Customer Reviews Merrell Siren Edge Q2 Waterproof

I got introduced to these shoes this past summer and fell in love with them!! I do a lot of walking, and I train and compete in dog agility with my two dogs, so there's lots of time on my feet. These were absolutely PERFECT!--waterproof, good looks, good traction, comfortable, and, best of all, lightweight. Unfortunately, all good things (seemingly!) must come to an end. I liked them so much that when it came time to buy new shoes, I felt totally confident in logging in to Zappos and ordering two new pair--one in the same size as my old ones for the warm weather of the coming summer, and one a half size up in order to better accommodate the two pairs of socks that I wear in the winter. Sadly, they came yesterday and I returned them this morning. Although the new shoes look exactly the same as my old, tired pair, the fit is totally different. Even the shoes that were a half size up were a terrible fit with summer weight gym socks, much less two pairs of socks. Why do manufacturers feel they have to change things so often! Merrell, what were you thinking??!!! I am SO disappointed!! So, the review I gave these were positive stars on style (still love the look and color), but I'd can't give enough negative stars for size and width.

The size and fit was fine but the cheap material quality of the entire shoe was bad making walking uncomfortable. I will be sending back the pair I ordered last week. I have worn womens Merrell shoes for many, many years for the comfort, good arch support, quality material and craftmanship. For the last two or three years, I have noticed womens Merrell shoes I have purchased are not crafted/made using quality material. Merrell shoes insoles today are thin, non-supportive like they use to be. I will gladly pay a higher price for a quality shoe/s and no longer buy cheap manufactured stylish shoes that are uncomfortable. Quality v. uncomfortable quantity. Because I have been dissatisfied with the cheaper material construct on Merrells womens shoes for last two years, I am forced to look at other manufactures that can provide me what Merrell can not ... quality shoes for the hiker, walker and every day use.

I wanted to love these shoes. They are cute and I think would have been comfortable if they were the right size for me. I usually wear a 6W and ordered these in a 6.5M but they were too narrow.

I originally ordered a half size larger based on the other reviews, but they were too big (and Zappos is awesome about handling returns). My normal size was the right size. These shoes dig into my heels but I have that issue with a lot of shoes and eventually they break in so it's not a problem. I always love Merrell's!

I tried two different sizes of this shoe - I typically wear a 7. The 7.5 were too big, and though the 7 fit well, the heel greatly dug into my skin. I typically have a narrow-ish foot and do have problems with other shoes that dig into my heel if there is any kind of material in that part of the shoe. They are a good looking shoe - I wanted to love them!

I found this shoe to be comfortable right out of the box. I bought these for an upcoming trip to Maine that will include a lot of walking with some trails, and I think this will suit my needs nicely. Good arch support and a nice firm heel box for stabilizing my ankles. Compared to other waterproof sneakers, this is a good value. I've worn the shoes around town, and so far, so good!

the heel hug is a bit high up on the back of the ankle, but once worn a few times, it became more comfortable. Unlike my last pair, the seams are holding and they are really reliably waterproof -- great for wet trails and sidewalks too

These were okay in fit, maybe a little short (my right foot is slightly bigger than my left). I would have kept them but the vinyl ? around the front of the shoe was already crinkling and I felt like it would come off with wear. I did order up a 1/2 size for length. I normally wear a 10 in tennis shoes and ordered a 10 1/2 in these.

What the heck did they do to the Siren Edge ? They use to be so comfortable and now their small and narrow. I wear a 9 1/2 in a regular shoe and a 10 in the Siren Edge Waterproof, so based on reviews I ordered a 10 1/2 in the Q2 just to be on the safe side, hard to believe they were so tight and narrow. If the originals worked why do they have to mess with a good thing, why can't they just leave well enough alone.

I like the regular Siren Edge, and wanted a waterproof version, but the Q2, which is "gender-engineered for women", did not fit my (female) foot. Maybe my feet aren't average, but I know several other women who have a narrower heel and wider forefoot. To be fair, they did fit in the heel. My heels didn't come out of the shoe. But the rest of the shoe was way too narrow (and I don't have especially wide feet). I had already sized up for length, and if I sized up again, they would be too long. Also, the midfoot felt...strange. Almost like the upper was wider than the sole. In any case, not for me. And I'm disappointed that Merrell stopped making the regular Siren Edge Waterproof.

These fit well and are true to size, allowing for a nice thick sock.

The best hiking sneakers

The shoes fit great, but I didn’t like the style in that the rubber piece on top of the shoe that goes over the big toe area, visually is off to me. This off center design makes the shoes seem off-center and it’s just weird for me to lol st. I prefer a design that was more balanced across the whole top of my foot. But, they are comfortable!
