This was bought due to an ankle reconstruction surgery over 2 years ago. Been having a hard time finding shoes that give me the proper ankle support along with a solid base for my heal to sit on.

Love the sneakers, the padding and the feel.
It feels a little weird on the toes tho.

I wear an 8.5 w in women's shoes, and when I tried on that pair of the gaviota 3, it was still too narrow and cut into my arch, so I saw these on sale on the website and ordered a men's 7w. Granted it's not as wide as I'd like, it fits between a women's medium and wide width, so I feel like reviews talking about how it's very narrow are correct. But given the price and comfort from the j frame and thicker soles, I feel like I kind of settled on dealing with the parts that weren't so comfortable. The insole still digs into my arch a little bit and the toe box isn't very wide, but it's one of those things where when I'm walking around and doing stuff, I don't really notice it. I would love it if future models had a wider arch and toe box, because it is very comfortable to stand and walk for long periods of time compared to my brooks ghosts, which feel like they have zero support. But as someone with a very wide toe area and plantar fasciitis, shoe shopping has been a bit tedious to find something comfortable. These aren't 100% perfect, but they're the closest I can get currently, and so far, the past 2 months I've had them they've held up great and my feet feel pretty good in them.

Like the shoe, but the toe box area is very small and I have narrow feet.

My love for all things HOKA runs wide and deep, but sadly the Gaviota no longer does. I am sorry to have to report for my fellow flatfoots, this Gaviota 3 Wide is much narrower than the Gaviota 2 Wide. Which I cannot understand. Sure. Make the regular width Gaviota any width you want. But PLEASE make the Wide WIDE. As it was. Thank you.

I'm on feet for at least 12 hrs a day and am overweight. I do my best to exercise daily and these are THE ONLY sneakers on the market that I don't need inserts when wewring! I wish they weren't so costly, because I am on a very strict budget. I also wish they came in other colors.

I've always had issues with shoes. Typically I find one shoe doesn't fit as well as the other. I've had leg/feet issues as a kid. I found a good shoe saleswoman 20 years ago and she said that I had a long arch so I need to buy bigger shoes. Since I've done that I've had fewer issues. I'd never heard of Hoka and did some research. My local shoe store sold them so I went and tried on two pair and both them both. Once was the Gaviota 2. I walk a 14 to 14:30 minute mile and do 8.3 miles in a stretch 3 times a week. I've really enjoyed this shoe. Recently I was wondering what was happening and I looked at the bottoms and the soles were toast! As you can read I'm walking fast and far and on a concrete path. I was a little disappointed. Today I just purchased another Hoka model and am going to track my miles to see if they're wearing out prematurely. The other Hoka's I purchased with the Gaviota 2 are the Challenger Low Gore-tex and I wear them casually so I'm not putting the miles on them.

I have struggled with shin splints my entire life- I can't even go on a walk in Nike sneakers without getting them. Once I found hokas, my shin splint woos completely went away. I recommend hokas to everyone and anyone. They are my go-to for buying gifts. The Gaviota was my second pair and I love them however, after a year or so, the plastic backs broke through the fabric and now they are unwearable. I'm not sure if this is a design of manufacturing problem but it is a bummer. It won't stop me from buying hokas but anyone looking to buy should be made aware as the same thing happened to my friend as well!

Loved the shoe but the colors I wanted were out of stock. So I bought the gray pair. Returned because the color looked like it should be for a men's shoe

Super cushy shoe, but too narrow. I purchased the Medium width - my usual width - and the shoe was too narrow. I have tried two other models of Hoka One One running shoes and found the same thing. I haven't tried a Wide width yet, I guess that's the next step.

Nice and breathable. Lightweight design. I love the wide toe box. I ordered a 2E and it's perfect!

I only gave you 4 stars, because of the colors... I think you do the hardest part in the design and performance, but forget about the visual!

Putting the shoe on is a bit of a challenge because I have hip issues and the tongue of the shoe goes in. The tongue isn't long like other shoes. After walking in them they are very comfortable and the cushion is great

The wide size, which normally is preferable to me is actually boat size. Unnecessary unless your feet are actually square. Pretty comfortable tho.

First pair started to speak after about 6 months of use so I grabbed a second, identical pair so I could not speak.

These are not as comfortable as Hoka One One Bondi 6, in my opinion, of which I own a pair and wear regularly. But at the discount price these Gaviota 2's are perfect for comfort and support for me everyday and I think people with average feet (meaning no foot conditions like I have) they would find them a good buy and very comfortable. After trying a few pairs of other brands, Hoka One One running shoes come out on top.
