My grandson has had a new pair of this brand and style, Keen, each summer. Not only are they made in the America, they are top quality, rugged, good looking and fit well. As an "almost five year old" he has likes and dislikes...this sandal is a like. Shopping with L.L. Bean, whether at the Freeport Maine location, on the internet, or via phone connection has always, in all ways been a pleasure. Thanks !!!

Great shoe for all around Summer activities

Ordered this specifically because of the sole coming up over the toes. My daughter is at the age where she stops her bike & scooter with the toes of her shoes. Grrrr...These barely have a mark after a couple of months. She has no trouble getting them on quickly and she says they're really comfortable. The rubber over the top may not be the best looking, but its so worth it not to have to buy a new pair of sneakers every few weeks when the tops get worn off.

I buy a pair of Keen Newport sandals every year for my grandson.They have a perfect fit with the strap across the foot and the slide up the middle.This is a tough wearing shoe and lasts all summer without being replaced.It has just the look he likes in a shoe.His Newports took him all over Disney World with happy feet and no complaints.

My daughter loves these and will wear them all summer at summer camp. Comfortable and durable - will be getting a pair for both kids every summer.

My boys were so excited about these shoes. They have hiked, jumped in puddles, and the only thing left on their list is a tromp on the beach. Shoes protect the toes- YEAH!

These were purchased for my niece - she loves them and has not removed them from her feet since they arrived!

More daughter loves the multi-colored sandals. They are a bit wide but are comfortable and look nice. So far she has managed to not have them smell too bad either. This is an issue even with sandals so we really like them

As the mother of an active 10 yr old son who is absolutely hard on clothing and shoes, I am looking for all terrain shoes for the summer. These look like they will fit the bill. Have to admit, we needed to be patient as they were out of stock when I ordered and I was so anxious about getting them that I called. Bought these based on feedback of other parents and other reviews. Did have a funky smell when first out of the box. Wore them immediately and right away got them caked in dirt. Popped them in the washing machine and came out fine. Dried in no time at all and the funky smell was gone. Like the bungie cord velcro deal and the blue color. The wideness in the front is appreciated as is the what I call the front end bumper-toe protection. Turning out to be a great summer shoe.

I got these for both my girls and they love them. They are comfortable and a nice cross between a shoe and sandal.

This is our 3rd pair of keens for my ever changing 6 year old. We will never be without a pair, I predict. They're just great. They wear like iron, too. She wears them with shorts, dresses, shirts.

I have worn keens for years and purchase them for my children because they are SO durable. I've worn mine around the world. The quality for childrens Keens are the same as the adult shoe. Very good. Of course they are pricey. Also, they are very cute shoes!

Bought these for my grandson. They live in an area with rough roads and they look perfect for that. I hope he will enjoy them for quite a while.

Our little girl needed the right shoes for the hot days here in SC. She plays outdoors constantly. These are it!

I purchased these sanders for my grandson and he loves them. They are very comfortable and suites his needs for boating, and hiking with the Boy Scouts.

This is our first pair of Keens. Actually pairs. I bought some for my son (5) and some for my daughter (7). We do a lot of things that require them to have a good land/water shoe (boating, hiking, backyard hose playing) and after reading the good reviews I decided the price was worth it. So far so good! They look just like the pic, great colors. I am having to exchange my sons for one size bigger (same size as his sister!) because he has very deep arches and the 12 was too tight. Sisters 13 fit him great though. Pretty soon he'll be handing his shoes down to her! Overall I am pleased. Yes they are pricey, but we'd go through at least 2, maybe 3 pairs of cheaper shoes this summer. So in the end the price is reasonable.

Buy 2 pairs. I've bought these since my son was 2 and they are fabulous! Go anywhere and do anything from daycare to the backyard to the beach. Get one wet or wash one, have the other ready to go. He lives in them all Summer he has never worn them out and they always look great and are comfortable.

I bought these sandals because they looked sturdy. With the children running around and climbing things I wanted a shoe that would work with them. These sandals are ventilated for the summer but also provide the support they need. A great sandal.

Mt son is 5 and loves these sandals, he wants to wear them every day!

This shoe is great because, although it is technically a sandal, the closed toe and closed heel make it appropriate for events where a full shoe is required. Even though my son uses an actual hiking boot for long hikes, this shoe is great for shorter hikes.

I purchased a pair for my 2 year old and 7 year old boys and loved them so much I purchased another pair for my 5 year old girl! They can go from land to water and dry in no time. Kids can get them on by themselves. They don't tend to get as much playground mulch in them as some of our other summer shoes do! Nice rubber bottom and rubber covered toes make them okay to wear to school!

New favorite shoe for athletic 9 year old who is very fussy about his shoes.

I bought a pair for each of my girls, and they just love them! In fact I have a hard time getting them to wear anything else, so it's a good thing they're sturdy. I'll be buying them again next summer.

Love these shoes! I buy them for my kids every spring and they where them almost exclusively all spring and summer. They are durable and waterproof. No matter what my kids get into I don't have to worry about their shoes. When they are dirty, just rinse them off and they look like new. Plus they are easy to put on and take off so my kids can do it themselves.
