I have loved all my Hokas but this hiking sneaker is cut a bit high that it painfully rubs the front side of my ankle. Unfortunately I am unable to wear them and wish I could return for a different model.

I bought these to replace my well used Hoka One Stinson ATR3, which fit me perfectly and were the best fitting pair of "sneakers" I think I have ever had. They supported my feet and stayed in great condition for a couple years of daily use. The ATR5, B width, is noticeably wider overall, and nearly too wide for me. I'm disappointed that I can't get that great fit I had in the ATR3 as the B width is the narrowest option in ATR5. Also, although minor, it's annoying that one of the laces had a thread pull on out of the box. I'm keeping the ATR5 and crossing my fingers that they hold up and the width doesn't become a problem if I lace them up tightly.

I have been a Hoka devote since the very first Bondi B came out. (The Mafate was too wide for me, so I wore those Bondis everywhere on the road and all over the CO mountain trails, even with those slick road soles.) Love the Hoka mix of low drop and loads of cushioning. Perfect for a mix of old injuries. Over the years, as the line has grown and changed, I have periodically had to switch models to find the right combo of features and fit. The Stinson ATR 4 was hands down my favorite shoe since the original iterations of the Bondi. Old-school Hoka ride and great features for a mix of surfaces ranging from technical singletrack to some pavement. I could even make it work for my very low volume, narrow feet by using some different lacing techniques. The Stinson ATR 5 doesn't feel the same at all to me. Hasn't broken in quite as marshmallow-y. Feels a bit slower/heavier, especially when I have to hit pavement for a few miles. Biggest problem, though, is that the less flexible upper makes it hard for me to dial in fit for my narrow feet, and no matter how I lace the shoes, the tongue WILL NOT stay put. Something about the change in the upper (probably in combo with the shape of my foot) means that the tongue is constantly creeping down into the shoe. I end up with a bunched up, uncomfortable tongue, and laces pressing against the top of my foot. Such a huge bummer, as I love Hoka and I absolutely adored the previous version of this shoe. I like the fit on the Speedgoat, but they don't work well for any crossover to pavement, and they don't really offer enough of that Hoka plush cushioning for my old injuries. Stockpiling ATR 4s and hoping that when the 6 comes around that the upper is better!

I miss the ATR4! The Stinson ATR4 allowed me to fully recover from foot surgery and tailor bunion infections. My podiatrist insisted these were the only shoe for me after a long period of post -surgery shoe/boot. She was right. The rocker bottom along with the wide toe box were and are the perfect shoe. Unfortunately, the new ATR 5 has a regular toe box which is not going to work. I feel really badly about this, but had to switch to another brand, ALTRA, with a good, wide toe box. They do not have the rocker sole, but until Hoka returns to the wide toe box, they will be my new shoe. I give the ATR 4 five stars, but the ATR 5 3 stars, only because of the toe box issue.

I am a nurse and spend many hours on my feet. I have always worn cliftons but bought these because they were listed as plush. My feet have never hurt more. I have always thought that there was a 30 day return for any with problems but too late have found this is not the case even to exchange

The tennis shoes are comfortable but my feet hurt worse when I take them off. The flip flops are fading on my feet. I do not think I would buy again. I thought about sending them all back but I am past the 30 day mark.

I am a Hoka devotee. I bought this style because my podiatrist recommended the late stage metarocker. They are comfortable and true to size. However the minute I start walking around in them, no matter the socks, they scrunch all the way down the heel and under my foot. I have had dozens of pairs of Hoka One ones, when one model works for me I keep buying it til they stop making it and then have to search for a good replacement. I have halix limitus and plantar fasciosis so choice of shoes is very important. HAS ANYONE ELSE HAD THIS SOCK PROBLEM with these shoes, or do you know how to prevent it? thank you

I am a long distance trail/road runner and I backcountry hike as part of my job, so I take my feet very seriously. My podiatrist recommended Hokas to me a few years ago and I've tried several models, coming to love the Stinson and the Bhondi. These Stinson 5s are so unlike the previous versions (3s and 4s) that I am highly considering regulating them to my every day footwear and retiring them from running with only about a month's use. While comfortable, I will echo other reviews: the sole is very stiff and shows no sign of breaking in, and the tongue is noticeably short. However, my biggest complaint is the weight. I haven't looked at the specs, but they FEEL like I'm wearing cement bricks on my feet (and this is at the beginning of my run). At first I thought it was me, and that I must badly need a rest day or two, but upon switching them out for another shoe my legs felt better immediately. I'm going to hold off on the Stinson hiker I was eyeing for work, and hope the 6s improve.

At first I found these shoes very comfortable. I thought I'd found a winner. I wore them around the house and around an indoor track. The longer I wore them, the worse they felt. They felt heavy on my feet. My legs ached and I couldn't wait to take them off. Never had that experience before with Hoka's. Well, now I have. I regret that I had to return them.

These felt great! Really comfortable. These look like they would have a good grip, but sadly do not. The bottom of the shoe, in the middle, has some funky tread that is really slick. Walking around outside and in the house was fine, but when it was raining, and I went inside a restaurant I felt really unstable, like my feet could slip out from under me at any point. Later thought I would give them another try, and same thing happened at the theater (again it was raining so the tread was wet). I didn't try these out on the trail, but guessing stepping on wet tree roots would be a disaster.

This brand was suggested to me I'm a trail runner / hiker The toe box sooo wide and tongue barely pulls up ,feels tight around top of foot Probably because I had to tighten laces due to toe box bigness Overall comfort and support good My feet don't hurt and that's great Will continue with different socks and lace adjustments to makes these beauties work for me

The m the Stinson are use to be much more fitted and cushioned. This model has a much wider toe area so my feet move around. The cushion is much firmer also. My feet get tired in this model, feel the trail more. I realize some may disagree but for me the Gina I use to love has changed too much

When you walk on a wet surface, the tread get's very, very slick and it's almost like ice skating. Very dangerous!!! No orthotics needed for plantar fasciitis. The insert the shoe comes with is wonderful and very shock absorbing.

The shoe felt too stiff on the trails and not used to the rocking sole compared to the speedgoat and the arch kinda hurt my foot so I sent them back and hoping to get another pair of speed goat 4 which I tried at RRS and they hurt my feet as well so may try the ATR again. Having plantar Fasciitis does not help painful.

These have a huge thick soul on them. Its as if they are high heels! They are very high and easy to turn your ankle in. I couldn't wear them at all due to instability from the height. The heel seems lower then the middle of the shoe so your achilles really have to stretch mid stride. I don't see how anyone can safely wear these. I was very disappointed.
