Beautiful boots, just what I was looking for, but, not a nice comfortable Birkenstock feel. Such a disappointment!

These boots are gorgeous, with soft leather and great craftsmanship. I read the other reviews before I bought them, so I knew they'd be snug at the ankle, and I've worn all kinds of Birkenstocks over nearly 30 years so I knew my size was right. What nobody else has said, though, is that, even if I stretched the leather over the ankle, the way the closed heel is built puts the arch support in exactly the wrong place. There was the expected room in the toe box, and I got the boot on my foot, but the support at the heel pushed my foot forward too much to be comfortable at the arch. Going up to the next size was out of the question, based on length. I have to send them back and I'm so disappointed - I thought I'd found the perfect boot.

Love the style, however other reviews ring true: very difficult to put on even with a shoe horn

I loved these boots from the first time I saw them. Only thing is I typically wear a 42 in Birkenstocks and the 42 was too short in length for me on this boot :(. If they would have had them in a 43 that would have been perfect! It was a little strange how the zipper didn't go all the way up the boot so you had to kinda work your foot in, but I'm sure over time that would have stretched out enough to be easier to get on and off. Otherwise the sole felt great, they looked great... just wish there would have been the larger size to go up to.

I ordered erring on the side of needing a bigger size, and they are too big. Great craftsmanship.

So Disapointing! The boots were beautiful but I had to return them as I could not get my feet in them. The zipper should have gone all the way to the top not just on the ankle.

I wear Birk Arizonas almost exclusively until the temp drops, then my feet/back/knees suffer until spring when it’s warm enough for sandals again. I’ve been eyeing the Birk Bostons for winter but really prefer a fully enclosed shoe for slogging thru cold and damp. I had high hopes when I saw these boots. Alas the insole on these is not nearly as thick or supportive as the classic Birk footbed. Looks like I’ll be getting the Bostons or shearling Arizonas instead.

I didn't have any trouble getting these boots on even with the weird zippier placement but they didn't seem to have any arch support. I wanted to love them but decided not to keep them.

These boots could be so cute, but are very stupid. The zipper does not go all the way to the top. I could only pull them onto one foot. It looked great on that one foot. After struggling for 5 minutes to pull them on the other foot, I put them back in the box. What is the point of the zipper if you can't easily pull the boots on and off. Returned with sadness.

Full disclosure I have a shallow foot and a narrow heel, so finding a shoe that fits is difficult. Overall it felt really loose and the stiff inside wall of each boot rubbed all the skin off my ankle bones just while trying them on. Sent them back.

These run super snug compared to any of the many Birkenstock’s I have tried. I even sized up and still couldn’t get my foot in. This may be because of the poor zipper design that isn’t the full length of the boot.

I LOVED the look of these and are sad to send them back. YES, they are hard to get on but not impossible. I had to use a shoe horn. But, I have arthritis in my big toe and the boot put pressure on that very spot. Sad to return but not comfortable on my foot....

I read another review before I bought these and she said she couldn't get them on. I was able to get them on after a struggle with a shoehorn. Consequently I returned them.

Was able to get on the right boot with ease, but could not put on the left boot, so I had to return the pair.

horribly designed boots. the side zipper does not go all the way to the top - it stops several inches below the top of the boot making it a real challenge to even get the boot on! Really - what were they thinking with this design? So after a 5 minute struggle trying to put my size 8.5 foot into a size 9 Birkenstock Sarnia I quit. I do not know if the actual shoe part of the boot would have fit my foot or not, I do not know if the width was good or bad and I do not know if the support was good or bad. I do know that the design is horrible and purchasing them was a complete waste of time and money. I sent them back to zappos as a return. The really bad part about returning them is that now someone else may buy them - YIKES Don't Buy Them PLEASE.

Such a cute boot, but then upon trying to get your foot in it...it is impossible! The opening is incredibly small. So unfortunate.

Cute boots, but I could not get them on my feet. The zipper does not go all the way to the top, and the top opening was not big enough to get my foot through. Generally I love Birkenstock, and I own the Sarnia tall boots, which are extremely comfortable and flattering. But the short ones just do not work. If only they had made the zipper go all the way to the top. If you have very flat arches and very flexible narrow feet you might be able to get them on. Otherwise, do not buy these boots.

I couldn't get them on!

I read the reviews and figured I'd be able to get the boots on without too much hassle. I am a huge Birkenstock fan and own and love a different pair of Birkenstock boots. After all, I have other boots that need wiggle to get on. Wrong! This isn't a good design. There are built in obstacles to getting this boot on the foot. So sad. So sorry. I've had to send them back. And now the search continues for a great pair of black boots.

Like one of the other users, I was not able to get the boot on my foot because of where the zipper on the shoe was and I have a really high arch in my foot. It was so frustrating because they are really nice looking booties. Will wait to get my refund and try another comfy, brown bootie, I guess. The quest continues!

Returning. I was finally able to get one on and it was comfortable. I would have loved to keep it but I would either never wear or be pissed off every time I did as they were rediculous to try and get on. I have no words.

WAY TOO HARD TO GET MY FOOT IN

They look really nice, beautiful in their Birkenstock way, great leather and craftsmanship, rich deep color. As other reviewers I couldn’t get my feet into them. I am so disappointed. I really wanted them to fit!

Birkenstock really missed the mark with these boots. I could not get my foot even halfway into the boot. There is a small zipper on the side, but since it did not go up to the top it was useless. I kept looking to see if the decorative rivets were snaps that opened up, but they were not. Nice looking boot but I’m giving it an overall low rating. I have many pairs of Birkenstock sandals and clogs. I appreciate that the company is making more current styles, but they need to rethink these boots. Fortunately, returning them is easy with Zappos.
