My husband surprised me with thesefor Valentines Day after I was always complaining about my feet being cold in my old boots. They look great, my feet were perfectly warm even after shoveling snow. I took a star off because they are really, really stiff. I look like I'm walking on stilts because the ankles aren't flexible. I'm hoping they break in more.

I've had these boots for over 2 years and I really love them. They keep my feet warm and look good. Here's my gripe: I wear these boots for work, and I work outdoors. For some reason people keep making lace holders out of nylon webbing. What happens with the nylon webbing rubbing against the shoelace is that, over time, the lace will wear out the webbing that holds the lace to the boots. This happens when you pull the laces tight, or just from the movement of the laces as you walk around and your foot flexes the boot. This is a huge issue, because once that lace holder is broken, you're either going to a repair shop, or you're out a pair of boots.
I love Columbia boots, but they seriously need to re-evaluate this style of lace holder.

I ordered a size I normally wear in an outdoor boot expecting it to be cozy. There's so much awesome cushioning the fit was actually very snug.
But here's the great thing about Columbia - I was able to exchange the first pair for the right pair and they are really awesome (both Columbia and the boot).
Both color options are fabulous, they lace up and don't slip. The Bugaboot is very well constructed. And, my usually cold feet are going to be warm.
Thank Columbia!!

This is my 3rd pair of similar boots. The first 2 basically fell apart without much wear. I like these but they appear to be very stiff. I am hoping with more wear they will break in some.

I liked these boots, did run a little small in the toe.(had to return) They felt like a ski boot when I tried them on, but thought the look was nice.

It does the job of keeping feet warm in snow but I don't find very comfortable to walk in it. It's little stiff on legs and isn't very attractive looking too.

Very comfortable but not as warm as I would like. I do get colder than most so I'm sure it's fine for most people. Great traction and cushion. Easy to get on and off.

Great, sturdy boot. Stylish while keeping feet dry. Feet warm enough in normal cold climates. I live in MN so when temperatures dip to below zero, thick socks are required.

These boots are very we'll cushioned on the inside however the heal of the boot is made so the heal and calf are pushed forward a bit and they do run a whole two sizes small. I normally wear an 8 in women's and had to get a 10

This is my second pair of these boots. They are very warm, great traction, and pretty comfortable. My only complaint would be they are stiff around the lower part of calf, near the ankle the first time or two wearing them. So I would say they need to be broken in at first. Other than that, they are a great boot!

I would not recommend buying these boots to anyone. The real issues is not how the boot feels today but how it lasts. We live in Sacramento which is not a snow place - but typically go out once a year to nearby places when it snows at low elevations. So bought this shoe 5years ago - used only once a year - so figure 5 uses and the plastic is self-integrating on both shoes. Columbia should be ashamed of pushing this garbage onto the consumers. I have never had any shoes start dis-integrating on me ever in my life like this.

I absolutely LOVE these hiking boots! I've always worn Columbia brand hiking boots, but these are by far my favorite for winter. They aren't too girly, they are warm, and the tread is so thick, you just feel more stable hiking in ice or snow. I will buy these over and over again!!

This is my second pair of Bugaboots. I only wear them 2-3 times per winter. Unfortunately, the top of the right shoe is coming unglued from the rubber bottom and the rubber sole is separating at the toe. Normally these boots are great in deep snow but with this 12 inch snow storm, my foot did not stay warm and dry due to the defective boot. I see other customers have had the same problems!oes not hold up over time

Perfect for winter. Keeps your feet nice and cozy. Good material. I have it a 4 star because after a while the long part of the boot becomes uncomfortable. Unless I still have to brake them through.

Great quality boot & craftmanship. However, I fill like the sizing has changed. I have a pair of bug a boots from years ago. They are a size 8 and they fit me perfectly. The Bugaboot III rans a bit narrow and tight for me. So I did return them. Again, the quality and craftmanship is great.

Lightly used for ten years and stored in a tote with other boots that are much older. They just cracked all around. Would have thought that the should last longer.

I bought these more than two years ago at Fred Meyer. They are still in excellent condition. They look a little dustier than the pictures of the new boot, but nothing about them is coming undone or broken. They are a bit wrinkled in the ankles, as happens when you wear boots for a while. I have worn multiple sets of insoles with them, including wearing two sets simultaneously for one winter. Even with the insoles and thick socks, I have enough room. My feet are wide, but these are not labeled as wide and they fit my feet very nicely. I currently wear them with a high arch insole.
If you are looking for a very well-made, sturdy, long-lasting, warm, waterproof boot, this is a great boot and I doubt you will be disappointed. The tread is good, and the outsole is very wide and functional. Its a good design, as it is meant to keep you from rolling your ankle or slipping and falling. I havent noticed any major wear on the tread.
What I dont like about these boots:
They are big and chunky, which is normally fine, but not so much when you want to wear skinny jeans or something.
They are laces-only. Newer boots often have zippers now.
They dont offer much ankle support (on me). For a normal person, thats probably fine, but for people with connective tissue disorders, it could be a problem. I also have toothpick calves, so maybe that is a contributing factor.
Sometimes my feet get way too hot. But they are for winter, so maybe I shouldnt be using them during the Seasons of Mud (what you might call spring and fall).
The price was kind of high, but pretty reasonable for what youre getting. I grew up on $20 pairs of boots from big box stores, so these feel almost like a luxury item.
The boot strings like to come undone. They could be longer, too, for double knotting, or for wider ankles.
They are only mid-calf high. You cant step into deep snow without it getting inside your boots.
The Pros:
Warm, very warm.
Well constructed
Durable
Wide enough when most footwear isnt.
Good tread and great design
Made of quality materials
Waterproof

I bought these to replace my original Bugaboots which were losing their rubber soles. The size stayed the same, which is my dress shoe size. 1/2 size smaller than running shoes size fwiw. The design is a tiny bit different making the uppers a little more stiff around the ankles. They are nice and warm and light weight. I typically wear these out with the dogs or shoveling the driveway. Im happy with the purchase.

My grandpa bought me these boots 16 years ago and I just had to get rid of them now. These are the best boots ever. They only reason why I had to get rid of them is the bottom fell off and the sides started to rip a little bit. I have worn these every winter for the past 16 years almost every day in the winter time. Im looking at buying another pair cause I loved them so much they just wont have the awesome memories of my grandpa getting them for me. I wish they still came in this color but at least the boot is still around. Thank you Colombia!

The last pair of these I had bought 10 yrs ago and they finally gave out. These new ones are not of the same quality of my previous pair. The eyelets are no longer metal and the insulation went from 400 to 200. Also have less insulation in the toes as they get cold while the rest of the foot stays warm. I do however like the taller ankle in the new ones. I hope to at least get 5 yrs out of these ones. Very dissapointed that Columbia would choose to cut corners on quality. But like every big company theyve choosen profit over quality. They are not true to size. Order a half size bigger as well.

I bought a 10. Normally wear a 9.5 Wide. These were way too small without socks, let alone with thick winter socks. I had to return them and alas, they were out of 11's in my color. Otherwise, very nice boot that would have worked well. If the sizing wasn't way off, would have given 4 or 5 stars depending on durrability.
