Definitely runs a half size small. Even with thin socks the fit was tight.

Love them! Fit & feel is great! I have a slightly wide foot and large ankes, but these work well for me. Only problem is that 3 of the 4 suede fringe zipper pulls are MISSING! So, not enough to send back, but enough not to give 5 stars, which I would have otherwise. This is my 1st documented review.

I must return these shoes. The fit was too tight across the vamp and way too wide in the heel. Sad because I love the style and the distressed leather

it was both wider and narrower than expected. The toebox was tight but the heel was way to loose. They're really cute and I wish I could keep them.

These are not typical quality of Born shoes. The leather is stiff and uncomfortable. The fit is weird, too. The toes are roomy, but ok. The heel is way to big. My foot was sliding half way out of the shoe with every step. I'm send them back.

I hoped I'd be one of the satisfied customers for this cute boot, but it was not to be. I ordered 8, my usual size. The heel was loose as others have stated, but I thought I could fix that somehow. What I couldn't remedy was the way the vamp became very uncomfortable across the tops of my toes as I wore them a little longer. Don't know if an 8.5 would've been better but since my heel was slipping around in the 8's, I sadly returned.

Sadly, I returned these otherwise handsome shoes. They were so wide, I may have stepped out of them.

Ordered my usual size that fit as if a half size smaller so the boots were returned for a half size larger. The replacement pair arrived and got as if a full size larger. Sadly the boot did not fit do that I could wear it

I am a HUGE Born fan. They offer boots that are wide enough in the toe box that my arthritis isn't agitated too much, and they have neutral styles (not overly feminine), which I appreciate. Their Risko boot is hands down my favorite boot of all time, and I mention it here, because the design of it is similar to this boot, with the addition of a little extra height at the ankle, so there is no heel slippage. Like these boots, they have two zippers up each side, the color options are the same, and they are simple enough in their design. Add a flat heel to the mix, and for me, it's the perfect footwear. Sadly, Born discontinued the Risko so I can't reorder them, and my pair has split on both soles because I wear them all the time, so I decided to give this one a try and crossed my fingers that the heel issue that others have had would not be an issue for me. It is such a huge issue that size really doesn't matter here. It's the fact that the width of the topline/opening of the shoe is way too big - and too low as well. It's such an obvious design flaw that it has me wondering how it was missed? I imagine that the returns on this boot are through the roof! I have written Born to request that they bring back the Risko since there is no alternative like it in their available styles. The saving grace here is that Zappos customer service is tops, and I am not at all concerned that the return will be taken care of swiftly.

I really wanted to love these booties, I have a narrower foot and after reading the reviews I figured that they would fit. But they didn't, the width in the toebox area was perfect but they were way too short! I have ordered the size 11 and am returning the size 10. I love the looks of these and they would have been comfortable had they been just a tad bit longer. I typically always wear a size 10 in Born shoes but not with these! I sized up to an 11 and hoepfully they are not too big.

I love these boots but way to big at the heel. Even with a sock they slipped.

I loved the style and quality of this shoe. Unfortunately, as others have remarked, the heel of the shoe is way to big, and my foot would go up and down when walking. The front part of the shoe fit as expected. I hope they correct this heel issue, because if they did, I would buy this shoe.

I loved this boot, but the heel and ankle were far too wide; it came off off without unzipping it.

I really liked this shoe but as other reviewers commented, the heel portion is too large and the shoe slips. The shoe itself was comfortable and I love the style but the heel slipping was too much.

Joining the chorus... the heel is incredibly wide and easy to walk right out of. Returned my normal 9.5 for 9 which helped with the heel but left the toe box feeling too snug with anything more than a thin pair of socks. I like them, not returning, but a little bit bummed they don’t fit better for the cost

Tried these in a 9 and 9.5, and both slipped on my heel. Super disappointing.The look of the boot is great and the leather was nice, too.

Super cute boots, but they kept sliding on my heels to the point where I would get blisters if I kept wearing them. I wear a size 7.5 in shoes and size 8 in boots, and I ordered a size 8. I don't think a smaller size would help, I think the boot itself needs to be a bit narrower to hold the foot in place.

Like so many others, I feel that this is too loose in the heel. My heel slips up and down and seems like it would rub the skin raw. I can step out of them, even though they are the right length. Darn, darn, darn. They're cute, and just what I was looking for, except for the fit.

I bought these boots, I always wear a 9 but they were too small so ordered a 91\2 and they were too big. I sent both pairs back.

I agree with many of the other reviewers: These shoes look terrific, but the heel is way too wide. The flexibility of the sole is great, but my heel keeps coming right off the sole. The little piece of leather to protect the ankle from the zipper is flimsy and ineffective. If Born corrects these problems, they will have an awesome shoe!

I agree with the other reviews, my ankle kept slipping up when I walked around. I found the width in the toe box to be okay for my wide foot. I wish the ankle area was a bit tighter, the booties are super cute and I so wanted them to work!!

Loved the look of the boot but is was too short and too wide, had to return them.

I agree with many of the reviews. The heel box is big while the toe box is narrow. Odd fit. I am not sure a size smaller would address the issue. Too bad because they are really cute shoes.
