I've found Salomon to be the most consistent and comfy fit for my feet. I bought these for trail running but haven't had as much time for that as I'd hoped, so I can't call myself a dedicated runner. But they're also perfect for wearing around town, to work, etc. Very light and breathable, seems to be the same high quality construction I've come to expect from Salomon over the years.

Amazing!! I have just finished 800km trek in these shoes and I cannot believe they still look like new. During 29 days of walking, I had not developed a single blister, the shoes were extremely comfortable and reliable in changing weather conditions. I am using them now for running in the park. Great product! Thank you Salomon!!

Ideal shoe for front range to alpine trails through out the seasons. These have lasted me a year of 350 rugged miles on alpine trails. The width is a bit more generous than my SpeedCross 5s which makes them more comfortable for the longer mile days on moderate trails. Also ideal for varying sock types. They can hold up to scrambling and traversing, but as soon as your tread wears down, they can't hold a toe with confidence. Very breathable and dry quickly when submerged.

Hands down the best trail running shoe I have had. I run all distances about 30miles being the longest distance run. This shoe is great for short and mid distance but also for longer knee and foot banging runs over 15+miles. These Ultra Pro's offer a firm and grippy sole for tech stuff but a nice mid length tred for hard packed single track. If you have a wider foot I think these types of runners would enjoy it a bit more with the bigger toe box. I'd buy boxes of these to have once my current shoes keep breaking down. Nice work Salomon for this one!!! 5Stars

I've been searching for shoes with the perfect fit for a long time, and finally found these. -They're locked down in the heel and midfoot, and the toe box has enough room for toe splay and my slightly wide forefoot. It feels like they're made on a different last from any other Salomon shoes, and everything from the footbed/midsole shape to the upper and the heel counter (and general heel shape) feels like these were made for my feet. -They're extremely comfortable on my long runs, the grip is excellent, and the lug depth is awesome for a huge range of terrain types. -They do a remarkable job of preventing water from getting in, and they drain pretty well. I'm very pleased that they're not goretex, as they're my summer/3-season runners and I want them to drain water and breathe. -They're an 8 mm drop. -I was a bit disappointed that they didn't have a rock plate, but I don't miss it as much as I thought I would, and have appreciated the additional flexibility underfoot. Please never stop making these! They're so good, I bought my local gear shop out of my size. The sizing is labelled a little weird on these, but once you've bought the correct size they're amazing. I'm also not a huge fan of the quicklaces, I prefer the lacing system on the Norvan LDs, but it's fine.

I've had a tough time finding wide enough trail running shoes and have read that Salomon is notorious for being narrow. Read a couple reviews on this model being wider than most of their offerings and it didn't disappoint. Much more stable than the nike wildhorse which I have as a secondary pair.

I started buying these three years ago and love them. The wide toe box and snug heel combo is amazing. LOVE that my toes have room to splay on longs. These truly are a shoe that is comfortable and performs for long distances. The grip is great and the cushioning, although a bit firm, is great for long runs. Thanks Salomon for a stellar show!

The Ultra/Pro is highly stable, well built and comfortable. The sock style liner is comfortable and good at reducing debris from getting in. The cushioning vs stable rigidity is a good balance for rough trail running, and the speed lacing is great as always.

Right off the bat, my advice is that these are probably excellent for someone with narrow feet. They're well constructed, they have a great lacing system, their overall design distributes the lacing tension smoothly around the foot, and they appear very well made. However....for my foot, they were both too narrow and stiff. The stiff part is a personal preference, some people prefer a stiff shoe, others prefer something more compliant, so take this as more of a detail than a good/bad thing. The fit, however, was more of a problem. I wear size 10 Nike running shoes and size 10 Merrell trail shoes by way of reference, and these Salomons were simply difficult to get my foot into. I considered getting them in a half size up, but I don't think this would adequately address the width issue. Too bad for me, had they fit better I definitely would have kept them, they're excellent shoes.
I'd also recommend:
