hiking. You can put it into a short mode when there's no rain and put it into pants mode when it's raining. The water repelling material mostly keeps your feet dry if u got waterproof boots.

I typically wear size 30X30 - 30X32. I got the 30X32 in these and the fit was great! My first thought after taking them out of the box and putting them on was surprise at their insane range of motion and ultra light weight. These are the most flexible pants I have ever worn, hands down (even when considering sweat pants). I have unrestricted range of motion when making movements that one may during climbing, or other strenuous outdoor activities. They don't feel flimsy though and lead me to believe they will stand up quite well to the test of time. It's a weird but awesome balance. They show no signs of wear after doing random things like sitting on rocks, etc... My biggest fear was that the zipper for the zip off bottoms would bother me while walking, but I'm happy to say that I didn't even notice them in the slightest. I cannot stress the comfort of these pants enough. They are so flexible, comfortable, and breathable, yet they keep me relatively warm. These are the most comfortable pair of pants I have ever worn. The DWR coating worked very well for the wetness that I encountered from snow melting off of trees and brush on my most recent outing here in the PNW. The water just beaded up and rolled off. I plan to rejuvenate my DWR finishes with Nikwax when they start to wear off so I'm not overly concerned with the longevity of this or any other particular DWR finish on my apparel, but this stuff did work very well out of the box. These are the most versatile bottom layer I have. Wear them as shorts for the approach, zip the bottoms on when it starts to get colder, toss them on over a base layer, under a hard shell and some gaiters for the Summit and you're good to go! I personally pair these with the Foray pants and Croc Expedition Gaiters (both Gore-Tex and both from OR as well... see picture) when things get colder. The Ferrosi line is truly the perfect addition to any year round layering system.

Zip off pant leg make it easy to transition from warm to cold area. Great for camping when it starts to cool down at night, just through the pant legs back on, no need to get changed. These are my favourite pants

I wear these pretty much everyday. I love the fit and dexterity that I have with these. I only wish they had ankle zips to make it easier to remove the legs.

I have a problem with hiking pants. The size of my upper legs and butt relative to my waist seems to be outside the normal design parameters. Which is really a problem for freedom of movement in non-stretchy fabrics. I have blown out the stitching in the crotch of 3 pairs of hiking pants from other brands now before I tried the ferrosi. The fabric is amazing. Breathable and stretchy. Gives me total freedom of movement so I can hike but also do more range-of-motion-intensive things like climb. They also have some light water resistance. I haven't taken them in proper rain (and would probably recommend layering them with some real rain pants for that). But in light misty Seattle stuff, they work great. It is very lightweight and not very warm. Perfect for summer. If it's getting into the 40s, bring long johns or something to layer. If it was going to be both cold and wet, these would not be a good choice. They are my summer (plus late spring and early fall) hiking/backpacking pants. Durability seems good so far, but I haven't put them through a lot either. As far as features, I figured they wouldn't have enough pockets for me, but they have actually been fine. Pockets aren't as important as I thought. The stretch makes what pockets there are (2 side, 2 back, and 1 zip on right leg) hold more than you would expect and still be comfortable/easy to access. Zip pocket is super useful for some headphones, a lighter, and other small items that I use frequently. They look really good on me in both pants and shorts configurations Recommendations for improvement: A zip pocket on the left leg would be nice Integrated belt would be great so I don't have to bring one. Bonus points if there are spots to hang a knife on the side/back. Side zips on the convertible pant bottoms would make putting them on/taking them off with shoes a lot easier. They're doable with the stretch, but it's a little harder than it needs to be

Great for cool morning bikes that turn into hot afternoons. Drop the bottom leg portion and the shorts are perfect. I also use these fly fishing with my wading boots and neoprene socks since they quick-dry after taking a deeper step than intended. Nice and light. Stretchy. Super comfy.

I've now completed 2 hikes with these pants. They are light weight and are not restrictive during climbing. The knees zip off and on quite easily.

Very light and cool. Perfect for hiking in warm weather. Resists water nicely, but will get wet eventually in hard weather. They do dry quickly though They fit somewhat straight legged and are true to size. I wear 32 in most pants and got these in 32 as well. They fit perfect.

Best 3-season backpacking pants I've found. Material is super lightweight and quick drying. Convertible zippers are high quality and don't jam. Pants are a little on the bay side but works well for adding a base layer at night. Highly recommend!
