I use it for casual use, will also use it when backpacking, there is nothing like down, the quality is unsurpassed, love this vest!! The vest is self regulating you can where it inside and its not to warm and outside with temps in the 20s it keeps your core warm.

This is my new absolute go to when going anywhere. Wish that I would have bought an extra when was on sale.

Great fit. I'm 6'1 200lbs. I was a little worried to order a large because my Transcendant Jacket is large and a little tight across the back and shoulder. It's a vest no shoulders no problem.

Great vest at a great price. Looks a bit retro, but performs as good as anything made today...at a fraction of the cost of some of the other down vests out there.

This vest is great! I bought it on clarence so I didn't have the option for the size I needed so it's a bit big, but not really a problem since I use it as a layering piece under my hunting jacket. Nice warmth for the core.

This vest is very light weight, yet warm. I really like the soft feel of the material and pockets. I throw this on top of my new Vigor hoody and head to the hockey rink with my son and find it is a great combination. I have only had the vest for about a month so I can't speak to longevity yet.

Good lightweight-midweight vest to use as a layer or by itself in cool weather. Everything about the vest was described accurately online.

Great for around town when a jacket is too much. Really like the outside color and true to size. Not a huge fan of the fluorescent yellow inside but doesn't take away from the product.

I have had my vest for a little over a week, and have worn it every day. It is autumn currently, so the days are getting cooler, but it isn't cold yet. The vest is great with a long sleeve shirt. I find it keeps my core body warm without over heating me. It fits well to my body (6'2" @ 190lbs, I got a Large), and doesn't restrict my movement at all. The ripstop fabric is a nice feature. I did notice, as others have mentioned, that the insulation felt a little lacking when I pulled it out of the package. However, after wearing it a couple times and hanging it up, it has puffed up a decent amount. It is very similar to a down sleeping bag, you can't keep it squished and expect good insulation.

great vest worn over a flannel or fleece for a little extra warmth or under a shell for windy or stormy days.

I fell in love with this vest the minute I put it on. It is light weight and extremely compact - it won't take up any more space in your bag than a regular shirt. As other reviewers have mentioned, it does not seem like there is much down filling in the vest, it is very thin... that said I was pleasantly surprised to find that it is far warmer than it looks. I used this vest recently climbing Huntington Ravine on Mount Washington in mild winter conditions, and it was the perfect thing to wear under a soft shell and over a base layer while climbing. The breast pocket is roomy and well-placed, no problems with the zippers, and the cut around the arms is non-intrusive. Once you put the vest on, you don't realize you are wearing it, it is soft and very comfortable. Only con is that the buttons that close the hand pockets can be a bit difficult to open and close, but I tend not to use those pockets much anyway, except to store a pair of glove liners when they are not in use.

Great vest. Low profile extremely light and very warm. Can be worn alone or under a shell on very cold days.

This is a semi warm vest that is good for casual wear and hiking. You could wear it as a mid layer under a coat when in the Mountains but it may not be the warmest vest out there. The upside to that is that it's not overstuffed puffy like many of them. Overall a great product.

Have only been wearing this little vest for a few days now. But it seems like just the thing to wear under a coat in cold New England winter weather. Or indoors if the heat is turned down.

Love the fit. The chest pocket is handy and functional. Was a little surprised that the hand warmer pockets did not have zippers. However, after wearing it I find that the absence of the zippers actually makes the pockets much more comfortable.

Love this vest. It's the perfect 30-50F outer layer. This vest with a good flannel is what I'll wear on all but the coldest days. I'm 5'11" 190 & the large fits well. I could've possibly gone medium but since it's more casual I went a little bigger. I'm glad I did cause it works well with thicker under layers

In comparison to my older generation Transcendent Sweater, the new version feels lighter. The brown/grey color combination has a nice retro feel and it works a great lightweight layer of warmth. I'm 6' and 165 pounds and the medium fit well.

It's a down vest. It fits well. It keeps my chest warm while allowing my shoulders to maneuver. Need I say more? I will anyway. I also pairs surprisingly well with the Echo Hoody.

Nice change from all the "minimal" loft jackets and vests out there these days..The OR vest has a good amount of down and I like the larger channels that give it more loft..Great, warm vest!
