Got this jacket about a month ago and I'm pretty sure I have worn it every day since. I researched a bunch of jackets from all different brands before placing my order and I'm so glad I went with this one. It's the beginning of winter here in Maine, and this jacket has kept me feeling super warm so far. It's also very soft, light, packable, and versatile. I've been wearing it mostly for casual use, walking the dog, etc. but I'll probably wear it skiing this winter too. I especially like how high up the collar goes when the jacket is fully zipped. It keeps my face nice and warm. I'm 5'4", 120 lbs and size small fits perfectly. I do wish it were a tiny bit longer on the bottom, but overall, I'm very happy with this jacket.

I love it. We all have the light puffy, but this is a great jacket for cold days. The hood and neck are great designs.

It's been such a great jacket to wear under a shell on colder days. Doesn't restrict movement while I ski, great addition to my layer collection.

I bought the Thorium hoody to use as an everyday winter jacket for cooler fall and early winter months. Was picking between Cerium and Thorium. Thorium has more full and feels warmer on and I'm happy I made that choice. Figment is a great colour and have already received compliments

I bought the Thorium as my first insulated jacket. I thought it may be too warm after reading some reviews but when worn with a simple base layer, this is all you need. I was warm and dry from a few spots of rain. The outer is durable and the down keeps you toasty warm.

Love this jacket, the shell material is nice and robust feeling, has a matte finish. The inner lining is satin silky feeling thinner material. Very comfortable. Feels like a sleeping bag. The jacket has a ton of down insulation and feels very filled out and not under filled like some jackets feel. My new favorite jacket!
Ordered XL at first. Fits roomy. Downsized to L. Its slightly snug but much warmer. 220 6'4"

Bought as a present - 6ft 2 tall and slim build and the medium fits well. I've still got room for a jumper underneath. Good arm length, lightweight and a really warm jacket - I have hardly stopped wearing it!

I purchased this jacket to replace my Cerium LT that unfortunately was either too tight in the medium (around chest area) or way too big in a large. I simply love the Thorium. It is not as fitted as my other Arc pieces, but it is so warm! I run cold and I can't believe how warm this jacket is. It also fits nicely under my Beta shell making it perfect for all sorts of weather and temps. I also appreciate the sturdier fabric than the Cerium. Lastly, the pockets are a dream for keeping my hands warm. Love this jacket - the only improvement would be a slimmer fit, but, hey, plenty room for layers if needed and it still doesn't look overly baggy. My boyfriend complimented the fit of this jacket straight away - especially how it lays on the back.

Bought this to replace my Atom Hoody which I love but is quite old and wearing out.
First impressions are great. Bought medium and am 6'2" 165. Happy with fit. Have had a few days near 0 Celsius and have just worn a t shirt underneath and it's very toasty.
Have no doubt will perform great when real winter comes.
Plan to use it as a mid layer for skiing and winter camping and as a stand alone on chilly fall and spring days.

Great lightweight jacket that is warm, and cuts the wind. Ripped my first Thorium and just bought a replacement.

I bought this jacket one year ago. It provides fantastic warmth and breathability. It is also very lightweight and portable. The gold on black color scheme looks great.

I purchased this in 2020, and it's made me enjoy those cold winter hikes! I'm easily chilled & can wear this with the Kyanite Fleece & Zeta SL Shell in -20C & remain very toasty! :)
I've noticed you started making XXS in some clothing items, and would most definitely purchase this a second time if this size became available! I was drawn to Arc for the elegant & petite cuts & find the XS still a bit oversized for my frame.
Thanks for making an incredible product Arc!

Have had my Thorium for a year. I'm always freezing & live in a place where it can be colder in the summer than in the winter. This jacket gets a lot of use and has held up well, only showing minor marks where sharp dog claws have dug into it with force. It hasn't snagged on branches, hasn't burned when embers hit it, and hasn't held the smell of campfire for very long. Only surface cleanings so far. Overall very happy with it and the fit - nothing funny/abnormal about the one I got. I'm 5'2", athletic build with broad shoulders and the XS fits with lighter layers. For heavier layers underneath, I'm getting a S.

This is one of my favorite arcteryx jackets
Pros:
Super warmcan easily wear with just a t shirt underneath down to 20s F and lower with more layers. The fabric feels durable and reassuring, especially compared to my cerium LT. I really like the neck coverage with the hooded version.
Cons:
It's puffy, and I can barely fit it under my beta LT of the same size, so that's something to consider. It's heavier than my cerium LT, so if you want to minimize weight, that's also a consideration.

I use this on cold days under my shell for ski patrol and have put over 50 days on it and it's still like new. Durable, warm, great quality and even good as stand alone jacket.

I bought this jacket a few months ago as an all-round that I could wear walking the dog around town and everyday use. I typically run quite cold and this jacket has surprised me time and time again with keeping me warm and cozy, even during minimal activity (gentle walking). On frigid days (-30 Celsius), I pair it with the Covert Hoody and I'm practically overheated. I live in a very windy place (SW Alberta) and this jacket is seemingly near impervious. The only complaints are that while the neck cuff is high and cozy when zipped, it's a bit annoying (won't fold down) when unzipped. It's also a bit overkill (too warm) for running errands (i.e. running indoors from outdoors or being in the car), even on the coldest days.

I've had both Cerium's and Thorium's for a long time. The Cerium down pieces are excellent used as midlayers. They have more delicate face fabric so it's better to keep them inside of a shell of some kind (goretex, waxed jacket, wool, etc).
The Thorium is my favorite down layer from Arc though. It has a tough face fabric and you can wear it as your outer layer. It's also still very packable. A phenomenal all-around down puffer. As with the Cerium it's extremely warm.
Size up so that you can layer a little bit underneath and for a bit of extra coverage. You won't regret it.
