I love the way these feel - the zero drop is amazing. The treading is solid, the lacing is secure. They are a bit difficult to put on, but you just have to take a few extra seconds to loosen all of the laces. The fatal flaw and reasoning for 1 star is that these are not waterproof whatsoever. I walked through a 3 inch creek and also walked through heavy rain and my socks were soaked immediately. Furthermore, this appears to be a quality control/design issue on Altra's part as my wife ordered the women's version of this boot and had the same experience. Customer Support states they will be addressing the waterproofing issues with the 2021 versions of this boot. Will be returning for a refund sadly.

Pure junk. Fell apart after less than a year. Did not even wear them on any big hikes or gnarly trails. Just around town mostly.

These are garbage. I have both the RSM and mesh. The toes on all came unglued within 50 miles. It finally cooled down in SoCal and we got some snow in the mountains. Great I can finally wear the RSM pair. Less than 3 miles on a broken packed down trail and I thought I felt wet but said it's just the cold thru the thin material. 4.5 miles, at the summit I check and my socks are soaked from my gaiter line down. FAIL.

Let me start by saying that I love Altra shoes and happily wear a few pairs. This model however, should have been recalled as there is obviously something off with the design and/or the manufacturing process. As many others have indicated, the shoe has developed cracks in all the flex point on the inside and outside side. And this onto happened after about a month of light use! As a result, the shoe is not waterproof. The only reason to buy this boot, is for the whaterproofnes, so this defect is critical. I have also noticed that they don't breath as well as some other Gortex boots that I have owned, so don't try using them in warm/hot environments.

I bought these boots for hiking since they are lightweight and waterproof. They only made it through two hikes before i tripped over a limb and the upper layer tore like paper. They can no longer keep out any water or mud. Tearing is considered an accident and are not covered under warranty so if you buy a pair make sure you don't let anything touch your feet when you hike.

Bought the LP 3's and they leaked right away. I was stupid enough to believe that Altra got it right with these, but I've had them for an hour and they leak. Altra, you can not put the water proofing on the outside of the shoe. It doesn't work. It is too easily punctured. I understand it may le you feet breath better, but if you need waterproof boots, you have to sacrifice breathability for dryness.
