Lightweight, sturdy shell. Poncho style zippers means that zipping up normally can take getting used to. Fit on the upper arm, pit area is somewhat loose. Great fit otherwise.

Very happy with this product. I'm 5'9" and about 165 lbs and the large fits a little bit big, which I am happy with because I like to layer.

I use this jacket for fishing and hiking in Alaska. I really like the full pit zips for dumping heat on hot days.. Also works well as an outer shell on colder days

Phenomenal Jacket. My wife purchased it for me as a Christmas present after I dropped a few hints, and I've had it for several months now. Fits very well by itself, or with a mid weight grid fleece underneath. I've worn it in temperatures down to -20 degrees with some insulation and upwards of 70 degrees as a rain/wind layer. Also the slim and lightweight feel of it works very well under body armor or chest rigs and packs. This is my go-to rain and wind jacket with as light weight as it is. Love it and would buy again.

Amazing hardshell for a decent price. I love the full length pit zips and the elastic hem in the sleeves. Buy this classic from outdoor research.

I purchased this jacket for several reasons. I had tried lighter weight gore-tex jackets by two major manufacturers, and quickly found them to both leak and have the gore-tex layer delaminate. This jacket by Outdoor Research is a wonderful compromise in terms of weight and durability; not so light as to be frail, not so heavy as to be bulky or difficult to pack. I used to cross country ski, snowshoe, rock and ice climb extensively; not indoors, but out in real world. I would have loved this jacket then, particularly for the double slider zipper on the front. the second zipper pull would have offered easy access to any gear at waist level, or just simply have offered more mobility while climbing. Time and bad knees have turned me into an outdoor photographer, but the same logical features still apply to that activity as well. double-siider zipper in the front, the two side zips (for the same access/mobility reason) and the underarm pit zips for ventilation/temperature regulation. As if that were not enough, it comes in a variety pf colors! Whether climber or photographer or whatever, this jacket is a WINNER! I currently am in Georgia and it works just fine, but my younger years and climbing had me in upstate New York, New Hampshire, West Virginia, and Maryland. Trust me, I would work for ANY of those places.

Great light weight jacket. Baggy fit with the "Standard fit." I found the large to baggy so I got a medium instead which i wear over a down jacket. I have 42" chest , 5'11", 175 lbs. Athletic build.

I got this jacket the day before going to MT Hood, for hiking and skiing! The jacket performed as expected! Love the full length pit zippers gave the ability to cool off quickly so I didn't sweet or overheat. Very durable, took a couple of good falls and it doesn't even show a mark! I got this jacket to use Ultra Running, love the ability to unzip the sides to regulate temp but also be waterproof.

Since receiving this jacket I have used it several times, both for casual and active use. It's waterproof and breathable and layered properly kept me warm on a snowy snowshoe trip in Lake Louise (Canada) at -18 Celsius! Love the full side zippers to assist with heat regulation when exerting lots of energy. Lightweight and compressible too! No cons found yet.

Great lightweight shell. Much lighter than anticipated with lots of features. Waterproof as you'd expect from a gore Tex jacket. Would love to see them increase the length in the back on future revisions for added protection and versatility when reaching over or bending, otherwise this is the perfect shell jacket.

I was in search for a new 80% solution Rain coat, and luckily the FORAY was the answer. I needed an outer weather protective shell I could easily wear in all temperature conditions that would keep me dry in all weather conditions. GORETEX is key in the waterproofing industry and the expertly taped seems do not miss any beats. The size is true to a Large and perfect to layer over multiple layers when the weather gets nasty. If you are in the market for a great Rain coat at an exceptional price, look no further. Will look into Foray pants now to match the jacket.

This strikes a great balance of durability vs weight vs waterproofness. Breathability is obviously limited with such a layer, but it still does a great job with the venting options. Fit is great. Price wise it's fantastic.

Great lightweight jacket. Goretex Paclite is reliable. Only had for a few weeks, so with all light weight gear, we will have to wait and see on durability.

I wear this as waterproof/windproof shell. The great thing about it is, if I get too hot while walking around I can vent off easily with the side zips that open all the way up so it becomes a poncho basically. It feels durable enough, only time will tell but with outdoor research infinite warranty I bought this jacket with full confidence knowing that it will last. Sizing for me was xl, I'm 6 feet 210 pounds and I thought it would be too big but it's actually perfect for me. Great buy

This is hand's down the best Jacket I've ever owned. I've taken it on multi day canoe trips where it poured rain the whole time and it kept me dry. I use it as a hard shell when ski touring Alberta in January and it keeps me plenty warm provided I layer properly. It rolls up small and stows nicely in a pack.

This coat comes in handy for the typical rainy winter day in northern California, as well as intense adventures in the Sierra Nevada. A notable example of the latter, in which the OR Foray was essential for an enjoyable hike at the least and survival at the most, was during Thanksgiving weekend on Mt Tallac Trailhead (near Lake Tahoe). The temperature was in that gray area where it wasn't cold enough for snow & not warm enough for rain, so I got to try out this coat in relentless sleet. I found it hard to imagine I'd stay dry for so long, but I did. Sweating on the inside may cause one to assume they got wet because of a shortcoming of the coat, but this is a common occurrence with a hard shell. Make sure to unzip beneath the armpits and, when possible, minimize strenuous movement.
