I bought these boots for a trip to Iceland. I have bunions on both feet so nearly every shoe I wear causes blisters until they are broken in. Outside of flip flops, this is the only piece of footwear I've ever owned that caused zero rubbing. I wore them out of the box and hiked for over two hours on steep and rocky terrain to Iceland's current volcano eruption site. I could not believe how comfortable these boots were. I never write reviews, but these boots were so good I felt compelled to share. Worth every penny!

I bought these to be able to hike after spraining my ankle. I tried on a few different boots - these were so much lighter than the more traditional hiking boots. It felt like walking in sneakers but with the added protection against rolling my ankle. Very happy with this purchase.

Instantly comfortable, water proof, mud proof and camping proof. New fave shoes.

First time with Salomons as I usually wear Merrills. I ordered my regular size and a half size up, due to the reviews. It took a few walks to find that my regular size was the right size. Boots were narrow which is good for my feet but did stretch a bit once broken in. Lightweight sock (wool Bean, of course) was comfortable. Support through instep. Color attractive. No experience with waterproofing needs yet. Ran into another happy hiker with Salomons in the mountains!

Bought these while living in Colorado and took them up a half dozen 14ers. Now doing weekend backpacking trips in the White Mountains after recovering from a broken foot last summer and I feel safe and snug with the sturdy sole. I pair them with silk liners and lightweight hiking socks and my blister prone feet finally know peace. Great compromise between sneaker and boot for hiking in summer, spring and fall, even with snow on the ground.

I needed a sturdy waterproof hiking shoe and these are just the ticket - great comfort, support, and looks! They will be making the 96 mile West Highland Way Trail in Scotland!

Best shies ever, my husband got me my first pair 7 years ago and this is my 6 pair of hiking boots. They are super conformable best shoes EVER!!!

These are lightweight and they snug up to the middle of my skinny feet but give my toes room to wiggle, perfect!

I have had these boots for three years and have worn them to the ground. They are super comfortable and waterproof yet breathable. I worked outside and would wear them on supper hot days as well as super wet days. They were perfect for both. I have hiked and backpacked hundreds of kilometres in them as well. Salmon has yet to let me down. Just wish i could buy another pair online.

My wife was developing blisters while hiking at Acadia National Park. We stopped at LLBean in Ellsworth and picked these up for her. They cushioned her feet for 2 more days of hiking and the blisters got no worse. Hiked in the White Mountains this week and she had no hot spots. Wonderful, comfortable hiking boot.

My favorite hiking shoe. Comfortable, waterproof, and moves with my foot. I don't like stiff boots or require lots of support. Just bought my second pair.

What first attracted me to these hiking shoes, was the color scheme...I was looking for a lightweight hiking shoe, but I wasn't too keen on the mid height of this shoe...but when I read LL Bean's description, "sneaker-like comfort and flexibility", I decided to give them a try...this Salomon brand hiking shoe was great out of the box...not too bulky or too heavy...I usually wear a size 9, but I wanted to wear them with a heavier sock, so I ordered a half size up...a great shoe for me...

I walk on concrete and dirt trails for 45-90 minutes and this boot is comfy the entire time. An 11 fit my 10.5 foot perfectly and I could sung it up on my narrow foot. The colors are true to the picture. I love my Salomon boots!

Purchased these boots for hiking. They were comfortable right out of the box. Worked great on a rugged trail. Lightweight yet provide good support.

Great walking shoes. I bought them based on other LL Bean reviews which have been accurate. They are true to fit, I wear 8.5 narrow and not too wide. They didn't need to be broken in and are light and waterproof. I just hope they hold up to the fine quality of LL Bean products.

Out of the box they look and feel great. Have not worn for an extended walk yet but I think they'll be fine.

I'm so pleased with these boots. Super comfortable, good toe box width and ankle support, lightweight, and waterproof.

Why I like these shoes - Gore-Tex Waterproof, good traction sole specially designed for hiking, breathable outer material, ankle length that protects/supports my ankle from accidental twisting, special protection material for toe area, cushiony insole for comfort, and fashionable look. Wish the color is black for easier matching of various color clothing. I ordered 1/2 size bigger to allow for mid weight to thick socks. If I wear thin socks, I simply tighten the shoes laces.

Very lightweight and supportive. Favorite shoe for outdoor walking or hiking.

Very comfortable, didn't need any breaking in. Waterproof for shallow puddles mostly (I wouldn't try to splash through deep puddles).

I am really happy with this purchase. I like the style, colors, comfort and support. Currently, I'm wearing them at work on third shift to try them out. Then will wear to Iceland in couple of months.
