I'm a normal size 8. I have normal feet, maybe a bit on the thinner side . I'm 5'8" and I also have thinner calves. I've finally found a boot that looks good with my long legs and skinny calves. I was nervous about ordering because people said they were too tight to pull on at the ankles. I put on a thinner sock and pushed. They fit great. Being leather, they will only get better and I most likely will be able to barefoot in them in the summer once they are worn in. I am very happy with my choice. I love the leather smell.

I have fairly wide feet and was worried when some said they could not get their fit in... but I tried these on and they literally fit like a glove! They are the perfect tall brown boots - already have a patina to them which I love!

Love these boots! They have a western "feel" and a great color. Most of all, I like that the calf is tall and form-fitting. They will look sharp with jeans or a denim skirt.

I wasn't sure at first, especially regarding color. I knew I needed a tall pair of boots (mostly for my fantasy life where I live everyday and beautiful prairie chic dresses), but also for practical purposes in winter. I selected two different styles, and the Melissa Button Lug Tall won! I was surprised! I had anticipated preferring the other style (also by Frye). What I like about this style is the shaping of the calf. I have smaller calves (although recently more muscular), and usually have WAY too much room. These are still roomy, but they look cute anyway, and I belive it is because the calf has some shaping to it, coming in more at the top. I wore these for a day, and was very pleased with how comfortable they were, I anticipate there will be a little breaking in on my left foot (which tends to need a little extra room and a little extra breaking in, but I think it will be a quick and easy process. The leather is durable and dreamy feeling inside and out. I wore them barefoot around the house at first and was very happy with how lovely they felt on my bare feet. The soles have a nice cushion to them (but not too much). I greased these up with plenty of Obenauf's Heavy Duty Leather Preservative and am happy with the darker color they now have, and the beautiful smell. These will be worn all fall/winter/spring. I know the current trend is more toward an ankle boot, but these meet a need, and they are a forever boot. I love that they are pull on, so I'll never have to worry about fussing with a zipper, and I think it allows a heavier/nicer leather to be used. This is the kind of shoe that only improves with wear. I look forward to wearing these for many years to come!

Super cute, ordered an 11. They seems a little snug around the sides of my feet, but feel like they would stretch a bit over time and be comfortable.

For a Frye boot they fit better than the others I've tried and if I had decided to keep them I may have been able to wear them in. They felt tight on my toe area and I needed more cushion in sole. I could also put in insoles, but I decided to just start over. The style is basic and classic and the leather was lovely and smelled luxurious. The profile is super sharp as well.

These boots are just GORGEOUS! They're the perfect height, the shaft was PERFECT for my athletic calves, but they were just too snug in the toe box (even with a thin sock on). I read the reviews and ordered a half a size larger than my normal 8.5. My other Melissa Buttons are 8.5. I might order the 9.5 but I feel like they will be too long in the foot bed, as the 9's were roomy at my heel. I wish they fit like my other Melissas, they are beautiful boots! I had to send them back, too expensive for the fit not to be perfect.

I had to return the boots. They fit my calf fine and took a minute to get on like most fitted slip on boots. I have another pair of Frye boots but they have a zipper. Same size that I ordered but fit better. This pair my heel slipped a little. But I think if I went a half size down they would be very snug and take time to stretch to be comfortable. I guess not all Frye boots fit the same. Good quality product. Great color.

I love Frye and this is a classic, gorgeous boot. However it did feel small and I had to return to size up. I ultimately went with a different model (Molly Button Tall), and also had to size up with that pair.

I love the look of these boots.The quality was great. So happy to pick them up at a super sale price. Unfortunately I could not even get my foot in the foot bed. I own 10 others pairs of Frye boots & i find it is really is a hit or miss for me. These were simply not meant to be.

Im an 8 in my Frye combat and so I ordered an 8. The left foot fit like a dream, and so did the right with the exception of it being really tight in the toe box. It squeezed my pinky toe on the left. Im going to wear them around the house for a couple days to see if they stretch. I haven't heard good things about the cobbler in town so I am fearful of taking them there. Im thinking Ill order the 8.5 for comparision.

I got a great deal on these, and they arrived in a timely manner. They are gorgeous, thick leather, if a bit more workmanlike in appearance than I expected. I wanted lug soles for the snow (upstate NY), but I'm not sure if the rest of the soles are actually leather or plastic (I could use a match to test this but haven't yet). Your tick boxes above re: sizing don't actually do justice to my experience. I am a true size 7, but I have bad bunions and a narrow heel - thus I usually have to order a half size up in boots. This boot is not available in W, which is too bad. The 7 1/2B boot is actually a bit too long (as one would expect with 7 1/2) but pinches the hell out of my bunion area (as one would expect with a 7B). So, the sizing doesn't really work for me in either direction. However, I got a great deal on the boot, and I've already worn it outside, so my plan is to try to break it in. I can put heel guards in the back to keep my heels from slipping...and I have leather boot stretchers (imperative due to the bunions!) that I can try to fix that problem. I admit, I have a hard foot to fit - but if you do too and you don't want to go to some additional trouble to get the boot to fit, you probably want to look elsewhere.

I’m usually a 9 or 9.5. I ordered these in a 9.5. They were very hard to get my foot down the shaft of the boot but once in they fit great. I did order a 10 to see if that helped. Was easier to slip into boot but once on way too big so stayed with the 9.5. I’ve worn them 3x for long periods of time & they are just right. They smell amazing & are very good looking boots!

I wear a 10 and they fit good but my heel was slipping. Great leather and material - a little stiff but I'm sure would have loosened up with wear. They were too big on my smaller calves so they went back.
