For wider calves, it’s a struggle to find any boots besides ankle boots that zip up. But these work! And they’re comfortable, warm, and actually waterproof, so they work like actual boots in the Midwest fall and winter! For sizing purposes, I bought the size 10 normal width, and the boots easily zipped up. My calves are about 17” at the widest point. These probably work because the shaft doesn’t come up as far as a lot of boots. Style wise, they’re very basic, but they look nice with jeans or dresses and leggings.

I missed my beloved Captiva Launch 2 and hoped the Kassie Tall Waterproof might be a worthy replacement. Alas, I have been rather disappointed. I loved the Captiva Launch and Captiva Launch 2 so much, I wore them almost exclusively for years. They fit my feet and legs perfectly, made my calves look like a million sculpted bucks, and they were gloriously waterproof yet still breathable even in hot weather. After they were discontinued, I scoured online sources for new, unworn, "old stock" for sale. When I could finally no longer locate replacements when I needed, I was terribly sad. I kept an eye on new Merrell styles every season after, hoping for a new style that might live up to the amazingness that was my beloved Captiva Launch. I thought with the Kassie Tall Waterproof, I might have finally found it. Alas, not quite. As a Merrell product, they're still very well made, and so far they also balance waterproofing with breathability. The sizing seems all wrong; they flop about even around my meaty calves. The shaft is too big to fit under my bootcut jeans. The foot and ankle feel too roomy, but not quite large enough that I feel certain the hassle of a size exchange will be fruitful. Even if I go down a size to fit my foot better, the shaft will still be enormous. I've only been wearing these a few weeks, but I worry their oversized nature will affect wear and longevity. Merrell remains my favorite manufacturer of casual boots, but I fear this style in particular missed the mark.

Meh - look like my husband's muck boots. Was hoping for something that would look cute with casual dress/skirt. Not gonna work.

I LOVE these boots. I have wide feet and thick legs and these fit perfectly! I have been looking for a waterproof flat soled boot i can work retail in for 8+ hours a day and these totally fit the bill. Im planning on wearing these all einter. The material is soft and flexible with comfortable soles. I can wear these with thicker socks or tights. Im usually an 8 or 8.5, ordered these in 9 to have extra room for winter socks.

I have an older pair of Merrell boots that I love. I really wanted to love these, too, but the calf was way too wide and the overall fit was large. I wish Merrell would bring back taller, more narrow styles. The boot is well constructed and nice looking.

Calf area was way too big. Style was pretty blah - looked like a suede rain boot, well constructed but really nothing special for almost $200. These are going back!

I have a hard time finding comfortable shoes and these fit! They are comfortable and have good grip. Haven’t gotten them really wet yet, but I really like the boot for everyday wear.

I can generally get away without orthotics in Keen and am thrilled that these have such a great arch! I have none - totally flat feet, and having also had plantar faiciatis I need shoes with a really sturdy base and good arch. I've wanted these boots from Keen for 2 years but just hated to pay so much (the style may have been a little different last year, I don't remember) but when I decided to look at them again I was thrilled to see a sale that I couldn't pass up. As some people said, they are a little wide in the calf area and I don't have wide calfs, but they aren't wide enough to make them look strange. In my opinion, better a little big in the calf than too tight. They fit so well, I'm not giving them up for anything! I wear a 41 or 10 1/2 and ordered a 10 1/2 in these. Perfect. I take a med. width shoe but do need a wide toe base, these fit the bill. So so happy.

I ordered my regular size 8 (in black) and they fit perfectly....they look fabulous with everything. Plus they are completely water tight - I tried them out in deep snow and slush & my feet stayed dry and toasty. I've already had several woman ask me 'what brand' they are, they are adorable with skinny jeans. Merrell boots last forever and I'm sure these will too, the leather is fabulous.....Worth every penny.

These were really cute, except, as others have mentioned, too wide at the top ruins the flow and design. Just narrow the top a bit and you'd sell a ton with great reviews. I think they would still look awkward if your had a wider calf.

I got excited when I saw a new flat boot from Merrell, but this one has a very poor design. I would like to replace my old Merrell Captiva tall boots, which I absolutely love, but these were no comparison. The top of this boot sticks out way too far due to the wide calf area. The foot of the boot is too wide and rounded, making it very un-stylish. It's clunky, and in my opinion, another big miss in the boot department for Merrell.

So comfortable. So waterproof. So good for snow and rain days - I can wear them all day without noticing them. Look good under pants. Love them. Exactly what I wanted. Highly recommended.

They are functional and practical, though not a fashion statement. I bought them because they are Merrell's. They're great if you like tucking regular (not skinny) jeans into boots to go out walking in the winter because of the extra calf room. I would buy them again.

Love this boot! Very warm and comfortable from the first time I put them on. A little on the plain side for style. But would buy the in black if I didn’t already have a black boot!

Easy On and Easy Off! They are a nice boot, not a "warm" boot but a good one for keeping the snow away from your socks :-) I like wearing them to yoga and the gym because its so easy to take them on and off. This was also the reason I bought them. They satisfied my purpose. I agree with the one review that they are not stylish, the toe area is boring.

Absolutely LOVE these

Amazing. I’m 5’0” and they come up mid calf, not sure why they call them tall. I can zip them over my large athletic calves with straight leg jeans tucked in, that is a miracle for me. I do wish they were a tad taller, but they will be great with either pants or skirts. I have a wide foot with a high instep and these fit fine. I have the short version as well for fall days.

I normally wear a 10m but ordered a 10.5 based on the reviews I read. Good decision! They fit well with a thick sock and I still could comfortably wiggle. These debuted at a pumpkin patch field trip that turned out to be cold and rainy and my feet stayed dry, warm, and comfortable. I would have liked them to be taller, but it’s not a deal breaker at this point.

Just what I was looking for. It snowed the day after I received them, and they did great in the snow. They are the perfect height, not too tall on my short legs. Super comfortable for all day on my feet. They look great with skirts and leggings and will be my go-to boots for work this winter!

These are AMAZING!! I am not a big boot person at all but I find that I end up needing them in the winter. I went rogue and bought these. They are so comfortable. The zipper down the side helps make and even better secure fit! Highly recommend!

These boots fit like a dream and are great for casual wear with skinny jeans or tights. Like it that I can replace the insoles with my own orthotics. After debating for weeks, I'm happy I made the purchase.

I've been having trouble finding boots lately, but as soon as I tried on these Merrell boots I knew they were great! They slipped on and felt great; the arch was in the correct spot, there was no rubbing and the calf felt comfortable. Yeah Merrell!

Unfortunately have to return these. I really wanted to replace my Merrell Captiva Launch with another pair stylish, waterproof, leather boots. The soles have worn off my Captivas, the soles can't be replaced, and the style is discontinued. However, the Kassie is not a good replacement because it just isn't as stylish. Baggy at the calves-- fits more like a pair of Uggs than stylish leather boots! Fit is fit is fine (I'm a consistent 10.5) but just wish they were a bit more sleek and fitted (good with skirts and for an office).
