I bought these shoes for my Severe Autistic nine year old son. He has learned to tie his shoes, but in the morning, it is hard to get him moving, and out the door. We are so happy to switch back to velcro shoes. These shoes are worn by many kids his age, so he still blends in with his classmates. I love the elastic stretch, which looks like laces, and the minimal velcro strap. I can always trust New Balance for good shoes, and the wide width!

I have two boys who couldn't be harder on shoes if they tried. I have been buying this style of shoe from New Balance Kids for the past 7-8 years. They are durable, ie the stitching hasn't ever given me trouble unless it's been 8 months or so and at that point their feet have grown and we are purchasing new shoes anyway. We've tried other brands and styles, and I have been consistently disappointed. Either the stitching would come out in 2-3 months and I would be back to buying another pair of shoes. Or the shoes simply didn't wear well. My kiddos also have a wide foot, so I like that there are options for Wide and Double Wide. I love that I can come on here and put in the size and know what options I have. Thank you, New Balance and Zappos for making this momma's job just a little bit easier.

I give Zappos 5 stars for their customer service. I bought this shoes for my 5 yr old grandson and he loves them. He has a wide foot and the fit is perfect. We love New Balance shoes and have never had a problem with them. These shoes after eight weeks started to come apart at the toe on both shoes with the mesh separating from the top material. I called Customer service and explained the problem. They immediately shipped me a new pair at my request rather than a refund. The damaged shoes have been sent back. I am hoping this was a one time experience and the new shoes hold up better.

These are GREAT Shoes. A lot of people buy for the wide and extra wide width. Girls can also wear them and they look super with dark pants. For the people who have issues with durability, search NB for the same style in black and white leather. It may say 680 or 624. They have two velcro straps. The colors are basic, but either white or black can be worn year around. The leather shoes are a bit heavier, are more durable ( I own these sneakers and the black and white leather) but if I can wear two styles from New Balance perfectly, then other people can ,too. It gives more color choices and both style have different feature. I wear the leather ones 1/2 size larger, but still XW. Keep trying until you find what fits and then buy it over and over and put an extra pair away for next year. ( Adults have it easy on twin sizes in the back of the closet, so with children that advice might not be as wonderful. Once the kids get older, they'll settle into one size forever , too.

I ordered wide width for my child that wears afo's. They fit perfect and he's able to get them on and off by himself over the afo's!

I have been buying New Balance tennis shoes for my sons for years and they usually hold up well. Unfortunately, this pair started to show signs of wear within 2 weeks and they were literally falling apart after 6 weeks. Very disappointed.

These shoes hold up so well to the wear and tear of my 5 year old. We have tried Saucony and Sketchers and they just don’t hold up to New Balance. They also are roomy for his wide foot and custom orthotic insert.

My 6 year old son has wide feet and I have difficulty finding sneakers he finds comfortable. He put these sneakers on and didn’t have any complaints. I purchased 2 more pairs in different colors.

My nine-year-old son loves his new shoes. They look good and feel good. I accidentally ordered the wrong size to begin with and exchanged for the right fit. The process was quick and easy.

The support and sizing are consistent, but the last two pairs of YA680s have been terribly made. Within weeks the mesh was torn and the sole was peeling away at the toe. I'm disappointed, but I my options are extremely limited as I have a kid who wears XW widths and there are so few options that work for him.

My son has been wearing this style shoe for a couple of years now and loves them. We just received 2 new pair in the next size up and found that they squeak very loudly when he walks! I have not had this problem previously with this shoe. I was tempted to see if the noise would go away after some wear, but decided to return them instead rather than take a chance. Very disappointed and hoping this will not be an ongoing problem with this shoe. For now, I have ordered a different style.

My 2nd grader REALLY wanted to like these shoes. Even though they looked too wide to me he insisted they would "be fine mom". The fit is awful. They are way too wide. The elastic laces do not have enough elasticity so the tongue of the shoe just falls to the side and clumps up while he wears them. By the end of the second week they already had a hole in the the top front stitching! He finally confided to me that they were not comfortable, he just really loved the colors. Unfortunately, I threw the box away after the first week so I don't think I can't return them. Ugh. So, so disappointed with these shoes!

Good fit. This is the 5th pair of New Balance Kids shoes I've purchased for my son. As he outgrows his current pair, I order 1 size up. He loves the style and fit. He's a bit rough on his shoes, so sometimes the seem at the toes rips.

These are my sons favorite shoes. They withstand daily wear from my big footed very active boy!

Bought these for all three kids, girls and boys, aged 5 to 11. They fit well and look great!

Shoes seem to fit fine & leave some room to grow while staying snug. Nice-looking, too. Hard to say for sure how they feel, since they're being worn by a four-year-old and he doesn't have much to say about things like that, but they seem fine.

My 7 year old son loves it! He says these make him run faster! Definitely recommend

Great shoes that fit true to size! We have gone through several brands of shoes over the years and New Balance always holds up the best and has the greatest fit.

I bought these sneakers for my grandson. They fit perfectly. New Balance is always our go to brand. Excellent quality, fit, durability and price.
