Unfortunately, the Stinson seemed oddly designed. Heel seemed narrow and my heels hurt after only short walks. Balls of my feet hurt as well. I returned one pair (unworn) to get a 1/2 size smaller. The half size smaller fit better but as I said the heel seemed narrow and the toe box seemed more wide than it should. I love the color I purchased but color is not enough to keep these shoes at the show price. I feel these are way overpriced. Sorry.......I really really needed a good shoe ~~~~ kind of bummin!

I have owned 2 pair of Hoka Stinson 4 and loved them! However, the 5 does not compare favorably. The tongue comes up too high on my foot and the shoe is not as wide as the 4. So disappointing. I hate to have a shoe that has worked sooo well for me and have it change with new edition. I sent the 5 model back and really really want the 4 to come back!!

By way of comparison, my last pair were Stinson 3's. I use these shores for running on gravel roads. This ATR 5's design is very appealing, and unlike the 3's, the toebox is nice and wide (which I need due to forefoot issues). On the older Stinsons, I had to order a half-size up, but these seem to be true to size. Unfortunately, the cushioning in the forefoot sole seems significantly thinner than my last pair, which might bother some if they run more than 4-5 miles a day on somewhat rocky surfaces. The heel cushioning is still excellent, however. My biggest complaint is that the cut of the uppers in the area just in front of, and under the inside ankle bone is different. Not only is the inch-long area with the top two shoe eyelets very stiff, the whole area behind it is higher and reaches father back. The result is that the top of the shoe rides over the front and over the bottom half of my inside ankle bone. I have tried working the area to make it more flexible, but it remains as stiff as ever. And I have now run about 150 miles in them, so they should be broken in by now. I have tried new inserts to raise my feet a bit to no avail. My advice to the company is to move the inside ankle-bone cut toward the front more and make it a little deeper agan. Now to be fair, I am short (5'4") and my ankle bones may be a little lower than average, but I have always been able to run in Stinsons without pain. As much as I love virtually everything else about these shoes, this one flaw has decided me to use them as gym shoes and to shop for something else. After over thirty years of running in different brands-- some of them really cheap -- this is the only pair of running shoes that is actually injuring me!

I have a normal foot with a somewhat high arch. I like a wide toe box but you need a really wide foot to make these work. I have to lace them very tightly to prevent the tongue from slipping down ( there is no slot to thread the laces through to keep the tongue in place. The tight lacing makes the top of my foot uncomfortable. I much prefer the speedgoat for trails. There is not as much cushioning in the speedgoat but it fits well and has a full vibram sole which I prefer on trails with varied terrain (I live in the Rocky Mountains) The rocker sole and cushioning are great for preventing sore muscles. I found that the rocker sole Slipped going up a slope with loose rocks although it was fine coming down

Until now it was my very favorite outdoor hiking and running shoe, but this model is nothing like the Hokas I purchased in the past

I have had almost every color in the ATR 4. I run ultra's so this had been my go to shoe & I'm pretty loyal to the Hoka One One brand. I got this latest version & I'm disappointed. The toe box is really cramping my right foot to the point where they aren't even comfortable to wear at work. To boot they are really ugly compared to the 4's. Try em on before you buy them if toe box width is an issue for your feet.

ATR 5 took away the roomy toe box of the ATR4! I know this won't apply to everyone, but for me the ATR 4 was perfect - the cushioning, the support, everything but especially the roomy toe box. With so many other shoes that have the more narrow toe box...wish Hoka had left this one alone.

When these arrived I thought they were men's instead of women's. I've always worn the same size in running shoes. These were huge!

I returned these shoes because the opening to put my foot in was way too small. I am a big fan of HOKA, however, not being able to tie the lace is very frustrating. I am not a large person, 5'6" and weigh 135. My legs and feet are not heavy. I was very dieappointed

I wear tennis shoes everyday and have a terrible back. These are not the best, I think the Bondi's are way better.

I loved the Stinson ATR 4 but the version 5 is terrible. Not cushioned and has a new type of rocker that is very uncomfortable and feels unstable. In fact the recent iterations of this shoe, and the Cliftons have changed so much that I am very disappointed.

You canceled my order, but then sent me this email asking how I like my purchase. I wish your site had more accurate information on availability. I've been waiting a month for the shoes to arrive and never got an email saying you canceled my order.

The order was canceled and I was not made aware of that. The shoes were a Christmas present. Hoka does not communicate at all regarding orders status. In this day and age that is unacceptable. Also, the transaction shows up as an UGG purchase on your account w/o warning. I have ordered 2 pairs of shoes from Hoka directly and it takes a long time to receive them. I will continue to order Hoka shoes BUT not directly from Hoka.

These shoes were very uncomfortable. Very stiff and the outside resembled plastic. I've already returned them. I wear a size 7 and they never have my size available!

I'm a dedicated Hoka runner. This shoe should not even be considered 'plush'. Ran like a brick on my feet. Very disappointed because they are so stinkin' cute. But not even comfortable enough to replace my Bondi 6 to wear at school. Sorry Hoka, this was a miss. Consider making the others with the same upper pattern.

I have purchased a couple of different shoes with Hoka. I am not bashing the company. The shoe simply was not a match for my arch. The bondi 6 is the perfect shoe for my arch support.

Did not fit. I’m a size 7 but it felt too small. I called to get en exchange for 1/2 a sizes bigger. The cust rep wanted me to pay more then what I’ve purchased it for for this exchange, because she said the price went up for this model. Rip off!

Usually, I can't wait to get into my Hoka, but this time they were very rigid. I was disappointed as I used to have the same pair but no feeling of walking on air at all this time. Not too sure what happened

Tongue won't stay put. Heavier than the 4's. Don't like the material. My favorite shoes ever were the 3&4. Super disappointed. I recommend Hokas to EVERYONE. I will never wear another shoe brand but so disappointed in the 5's. My fav running shoe ever. Not sure why I'm going to do can't find 4's anywhere.

I was so sad that the new version of the Stinson ATR5 was inferior to the previous generation. It hurt my feet and the look is clunky. I returned it after light wear and I will not buy this shoe again until they improve the fit and look.
