I have seen these boots advertised so many times and they look so cute in photos but on the foot they are not cute. The front is very big and looks like a duck bill! Also there is no arch support so I am sending them back. Thanks to Zappos this is an easy return and I appreciate it!

These are darling shoes and SO comfortable. I have a narrow foot and they were way too wide, my feet were slipping all over in them. I am sure they would be a wonderful option for someone with the right foot!

I am a true size 8 1/2 and ordered that size, which I sent back because my toes were right up to the edge of the boot. I exchanged for a size 9, which is better, but I have to say the fit is very strange. My feet slide forward in the boot when I walk, and they eat my socks. I am keeping them because they are very cute but I will definitely not be wearing them on days when I am doing a lot of walking. I usually love Born products, but they missed the mark on the fit and comfort of this one.

The fit was a bit short and tight across my foot. I couldn’t feel any arch support. Super cute style though.

I was disappointed in these. I normally love Born and they’re true to size. These were a half size too large even with thick socks. Also the toe of one shoe was badly scratched. I’ll think twice before I order Borns again. So disappointed!

Too small : ( Also, they felt as if they weren’t snug enough on top — they’d slip too much and not feel secure walking around in them. Sadly, am returning them.

High on style, low on comfort. I wanted to love these cuz they’re so stylish. But the toe box was too small for me and the heel was too loose. The footbed felt nice and cushiony. The leather is a beautiful natural look in the dark brown. Sadly, they must go back.

Loved these when they arrived, they were so cute! But, when I tried them on, they were SO small! I take a (normally) perfect 9 and 1/2, but it was so short! Didn't notice the heel slipping, as others have mentioned in their reviews, because my toes were so squished, I took them off before I even tried walking in them! I'm so disappointed -- I thought the arch support felt really good, it's a cute bootie, but wow! No way could I fit into it! Not trying the 10 because my foot is a bit narrow, so don't think that will work. If I end up trying it, and it fits, I'll add to my review. No complaints about Zappos, though -- always make it so easy to purchase and return.

I just don't understand the Born hype unless you have a narrow foot. They are always too narrow and too tight in the instep for me. I guess I have chubby feet. In an unrestricted shoe like a flip flop, I am a 7. I got these in an 8 and they were tight everywhere, including the heel. I am going to try the 8.5 just because Zappos has free returns and the shoes are SO cute. I really wish Born offered a wide width in all of their shoes because the styles are great.

I love the way these boots look and they felt like they'd be comfortable, but I'm a 9 and these felt 1/2 to a whole size too small. But, my heel slipped up and down easily so I'm not sure I want to try a bigger size. Oh well.

I love the style and I'd give it 5 stars if the heel area wasnt so wide. I tried heel pads but the boot still "eats my sox". Also would like the boot a little taller so I could wear with jeans.

Like others have said the heel runs wide for some odd reason!

I'm a big fan of Born shoes, normally they fit very well. I was not happy with the Tarkiln style; shoe was uncomfortable & felt cheaply made (surprising for Born shoes). Thankfully zappos has a great return policy, and I sent them back.

I really wanted thes to fit because I love the look. The length was perfect but they were too tight across the ball of my foot and too wide in the heel. i have a difficult foot to fit and was prepared to cushion the heel as is mentioned in other reviews if they fit in the front but...I just need to give up attempting to buy show online...

They are very comfortable but every sock I have tried with them slips down around my toes even when I’m not walking much. They look great too, but the sock issue is one I’ve never encountered before.

I wanted to have these boots and love them! I was very disappointed. My big toe hit the end of the boot. I wear a size 9 in most shoes and an 8.5 in my other Born shoes. I bought a 9 and it was too short. The boot had very little support and overall was too wide. The wideness caused my foot to slip around in the boot even as my toe was bumping the end. I can't justify keeping them even though they're very good looking boots.

Really cute boot, perfect color. But I'm running into the same problem with these that I run into with most boots. I usually wear a 10, but in Born, I need a 10.5. They don't make a 10.5 and the 11 is too big. So, unfortunately, these need to go back.

I have the Born Cross in size 8.5 which I have worn out ao decided on the Tarkiln and the size 8 was much too small and the 8.5 were great only if you wore no socks or wore then socks. With thick wool socks, you wouldn’t be able to zip them up! Otherwise, love the style and the colours and the cushioning! It’s just finding the right fit that is the issue!

Even though I love the look of these, I have to return them because of the strange fit. I agree with the other reviews which say that the heel is oddly wide and easy to step out of. On another sizing note, in most shoes, I'm either an 8 1/2 or 9, preferably wide. So I ordered these in a 9 the first time. On the bright side, the width was fine. It was the length that was the problem -- these def run short. So I exchanged for a 9 1/2 and that length was better, but then the heel was the obvious problem. Such a shame, since they're cute. I really like the taupe/grey color, too.

The heel is just too wide as many other reviewers said too. I had to send them back.
