the only thing is i don't like is the color i prefer the brown/ blue or brown/pink they use to be, please bring them back. also there not the 608v5 that i ordered, there just the 608

Perfect fit - looks right with a little "throwback" appeal. Feels right - not too tight or loose. Just right.

Have been buying this model for years. Hope the soles stay on better than the last version! I didn't notice the 409 was listed, probably a good move!

I haven't had a chance to use the shoes a lot because of me having knee replacement surgery just here recently but what little bit I have used to have him I really like

I work on my feet all day, and I wanted a shoe that would be comfortable without looking inappropriate in the workplace. So far the shoe has held up very well, although there was an initial breaking-in period. The black color is perfect for an office environment. The non-slip soles are a plus, although it is too soon to say how well they work. Best feature is the price -- I tried several other models in the USD90+ range and these fit my feet much better (although that is a matter of personal preference). This will probably be my go-to shoe in the future.

They fit well but they need to stretch just a little. My small toe gets pinched by the end of the day

Purchased for walking just proir to Christmas direct from New Balance - as a long-time user I have found the newer iterations of some shoes to be smaller in width than the older types, and this shoe is no exception. I will need to break this in slowly and see if it ends up being a better fit width-wise than it is now, and since the difference is small that may happen. Until then the jury is still out on this shoe. I am a retired nurse and have worn NB shoes virtually to the exclusion of all other brands for more than 15 years - sad to say the NB company seems to be following so many others by trying to see how cheaply they can make every product as they change managers who want to make a name for themselves by cost cutting. The result, in too many cases, is that at some point the item no longer is the same as it once was due to so many cost cuts and cut corners, and the buying public moves on to another brand. But, hey, the whiz kids got their bonuses and promotions.......right? We'll see how this shoe works out, but my review is only one of dozens available showing the same changes in quality to the detriment of the product and the end users. New Balance used to have the lock and key on repeatable widths, but as it now appears that has been relegated to the past. -- Break-in period starts today New Years Day 2020. --- JayD

I have to wear a wide shoe because of inserts. They are not easy to find. 608 is a good product, definitely will buy again BUT a little disappointed that I had to buy them online. They didn't have any in stock at the store level. You also need to give women a bigger selection in a wide shoe.

This shoe is more than adequate for most athletic applications. Mine get used hard and hold up well. It would be great if New Balance would make more shoes in B width for those of us with narrow feet! Don't abandon the narrow foot market NB- we need you out here!

It's very hard for me to find comfortable sneakers because of the my feet. I have flat feet with a larger bunion on my right foot than my left foot which makes my feet just a little wider than the average D width. These are great for sports with tennis like motion. It's a little heavy but you get used to it. My feet do get a little sweaty in there though, wish it had a little more breathability.

I REALLY LIKE THESE SHOES BUT I WISH THEY WOULD MAKE THE SHOES THE SAME SIZE EVERY TIME. BECAUSE I AM 69 YEARS OLD AND AND I KNOW MY FEET DON'T GROW ANY MORE. I WARE SIZE 11 4E SO I ORDERED 11 1/2 4E AND WHEN I RECEIVED THEM THEY WERE STILL TO SMALL. SO I GUESS IF I BUY AGAIN I WILL HAVE TO ORDER A SIZE 12 4E AND SEE IF THAT WORKS.

I have been wearing new balance shoes for 20+ years. I love the way they fit. They wear well and never let you down. I bought these as a replacement for my last pair and look forward to many months of walking and working out.

I work for the US Post Office, these babies are the bomb. I have not experience any slipping or sliding on multiple surfaces, actually I did on a little ice. They're very comfortable once broken in which took a day wearing at work. I gave it 4 stars because I recently ordered 2 pairs and one of the two pairs is a size small, so sizing may be an issue.

I have worn New Balance for more then 20 years and most of those years wearing the 608. They feel good. I am a daily walker and these shoes work very well for me. I like the wider sole and feel more stability with these on.

I bought them for working out and they are very comfortable.
