Very cute boots!! But with my high arches and no side zippers, I couldn’t even get these boots on. I had to return them.

I never write shoe reviews but I am genuinely baffled by these boots. I am an 8.5 90% of the time. Reading reviews, I also ordered a 9. But these have no zipper - how on earth are you supposed to get them on? I got my foot into the 9 but they were way too big. Absolutely could not get my foot into the 8.5 despite basically doing yoga poses trying. Also, the 8.5 were a pretty grayish color, while the 9's were brown. But I ordered both in the same color, Smoke. I wish these had worked.

These boots are adorable. The problem with them is that it’s extremely difficult to pull them on. After 30 min of trying to get these boots on, I was finally able to get them on while wearing tights. Even then, it was difficult. I was sweating trying to get these boots on. I am going to keep them because they are lovely. I am just going to accept they are very hard to put on. I am also hoping they will stretch over time.

These boots are BEAUTIFUL and I managed to catch them on the sale of the year for $119! But, unfortunately I could not get them up past my calves. I don't have big legs, but they are not small and they don't have a wider option. I am sooooo sad because I wanted to keep them but oh well, I must send them back.

Didn’t work for me. Mainly because of how hard it was to put on and off and i didn’t like the bottom sole. It felt like plastic instead of rubber and too slippery for me. With snow and ice here on sidewalks, I can’t risk it. Regarding the size, I didn’t need to size up. The boot fit true to size for me.

When my boots came I loved them the minute I opened the box. However,I Was so disappointed when it took me ages to practically squeeze my foot in. I really wish these boots had a zip, even a half zip would be good. Once I squeezed into them the fit was perfect so I think even a half size up would be too big and not sure how much easier they would be to put on/off. They were very stiff but I’m sure they would soften with time. The one thing that really made me return them(eventually after trying to break them in) was the fact they rubbed so bad under my right ankle that it broke the skin. For the price of these boots I would expect them to feel and fit like a slipper.....so disappointed as I loved the color and style and looked for so long for the perfect boot!

I bought a size 11 because that’s the size that’s been fitting me best. The boot slips up and down at the back of my heel, which would be ok if the inside of the boot in that area wasn’t so hard. They give me blisters. They’re a little slim at the area where the ball of my foot is. It gets uncomfortable after a while, on the sides. Please understand that boots have no zipper. You have to really wedge your foot in the boot. I have to push and pull and move the foot around to get it in. If you’re prone to feeling claustrophobic, just don’t. It’s not easy. It’s hard to get the foot all the way in. There’s definitely no padding inside. For me, even buying the large size, they’re too tight fitting to wear an extra pair of socks, so they’re not great for cold weather. They look nice. I would return them, but I got them really dirty the first weeeknd I wore the, so I feel like I shouldn’t. Would not buy again.

This is a great looking boot, I just couldn’t get my foot all the way in to it. The boot is narrow around the ankle and it was impossible for me to get my foot all the way on. I ordered a 7 1/2 which is the size of another pair of Frye boots I have that fit great, but there is a zipper on those. Pretty boot and great service with Zappos... they just didn’t fit.

I'm a size 7 in every shoe I purchase but I'm telling you- I couldn't even get them on! No zipper on the side, so that intersection where your foot has to make it past just above the heel on the boot- it was a NO GO. After struggling I got ONE foot in and I was sweating. My left foot my be slightly larger because it was literally just stuck- there was no way I was going to get my foot in there. I was SO SAD to return them because they are GORGEOUS boots. I'm going to order a larger size and get insoles if they are too big. I need these boots! Ps. They smell really good- brand new lovely leather. #swoon I'm crossing my fingers getting a size up will be a guarantee fit.

Unfortunately, these were defective - very noticeable "pinch pleat " where there shouldn't have been on the left boot calf; also the top rim of the same boot missing about a 1/2" of "cord" right in the front- noticeable flat spot there. Otherwise would have been great - deep brown color, good leather, good fit if your feet are on the narrow size - though the ankles were a bit narrow and had to force my foot through on both boots. Once in, these were great Frye comfort. There is Frye's nasty habit of forgetting that a boot with a lug sole beneath the ball of your foot means you really ought to have a lug sole on the heel as well - smooth and slippery as all get out, and I don't walk on my tiptoes. Would have taken them to a cobble to get a proper lug sole on the heels(done that w my other Fryes, no problem) but the defective left boot was a deal breaker. Bummed as I got a extra discount on them AND as Zappos used the USPS to send them(instead of UPS) they were a royal pain to get - Post Office wouldn't deliver them "one business day" as promised, and then ended up informing me that "the box is oversized and to come pick them up at the postal facility "... but only AFTER two "attempts" were made. Bad experience all around. Hazard of internet shopping I guess! Back they go!

I was so excited to get this boot but what in the actual heck? Who designed these? I sized up after reading reviews...couldn’t even get my foot past the shaft of the boot. These are tiny and I was sweating bullets just trying to get them on! My 17 yr old who weighs 100 lbs couldn’t get her foot in either. Very disappointing. Now I know why they were 70% off. Sadly they are going back.

Ok. These boots are crazy... I ordered a 7.5. I am normally a 7, but after reading the reviews I went up a bit. Sooo. They come, and are WAY too big. Ok. I send them back for a 7. I just got the boots, nice and quick service...but...I can't even get my foot in the boot!!! I'm so disappointed. How can a half size differ so much?!? Especially in a "better" brand like Frye?!?? Oh well..I should know better than to buy before trying on?

Purchased in the cognac and the color was very patchy and ugly, not like in the photos. Returned.

I own a half dozen Frye boots and this one fits like none other. First of all, it feels like it is a size smaller than the other boots. The width is off too. Very narrow. I wore these for one hour before I had to take them off. NEVER have I had this issue with Frye. I am so disappointed.

I have wanted some Frye boots for awhile so the Black Friday sale seemed like the time to do it. Other reviews said they run narrow so I sized up half a size. They were loose in the heel and squeezed my toe box even with thin socks. They are were bulkier looking in person than online. I expected to be blown away by a different look and good quality but they were just ‘meh’. I couldn’t wear them comfortably and even for half off they are too expensive to keep.

I have to agree with the previous reviewer. I have narrow feet, moderately high arches and average sized female calves. These boots were extremely narrow, tight and ill-fitting. I am a 9 in Frye's so that's what I went with here, and they were strangely too long in the toe but my heel felt jammed in and pinched. If you have even remotely wide-ish feet you probably won't even be able to get them on. I couldn't really wear them on top of skinny jeans because the calf area was extremely restricting. (I was able to get them on over my jeans, but it wasn't pretty) I realize they are a higher quality leather and will definitely need break-in time but I'm not going to keep them to find out. I don't think professional stretching would even be the answer. I purchased the Smoke and it was a lovely dark charcoal grey. :-(

These boots are very tight on the leg, I do not have large calves, and do not have this problem with other Fryes. The back of the boot where your heel goes is very tight, uncomfortable, and poorly made. I really wanted to like these but they don't work.
