I have a very hard time finding shoes that don't hurt me, so I was thrilled to find I had no break-in period for these at all. They were immediately comfortable! (I should note that I was switching from one Dansko to another--I suspect they had the same footbed, so that was doubtless part of why the transition went so smoothly). I really like the easy on/easy off nature of this style. This shoe accommodated my foot which is not wide, but the area across my toes is very wide. Most shoes rub my pinky toe, and this one didn't. I wore this shoe all over Europe for three weeks and I never had a blister or a rubbed spot. I was worried that this style didn't have as much arch support as I needed, but my feet felt better than they have on any walking intensive trips in the past several years. I am very happy with these shoes! They were a blessing! My only caution is that if you have a very tall foot they might not work because the part of the strap with velcro seems shorter than most. However, it was long enough for me. The shoes are great and worth a try. One more thing: the velcro closure is very, very secure. I have had trouble with Dansko's with velcro closures that came open, that is not an issue with this style at all.

I am an older adult with arthritis in my feet and I also suffer with plantar fasciitis. I find Dansko shoes give me the good support my feet need. This style offers foot coverage in warm weather when regular sneakers make my feet too hot. They also make my large size foot look a bit smaller. I am a medium width, and this style gives me just the right amount of room. If your foot runs to the wider side of medium, I would get a wider shoe.

IMO: This Dansko shoe is TTS and has a decent width. Due to the fabric there is a little stretch/"give" to it as my custom-made orthotic inserts fit just fine despite ordering my normal size.The outer, bottom of this shoe does not have the typical overall strong support feeling like the clogs do - but this is no surprise with the light weight fabric used. The reasons I ordered this shoe: removable foot bed for orthotic inserts, closed toe for more professional look in warmer weather (no toes hanging out at meetings), the versatility of the neutral color (stone), and although there is leather in this product is has fabric too which supports my leather minimization intent.

This is such a cute shoe, similar to an old Naturalizer that I wore into the ground. I have a pair of size 9 Danskos in a similar style that are a tad short in the toe, so I ordered this in a 9.5, but these were too big, so I had to send them back. Signed, Goldilocks :(

Love Dansko, but have to send these back. Sole is not stiff enough, my carbon fiber insert (a type of orthotic) makes the shoe fit too small, and the throat seam cuts right across my arthritic toe joint. Probably a great shoe for those with less problematic feet. (And if these had fit, I would have kept them AND bought the blue version.) Thanks, Zappos, for continuing to make my shoe shopping so easy.

These shoes fit perfectly and were comfortable right out of the box. I wear a size 6 and 1/2 and ordered these in a 36, which is my usual size for Danskos. I have been walking for hours every day during the pandemic, and needed some new walking shoes that were also stylish and versatile. I can wear these with jeans or a dress. I love them! Here is a photo I took inadvertently when I was walking. :)

Beware, the side of the shoe where it meets the ankle bone ( outer side) the comes up high. I knew this when I bought the shoe but thought that it would loosen up. But I am getting blisters and there is no way the shoe will soften up as I had hoped it would. I did not have a problem until maybe after I wore the shoe for about 8 maybe 9 times. I have to be creative and think how I can modify the side...maybe cut it out? Pad it?? I am sorry I bought the shoe. But glad I tested it out for awhile before I went to Europe with it. I won't be taking it with me. It does run a bit narrow across the toe box but because it is mesh it stretches.The wide Maryjane strap is very comfortable. I did not buy the shoe at Zappos, but at a department store and I can not return it.

My closet holds 3 pair of these shoes just because they are extremely comfortable. My feet are very narrow, so the width is a bit wide for me, but with the strap across the instep I can adjust the fit. I get a lot of comments about the Mary Jane styling - all complimentary. I have the blue, black and tan...great colors. Three foot surgeries on each foot have made it difficult to find comfort - for me, these are the answer!

This shoe looks nice and was very comfortable when walking moderate distances pushing a wheelchair. It has good arch support. The shoe seems to have more support in the middle of the foot and not much on the outsides probably due to the "less clunky" look. I would definitely purchase again and may in a different color for spring.

The shoes fit , and I love the style and price point. Unfortunately the top of the shoes on the side hit my ankle bone (hence the three stars for comfort). You know as you're walking to the mirror and the shoes hurt, that things won't get better so they have to go back. Bummer.

Wore them right out of the box, around the house, without any problems. Felt great. So I went for a walk and about 1/2 mile out I got blisters on both feet. My fault, I know, but I was prepared with a backup pair of sneakers in my backpack. The fabric doesn't give or stretch much at all, but nothing a couple of bandaids can't help. My biggest issue is that I replaced the insert with another Dansko insert for better arch support and now the strap across the top of the foot won't reach the velcro... useless! So I either have to add extra material and velcro to the strap or cut the strap off. So sad they didn't take this into account when making a shoe with a removable insole. The shoes are cute and I'll keep them to wear with the supplied insole for short walks with bandaids until they are worn in.

There is no way this was medium width,more like a narrow, The style was quite nice but too too narrow I might reorder in a wide.

These are true to size for me. I wear an 8.5 or 9, depending on the shoe, and these are just right. They are wide enough for all my toes without any pressure. The only thing that's a bit of a challenge for me is that the ankle cutout is a bit high so that it's rubbing on my ankle bones. I will put some heel pads in and see if that extra bit of height helps. Otherwise I love them straight out of the box. I got the brown ones, and they should work for the fall and winter; even though it's August now, it's late enough to wear them. I wanted a pair of shoes to wear in the house while I work and these should be comfortable all day if I can get the ankle part figured out.

I loved the way these shoes looked, especially compared to another pair of gray Mary Janes that i had tried. They had a nice supportive structure, and good arch support. Unfortunately, they were tight enough in the toes that i thought that they would not work out for me. Was a little concerned, too, about the rather stiff back, and the way it rubbed against my heel - maybe this was also a feature of the shoes being a little tight.

These shoes are super cute and provide the foot protection I was looking for in a summer shoe. Unfortunately, like other reviewers mentioned, the area under the ankle bone is set too high and it hurt. Just on the right foot, but I need both to be comfortable. I'm having a really hard time finding a shoe like this (light weight, easy on and off, with adequate support). Used to wear Keens and have one other older Dansko style that works, but this year: nuttin!

Love the looks of this shoe, but it ends there. I am a senior citizen who has worn 6M for decades. This shoe is not close to being that size. My foot moved around while walking. Shame on you Dansko! I own some of your shoes that fit fine, but you really missed it on this one. Returning for another brand.

Mostly fine. Only one thing I'm having a hard time with: I will need to get some kind of heel lift or cushion, the back sides of the shoes are too high and rub against my outside ankles.

I love these Dansko Mary Jane sneakers. I wore them right out of the box and walked 6 miles. I have them in blue, too (also adorable and comfortable) and having this more neutral brown is a great option. I can wear these with a vintage dress and walk all day---they are the perfect marriage of comfort and fashion!

This is one of my favorite shoes, especially for the summer. It's nice that the insert is removable for washing. I have them in black, blue and grey. Never have to break them in either. Great support.

I was hoping that this shoe would be my summer shoe. I tried it over 2 days, but figured out that my bunions would not be happy. I'm so disappointed but they would probably be great for someone else. I wear orthotics for flat feel and they fit fine. The shoes were very cute and made my feet look smaller.

Fit was great. Liked the style. Comfortable.

So comfy right out of the box. I have the mushroom color which is a lovely brown. Since I am home isolating like so many, right now I am wearing them with ripped jeans, which is adorable, but I can easily seem them with a long skirt. Easy to dress up or down and and comfortable as can be. If you are wavering, take the chance; you won't be sorry.

The shoes are very comfortable, I didn’t have to break them in. I could walk in them all day and my feet don’t complain.

Extremely comfortable! I have a keritoma on the bottom of my right foot which feels like I'm walking on a pebble. My podiatrist told me I need shoes with padded soles. I'm also in my early 40's so don't want "old lady" style shoes. I bought this pair and a more expensive pair of Dansko's (twice the cost). I actually thought these were more comfortable and sent the Dansko's back.
