I needed a between seasons jacket that can handle the cooler but not frigid winter days.

i like the coat, wish it had a bit more warmth though i'm guessing once it gets down to cold temps in the upper midwest.

Bought this (size small) for our 13-year-old who is slim and about 5'5". The fit is perfect for him. He can get a hoodie underneath, and has room to grow a bit. True to fit for men's small. Light enough to fit under his ski jacket as a mid layer. He bikes a couple of km's to school every day, and so far good in most weather.

First time I wore it was on a hike in the Rockies, heading up, it got colder, snow, jacket kept me warm and dry. I had a fleece on underneath and was plenty warm, especially for the trip down. My wife has one too and loves it.

I love this jacket. Fits great and is a great addition to the OR line. It's a perfect weight to pack down small and not be noticed, but then easy to put on when needed at the top of a hike, or after an event to warm back up.

Super sweet jacket my only complaint is that it runs tight despite it saying it is a regular fit fits more like a slim cut

Warm without shell for not too cold (-10). Great for a base layer or to throw on to keep the chill off at any temp. Fit is slim so I'm worried about blowing a zipper but so far so good.

Fit was too large for layering so I returned it for a size M. Nice jacket though.

I wear the illuminate down hoody for above freezing dry days climbing or about town. I generally wear a medium in just about everything but occasionally have to size up to a large if something is extremely slim fit. The medium barely zipper over my chest and I find that even in the large size it is a bit snug in the chest. My son who is a teenage bean pole loves the medium size but he generally wears an XS or small. Definitely try one on before buying or be prepared to maybe exchange it if necessary. Otherwise a comfortable nice puffy.

Have used a few times skiing. Nice lightweight down jacket. Layers well, good pockets,Chest pocket big enough for my large phone. It fits well, true to size.

Seems like a great jacket but it fits small. I'm not obese but I'm not skinny either. Fit is more athletic than standard.

A good light weight packable down parka. Fit is good. A jacket for moderately cold temperatures.

I ordered this jacket online in a L Sapphire. The pictures online don't accurately show how shiny the outer finish is. But that's the only negative so far. I've had it less than a month but already I like the fit, the weight, and the warmth of it.

This jacket is light and warm and well made. I bought it for casual wear and as an extra layer for ski touring. Fit is small and close to the body. Everyone in the house is trying to steal it from me.

Fits a little snug on my shoulders. But over all is a jacket that I really enjoy! The face that it packs back into itself is awesome.

For sizing: 5'11" 160lbs. Medium was the correct size, especially for layering under a technical shell.

I've only had this for about a week. I have used this for 2 days of skiing and 2 days of field work in 20-40F with minimal wind in the Intermountain West. It's a good moderate-use puffy, not an expedition type puffy though. The down fill power is 800, which is great, although I couldn't find the down fill weight. I suspect it's a little light, but eh, you get what you pay for. I'm a little concerned about how thin the fabric is and it's stitching, but that's always the downfall to puffys. Overall, I'm happy with the coat and think it's a great deal for what you get. I'm fairly rough on products and have found OR products to be one of my fall back brands like Carhartt. I look forward to putting it through the ringer over the year.

5'10'' and 190 lb guy who needed a jacket to be used in combination with a water/wind proof shell in sub zero conditions. Chose the Illuminate Down Hoody because it had many reviews showing pro's: freezing conditions or "very warm". Can't believe how lightweight it is! Also, it fits great. This hoody keeps me comfortable in temps 20*F and higher but I would not recommend it for anyone who would be in freezing conditions for more than a couple hours unless they stayed active. I do like the style and the hoody is very packable.
