I absolutely LOVE these shoes, and they are the only shoes I want to wear 24/7. My feet are narrow, with extremely high arches, and I supinate (mildly). My right foot is size 7-1/2 and my left foot is size 8. I am comfortable with a size 8 (medium) in these shoes. I was an Emergency Medicine and Critical Care physician for ~30 years, working 40+ consecutive hours on my feet, two to three times each week, year after year, always standing, walking and running through hospitals, non-stop. Finally, I developed neuropathy, plantar fasciitis and metatarsalgia in both of my feet. Now, the first thing I do in the morning is slide my feet into these shoes. Otherwise, I cannot stand or walk because of the severe pain in both of my feet. I’ve tried almost every brand and style of shoes available. I wish I knew about these shoes years ago because I most likely would not have developed my severe foot issues. All that being said, my husband (also a physician), prefers the stability of the Brooks Adrenaline 20, claims the Adrenaline has a more "responsive" insole, and he wears a "wide" because he believes Brooks shoes are too "narrow" in the forefoot region. I mention all this because my husband is correct — if you prefer more "space" in the forefoot region and more stability, with "motion control" from your shoes, the Glycerin 17 is not the shoe for you. However, the new "18" version of the Glycerin is a "compromise" between the Adrenaline 20 and Glycerin 17. This Glycerin 17 shoe is best for narrower feet, and the arch support is "okay" for my excessively high arches (certainly, I would have preferred far more arch support, but the shoe is stellar for all my other foot issues). Also for comparison, I would wear a Salomon Speedcross 4, if I were to hike trails — and those are long, narrow shoes. I’ve tried many other styles of Brooks, and these are the most "cushioned" and the most "narrow" for my taste. The Ghost 12 was also quite comfortable with better arch support, but not as cushioned as the Glycerin, which I truly require for all my neuropathy and inflammation issues. Best of luck, and many thanks to Zappos for being AMAZING!!!

I need a wider and taller toe box because of bunion and flat feet with toes that like to spread. This style doesn’t come in E E. Otherwise it’s a keeper.

These are my favorite sneakers - I buy the new style of Glycerin year after year. I think the 17 is my favorite version to date. The color choices were better and the stretchiness around the laces makes them easier to put on.

I LOVE THIS SHOE!! I have terrible feet and have a hard time finding good shoes. These are perfect in the toe area for my hammer toes to give plenty of comfort. I usually have a lot of arch pain as well after wearing shoes for a continuous amount of time. These do not give me any discomfort after wearing them all day!! They are super lightweight and perfect for walking outside or on the treadmill. Definitely recommend!!

Love these shoes! After having back surgery and not being able to run anymore I got into walking! I purchased my first pair almost a year ago and trained to walk the Army Ten Miler last October. These shoes performed beautifully!! I was so impressed I purchased another pair! Toe box is great and the cushioning is amazing. I sized up one half size. SO many color choices. Thank you Brooks for a fabulous shoe!!

I have plantar fasciitis & these were recommended for it. I'm very happy with the comfort of these! I wore them to walk in Disneyland for 3 days. I did break them in for a week before, just to be safe. But walking over 10 miles a day at the park, I had no pain, no blisters, not 1 issue. I highly recommend these. My friend bought the exact same pair to exercise with & she loves the comfort as well.

Bought my first pair of Brooks on customer reviews in comparison with Alta's. Although both brands fit, the Brooks, which I got in a wide had a better arch support. Alta did not come in wide - but they make them wider so not a big deal. My last pair or Alta was comfortable but not for a lot of walking due to inadequate arch support. These Brooks feels great and have worn them on several walks already. They have a wide toe box which accomodates my toe issues.

I usually don't take the time to review anything, but these shoes deserve a review. For years I have bought inserts for my athletic shoes because every shoe on the market had zero arch support or cushion. It seemed like athletic shoe companies assumed people were buying inserts so why bother to design and build a shoe with proper support. Brooks has definitely proven to be the exception to the rule. When I first put them on to test the length of the shoe before putting in my insert, I was amazed by the support and cushion built in to the shoe. No need for an insert at all. (It's tragic that I was amazed but that is not an exaggeration, I was.) They fit true to size. (If you still opt for an insert out of habit, you should go up 1/2 size.) The shoe is also well ventilated. I would normally not choose to spend this much on an athletic shoe, but these were well worth the price tag.

These shoes are so cushioned and supportive! I purchased my first pair last August and immediately my running was given a new life. I was able to go further and faster as soon as I slipped them on. I can't say enough good things about them! I was down with plantar fasciitis and these helped me get back to running.

Love this sneaker. However, they changed the laces on this one and not happy with the quality of them. Other than the laces the sneakers are very comfortable

I love the glycerin. I have the Brooks revel, transmitt and glycerin and the glycerin are by far the most comfortable. I normally wear a 6 1/2 but need a 7 in Brooks. Plenty of toe box room in Brooks. I did find the black iridescent runs slightly larger than the other colors in this style for some reason. Another customer noticed the same thing. The 7 fits but has a bit more room. I may have been able to do a 6 1/2 in the iridescent but aside the glycerin are my favorite in comfort. I ordered two in the iridescent because I like the color so much and the new 18 are here so these will sell out soon. The iridescent are harder to find. I like the black with just a bit of other color. Goes with a lot.

These are the best Glycerins yet! I have them in four colors. They are so great on my feet! I use them for all my work outs and for work. I am a teacher and on my feet all day and they are the best! Glycerins have been my favorite shoe so far (I have the 15, 16, and 17's) and the 17's are the best looking yet. I am so disappointed in the colors and style they have come out with for the 18's. I will just stick with my 17's!!

I just purchased these, and I will wear them around the house for a few hours to make sure I don't need a half size longer. With that being said, these shoes more comfortable than my Glycerin 16s. Out of the box, they did not squeeze my feet a little like all of my other shoes do! I am thrilled (sounds silly - even though I buy Wide shoes, I hate sitting in a chair and having the feeling that my shoes are squeezing my feet) Arch support feels good and the shoe is light and flexible. Also plenty of cushion when I walk! I might buy another pair... Thanks, Zappos!
