Good for everyday walking around but not for fast walking or jogging. I have flat feet and these shoes cause a lot of pain in my arch that I dont have?. Go with the timp or Olympus. The Olympus is the most comfortable shoe on earth.

I have flat with bunions on both so I needed a shoe with a wide toebox. These so far feel great. I work at a hospital so if i am constantly standing or walking. These are my first 0 drop shoes but it only took a day or so to get used to it.

Good shoe for pronators though it’s not going to win any fashion awards. Note: these run 1/2 size small; they were very snug in and too short in comparison to the Escalante in the same size.

The biggest reason I found these shoes not to work well for my feet is because of the arch support. I felt these shoes had more arch support than the other supportive shoes Altra offers. The Arches didn't line up well with mine and at first I thought it might have been a design flaw. I ordered another pair and had the same experience. This does it mean it won't work for you. It just didn't line up with my arches and it felt uncomfortable even after wearing for as little as 5 minutes. I do like the wider toe box for natural toe splaying and the guide rails for support.

These shoes feel great, but for some reason Altra made this line of shoes to be a full size smaller than usual. This is my third pair of Altras, and the purchasing process was frustrating because I had to return the first two pairs I bought to get the correct size, which were 11.5 instead of my usual 10.5.

I've tried several of the Altra models, and while they are all very well made, the Provision suits me best. I'm mainly a walker, but do run indoor tracks occasionally. They always give me the support I need. The shoestrings in these are wonderful: they don't really come untied during the day. Maybe it's flat strings better than round; The Paradigm shoe strings were slick, came untied, and way too long.

The fit was similar to previous Provision 3.5 shoes I have purchased. Altra was recommended by my podiatrist for the neutral drop and large toe box. I wear a custom orthotic with my shoes after removing the pad that comes in the shoe. I like the fact that I don't have to tighten the laces to keep my foot in place. Also, the ribbed laces tend to stay tied as long as you are wearing them.

I'm a heavier guy, and this shoe is my go to for running and lifting. I've worn the Escalante, and really liked the One V3, but this shoe is built to last, without adding much weight.

I've had these for a couple weeks or so, I run about 40-60 miles a week. These have pretty much completely eliminated all of the overpronation pains that I was having trouble with in traditional running shoes with no stability support. These are actually my favorite shoes to date. I'm looking forward to the next generation to come out in March or April so I can get a pair of those. Keep up the good work altra.

Great wide toe box road running shoe. These shoes run a bit small, but up 1/2 size fit me perfectly.

I love Altra shoes, so I bought these for my husband, who has flat feet. They are lightweight and have a nice, wide toe box, and he's very happy with them.

I've been running in Altra's for many years now, but until the Provision came along I was still modifying the insoles to accommodate my custom footbeds. I've always had flat/wide feet and as I got older my over-pronation issue continued to get worse so I turned to very expensive custom othotics to keep me moving. I've gone through 2 pair of the Provision 3 and I'm onto the 3.5. Same great ride, they hold up well beyond 500 miles of training runs, and they dry very well after wet outings. More importantly, words won't do justice to how nice it is not having to go through the process of getting my foot into a shoe keeping my ortho in place, socks from bunching up, etc. (serenity now!) I just put them on and I'm out the door. I would say that Altra could do a bit more with the styling of the upper on these shoes to be more in sync with their non-stability lineup. I might be old, but I still dig good looking kicks.

For context, I have very flat, wide feet and probate quite terribly. I was stuck with the traditional stability shoe recommended to me when I ran XC back in high school until a coworker convinced me to try some lone peaks for trail running. They vastly improved my form and eliminated shin splints, but when my feet got tired at the end of a run, things would start to get sloppy. For my commute, these seem to be perfect the perfect balance of stability and toe freedom and are by far my favorite shoe ever. Now I only wish they made a trail version for the weekends...

I've been a big fan of Altra shoes for a long time...have bunions and hammer toes on both feet so these shoes provide me comfortable and pain-free foot ware. I already have three pairs of this specific shoe. One pair is wearing out so I just ordered this new pair as additional back-up...before 'improvements' are made...which unfortunately often make once a good fit no longer a good fit. I found that with a pair of Lone Peak 2.5 which became worn. When trying to replace with another Lone Peak...could not find a style that would fit...the style was upgraded and 'improved'. So explored other Altra shoes until I came upon the Provision 3.5. Thank you, Altra.

When I first tried these on, my initial impression was that they felt a little shorter than what I was used to in a running shoe and slightly wider, coming from the Brooks Ghost. I decided to give them a shot, due to Altra's return policy. I'm glad I tried them! These shoes are amazingly comfortable once you get used to the wider toe box. I have about 50 miles on them and they get more and more comfortable with every run. I haven't had a single blister either. I used to get blisters in my Brooks, mostly the outside of my pinky toes. It turns out the feeling of a shorter length was not an issue.

I have 2 pairs. The Provision for every day use and the Torin for running. The wide toe box and zero drop are designed for feet. My plantar fasciitis is also going away after combining these shoes with stretching. I never realized the damage of a narrow toe box. Awesome shoe.

The fit and size were perfect, right out of the box. The shoes are very comfortable, light, stylish, and functional. I love the zero drop design; perfect shoe for walking. Definitely would recommend.

Just bought my second pair. I use these shoes only for exercise walking (fast paced for about 35 minutes), not for running. They will take some time to get used to, because they are zero drop, meaning the heel is at the same level as the ball of the foot. The toe box is very wide, which has made for a much more comfortable walk for me (because the toes spread out). In the past I've had problems with plantar fasciitis, but I don't have the problems with these shoes. I think that these also help with leg joint pain. My guess is that these shoes will not be right for everyone, but they are very good for me. My feet feel a lot better with these. By the way, I only give these a 4 out of 5 for comfort, because they aren't the sort of shoes that I would wear around all day. For me, these are just for exercise.

I've never been a runner, but recently started running 3-5 miles every day. During the fire academy We ran 4-8 miles a day plus calisthenics and I wore mizuno wave riders. I am a mid foot striker and an over pronater. I also have pretty flat feet, about 5'10", and weigh 206. I recently found out that I needed a stability shoe and one of the guys at the fire station recommended these. Just ran 9.5 miles this morning absolutely pain free and I just got these yesterday!! First thing I could notice differently was the wider toe box... absolutely amazing! Secondly, the zero drop shoe took some getting used to, especially on the downhills but again ZERO PAIN while I ran! This is the best stability shoe I have ever put on my feet and would recommend this 1,000,000 times!

I have been a soldier for 16 years and have dealt with serious pain from stress fractures to lower back pain-all from running. After talking to a friend about it he recommended these shoes due to their zero drop and guard rail technologies. All I can say is that I am amazed and am a customer for life. I ran 3 miles today without an ounce of pain, and I haven't done that in years. I am an over-pronator and these shoes make my foot strike feel solid and comfortable. Thanks Altra, you've made running painless and enjoyable again!
