I wanted to replace my original Gaviota so I thought I would try the updated version. Shoe is similar....but the fabric isn’t as firm. Harder to get the tongue up and not quite as supportive. I think the shoe feels lighter too. Overall, it is comfortable with my plantar fasciitis- so, although I liked my original gaviota better...I am happy with this shoe.

I returned this but the wide size was not available. The return was hassle-free. I got a different model and am sill testing it but it seems fine with my orthotics.

It feels good on my heel and I feel the support there, but not in the toe box. It feels too narrow there and my toes end up crunching a bit. Other than that, they are a good pair of shoes for people who stand and walk for long periods of time. Be careful when the floor is wet. Depending on where you step, it can get slippery, since the sole is not slip resistant.

I tried to increase my miles walking to get excellent weight control (I am not overweight) but immediately got knee pain, as I have only 2 choices of walking paths: rough gravel or pavement. I reduced my miles, and got HOKAs to help me rehab my knees. HOKAs really helped, and I can walk 3-4 miles/day without pain. Still having knee pain, but not because of walking now, thanks to HOKAs.

I got these because i am a nurse & am on my feet all day. The bondi & Clifton wide didn’t quite fit my feet right, so i tried these & really like them. They are super comfortable. No they’re not the cutest, but when it comes to my everyday work shoe, it doesn’t really bother me. I recommend these to people who didn’t have luck with the other Hoka styles.

I purchased a pair of G2 black/Wrought Iron shoes in December and it was love at first step. They have held up well and are now my alternating training shoes as they approach 400 miles. In June I purchased a pair of G2 in the light blue sea foam color. They fit well and are very stable as well. Unfortunately they have broken down with less than fifty miles of use: the fore-foot strike area is completely worn thru. I would not be so concerned if I were a high speed runner, which I am not. I have a prosthetic right foot with several repairs to my knees thanks to military service (Navy doctors are the best) and my race pace averages around 12 minutes per mile.

This is my second pair of hokas. And I wanted to try the one with more stability however they make my toes feel pins and needles when walking I had ordered the same size not sure if I should have gotten a half size bigger

I owned a pair of Hoka trainers a couple years ago and decided to try them again. I've moved to a hot humid climate and have had trouble finding shoes that accommadate feet that swell, old tired knees and hips. I remembered how much I liked the pair of Hoka I'd worn before. I forgot to order extra wide and immediatly returned them for a replacement. I oredered on-line because there is no place nearby where I can try on and purchase a pair. I am disappointed it is taking so long for them to get back to me.

Like these better for structure than the Clifton 5 I had been using. Would like the structure to be a little more aggressive because I have a terrible flat arch on the right foot. However, noticeable difference in stability compared to the Clifton 5 (a shoe that I do like).

Ok, still breaking theses in at the gym. Comfy, but barely fit my orthotics and a thin pair of socks. Certainly not as wide as I expected. Seem lighter than my Beast, which is a good thing. And more stylish. Check back in a month for a real review.

Great overall shoe! Holds up great except for the mesh right at the top of the toe. I got a hole in one and started one on the other after only a couple weeks. Other than the glue spot I have now on my shoes I love them. If you could add a little more rubber around the top of the toe box they would be perfect! I now have everyone at work wearing them!

I've had a pair of these for a while now, when they were making them in fun colors. They are my favorite pair of workout shoes, ever. I had plantar fasciitis followed by a hairline fracture in my foot, and needed something sturdy yet cushy. This Gaviota was the answer for me! I went to purchase a new pair yesterday, and ended up reluctantly buying New Balance. I never realized how much I rely on fun/loud colors to get me psyched to go the gym, lol. Hoka, please fix! Thanks.

Fairly new distance runner. Went on first run after wearing mostly Brooks and this is a game changer for me. Finished without much pain at all. It appears that recovery time will also decrease.

I bought these because I overpronate. I thought I loved them and ran in them. I run daily, about two miles. I don’t know why it took me so long to figure it out (probably because they were comfy), but they gave me shin splints and aggravated my arches. I was nearing the end of a race and it got bad. So these would be fine for everyday wear, but not a great running shoe for me.

I have been wearing the same style and size of shoes and this pair doesn't fit the same. It's snug and seems smaller at the toe box. Show construction is still high quality, it just seems like the size has changed. I'm too old for my feet to grow :)
