I am a physician who spends considerable time running around the hospital. And I have a history of recurring plantar fasciitis. I have been so pleased with this brand and this style. This is my 3rd pair.

Have only had them on for 2 weeks after surgery. Loved how they felt from the time I put them on.

Loved the show, but it was clearly too big after a couple runs.

This was my first time trying Hoka, and I made sure to order from their site for that 30 day guarantee. The Akasa is a perfect amount of cushioning to fit between a Clifton and a Bondi, and feels sturdy. It has a little less tread than some similar models, but the sole felt springy for how much cushion there was. WAY lighter than they look, too!

I'm a 70 years-young Hiker. Occasionally, I venture into a 5K or 10K Race. This year, I was invited to take part on the July 4th Atlanta Peachtree 10K ( its 50th anniversary). Having a rotation of seven pairs of Hiking boots and three pairs of low-quarter Hiking shoes did not prepare me for the asphalt. After thorough self- study, reading reviews, and checks with friends, I finally decided to fast-walk with running shoes. I chose the Akasa (Hoka One One). They checked out as winner shoes right out of the box. Excellent fit. My strategy is to go past the start point at a steady 4 miles-per-hour-plus & never look back for nearly 1.5 hours till the end. At that speed, I always end up passing most runners on these races that I enter as a "Walkaton". The Akasa shoes should take me to the finish line on the 2019 Atlanta Peachtree 10K (or Hoka One One will get my feedback)...

I really loved the beds of Hoka shoes, the entire fit...except for the seams that ran from the tongue to the inside of the shoe. It ran right across the big toe joint, no stretch, no give at all. The Akasa relieved the problem. The new mesh upper is perfect, total relief. After 5 pairs of Hoka's I was ready to move on. As long as Hoka makes the Akasa or others like it I'll stick with Hoka.

I had to stop running for a bit because of a swollen bursa on the ball of my foot caused a lot of pain even to walk. While this is healing I have been going crazy not being able to run. I recently heard about Hoka and decided to try them out. I purchased the Akasa and went for my rest run this morning. I was so happy. I just did a 3.5 mile loop in Central Park to test them out and I am happy to report I had no foot pain, the shoe was light and comfortable and for the first time in a while, I enjoyed my run. I read the shoes are slippery, but even though the roads and sidewalks were wet, I did not experience any slippage. Great shoe.

I turned HOKA junkie about a year ago after discovering the Clifton 4 and now own the Clifton 1, 4, and 5, Bondi 6, and 3 pair of Cavus. For me, the Cavu WAS my fave because it has just the right amount of cushioning withoug being too soft or too rigid and is very lightweight. I'm a big guy, 6'1" and 260 lbs. I don't run anymore but I do use my sneaks for the gym and moderate aerobics. The HOKA Asaka hits just the perfect spot for me of all the ones I own. It's a bit more cushy than the Cavu but not as cushy as the Bondi. If I have one knock against the Cavu it's that it doesn't come in wide but it fits me ok. However, the Asaka does come in wide and fits just perfectly. For what I do, this is the perfect sneaker.

This shoe is plush but not over the top so energy return is snappy and the show is very responsive in the mid-sole; feels lighter than it is and runs somewhat narrow (good for me), true to size but I have put in some decent miles already on these and LOVE them! I'm ordering a 2nd pair in blue and rotate these. I've never run Hoka but I'm hooked.

This is by far my favorite Hoka shoe ever. I wouldn't really bill it as a running shoe, more of a cross trainer that you could run in. It is the perfect shoe for jumping rope for long periods of time. The sole is more than plush enough without feeling vague and squirmy. The shoe is extremely responsive, and it has nice springy energy return. The shoe has enough support for intense lateral movements. It is a great all around shoe. Ive been waiting for Hoka to create something more like a trainer that had the Hoka super plush cushion to ease the pounding that my big frame produces, the Akasa is the answer.Thank you Hoka.

My therapist suggested your brand in or the to fix my plantar fasciitis, this is my second pair I'm buying from you. I got to say the first one , size 9.5, worked pretty well, that's why I ordered the second pair, I like it very much, BUT, for some reason it fits too tight, so I'm sending you this pair for an exchange for an a size 10. May be, besides the cost, my only observation, a little bit more padding in the heels would be wonderful
