These are the perfect chelsea boots. Beautiful smooth leather, a durable sole, comfortable right out of the box, and not too high in the boot shaft so they look great with rolled-up jeans. They are waterproof as promised and fit TTS. These have become my go-to boots for the cold, wet winters here in Ohio. Easy to dress up or down. Zero room for improvement! So glad I purchased these.

I am a wide 8 so I originally ordered the 8.5, the width felt good but they were too long so my heal had room to shift and rub and the ankle opening was very big. I ended up ordering the 8 and they are snug across the toes but fit great length wise and have a much narrower ankle opening. I was surprised how big of a size difference there was between the 8 and 8.5, if there was an 8 wide available that would be perfect but I decided to keep the 8s and they are stretching slightly with wear. Overall the boots are extremely comfortable. I've worn them to work a couple times and walked over a mile and they were comfortable right out of the box. No rubbing or blisters at all. The sole has good traction and insole has good support. I will say that they don't breathe terribly well but I think that is to be expected for a waterproof boot so no complaints. I'm very happy with the look of the boots, they can easily be dressed up or down and go well with a variety of outfits.

These are nice boots, as pictured, but they did not fit me. I wear wide width and tried sizing up a half size to compensate. It sometimes works, but not in this case.

The width is true to size, but the length of this shoe is a bit long. So, the shoe appears slightly too big.

i echo the complaint about no 10.5 size option. i ordered 11, to allow for thick winter socks. i'd wear them a whole lot more, if my socks didn't slip down within the first 100 steps. i love the look, feel, quality, so i'm keeping them, but i wanted to order the green in 10, to see if that helped w/ sock slide, but out of stock. :( i just now have to "schedule" wearing them where i know i can take them off & pull up my socks! haven't been able to test warmth or waterproof levels, either, yet.

Boot looked good (the green suede) & seemed comfy - in the short time I tried them on & walked around the house. I take an 8.5 in pretty much all my other shoes & boots, but the 8.5 in this 1 was just that bit too big in length for me (my heel was slipping up & down & I had a lot of extra toe room - length wise). Width wise it was fine for me - but bear in mind, I do have narrow feet. If they'd had a size 8 in the green suede in stock, I'd have done an exchange, but unfortunately they didnt so I had to return these. I still gave good score as it was nice looking & comfy. Knocked 1 star off for being too big.

They seemed a little big and my heel was slipping. I'm going to try a half size down.

The boots look a little clunkier than I had hoped but the fit is good and they are reassuringly nonskid. It is a bit annoying that the inner lining slips out sometimes when the boots are removed, but I can live with that.

I really wanted to love these shoes, and I actually do -- but they're not quite right for me. The fit was very good (with and without orthotics) and the arch support excellent. I ordered in dark green and brown; that's how much I wanted to own them; I thought it was just a matter of color. But the style was just a wee bit too rugged for me, and they looked a tad clunky on my foot. Sadly, I returned them, but still recommend to others looking for an attractive waterproof chelsea boot.

These felt so good, but they were a little bulky. Born is a great shoe for comfort, but I just didn't love the way the looked.

I have a pair of these from about 5 years ago that are higher quality and more comfortable. The front portion of the shoe rubs against the front part of my legs.

These were gorgeous but extremely tight and narrow. I have a normal width foot and had a hard time putting these on with thick wool socks. I am the type that can buy average-width shoes anywhere, but these were insanely tight–especially across the toes, instep, and heel. I was sad to return them because they are so stylish and the quality was amazing. I thought I might have swollen feet, so I tried them again two days later early in the morning, same issues.

This is a wonderfully comfortable boot. I ordered several different Chelsea boots and this was the most comfortable. I sent the rest back. The issue? It is NOT waterproof. The first time I wore these in the rain, my socks were wet. These are not seam sealed. If you are looking for a boot that you can wear in ANY weather, this is not it.

I really wanted to like these boots. They seemed good the first few times I wore them but then the soles my feet began to ache. They are fine to wear for an hour or two but not all day.

Very comfy shoes. However, I didn’t care for the heel and the stitching along the boot.

Love these boots - except my socks completely slide down under my arches. I’ve tried with smooth socks and also with smart wool close fitting socks. I’m very sad to have to return these . But I can’t stand the Socks under my arches feeling. Otherwise super comfortable and fit well.

I liked these, but I wasn't a huge fan of the dark gray color, and while they fit well enough in length and width, I was looking for a bit more arch support or "comfortability".

The fit is tricky on these. I ordered 7.5 and 8. I usually wear a 7.5 or EU 38, but an 8 or EU 39 - sometimes higher - in athletic shoes. In this shoe, the 7.5 is marked as an EU 38.5, and it does indeed feel every so slightly larger than my size 38 shoes. Like halfway between a 7.5 and an 8. (The 8 is marked as a 39.) Also, the shoe definitely fit more snug when I first tried it on, and I almost went with the 8. Really glad I didn't. The upper felt looser after a few wears. The other unique thing about the fit is that the 7.5 and 8 appear to be exactly the same length. They even use the same removable insole, marked "7.5-8" on the bottom. (Though it's slightly longer than any of my size 8 insoles at home). However the size 8 boot has a looser fit all around the upper, especially the shaft - more space behind the ankle. Since I'm wearing thicker socks and my own insoles, the quarter to half size difference in the 7.5 is actually fine...except for the fact that my heel still slips a lot. But my heel slips in most shoes, so I'm keeping them because I'm hoping I can switch out the insoles to customize the fit a bit better around the heel. The snuggest part of the shoe is the vamp/instep, which is fine for me because I have low arches and a snug vamp helps with the heel slip issue, but if you have high arches that might be an issue, although again, the suede does stretch. The toe box fits fine and accommodates my bunions. Aside from the heel slip issue, they are comfy and light. I also use a wider insole than the original one, and it fits fine. Also, I haven't had any issues with the boot pulling down my socks as others have, but I always wear wool crew socks with boots.

So I have horrible feet, maybe I’m not a good judge but there was nothing about this boot I liked. I ordered my usual 8-8.5 which was a size 30 on the box, they’re huge. Also really wide which could work for someone with a wider foot. Overall not a good fit or look for me.

These looked big and clumsy on me--almost like a man's boot.

I've worn Born booties for several years. I need a round toe to accommodate my large feet (size 11) with moderate bunions. These boots look good and have a round toe. But they are very heavy, and they didn't immediately feel comfortable. I can't have my toes hitting the end of the shoe, and I can't count on any stretch in that area, so I must return them. Thanks to Zappos for their wonderful return policy!

This boot was just way too narrow. I have a wide foot but saw other reviews saying it would accommodate a wide foot. It was VERY narrow for me.

Runs small - scratched first day

This shoe is probably fine if you are a size six, or maybe a seven. But the opening is very narrow and the stretch gussets have almost no stretch. So if your foot is longer, you are not going to be able to pull the shoes on easily. They are okay once you get them on, but who wants the hassle. Plus they are not nearly as comfortable as my other Born boots, and the heal/sole side trim looks like cheap plastic. Definitely not a $200 boot.
