I bought a beta AR jacket a while back, and I worn them for hiking and skiing only a few times. But the material is ripped off! I never expected the material is so flimsy. I then contacted the after sale service and all they can offer is to send me a patch like a bandage to put on the jacket. I don't think the quality justifies the high price tag. I was even more disappointed by the services.

Im hoping Arcteryx would make more bright
colors of this style Like Techno, the banana yellow.
Anything bright colors and more sizes.
Arcteryx always have the famous colors sold out and not making more for the reat of us that do not check the site daily.

Please contact me customer support. My jacket wets out within half an hour of light rain, I'm hoping it is a faulty product if not I'm extremely disappointed in a seemingly top of the range jacket. Look forward to hearing your response.

Best jacket I ever had - loved the fit and functionality for biking and the annual skiing trip. Really sad it only lasts 2-3 years as the layers are now peeling and waterproofness is gone. I expected more from Arcteryx making the most expensive jackets in the business. Great functionality but not made to last - even just with mild use.

Bought a Beta AR (black) M in 2019. The main draw was the pit zips, sleeve length (I have long arms), gore-tex Pro, and high customisability. Whilst it did deliver on these benefits, in just over 2 years the outer layers in the jacket have separated considerably. This is especially so in the most mobile parts of the jacket, namely the sleeves and hood (refer to photos of both sleeves and the collar). Whilst I have not perceived negative effects to performance, the 'blistering' is very unsightly and unexpected. I have had to reapply DWR on occasion and have used it relatively lightly (i.e. the odd hike). For an outer shell that costs almost 1000 AUD and touts
"The GORE-TEX PRO with Most Rugged Technology - a next-gen material we developed in collaboration with Gore - delivers maximum durability.",
the value for money is terrible.

Just got the jacket in the mail as a replacement for an old one that did not last very long. Disappointed is an understatement. The arms come to my fingertips and the body is so tight there is no room for layering anything underneath.
It's going back in the morning. I'm getting my money back and I will never spend another dime with this company. My 8 year old looked at the website and declared all of your jackets overpriced. He's right. Considering the very bad fit of the new jacket and the way the old jacket would soak through after a couple hours in the rain, and fell apart after only a few years, I've decided to not shop with you ever again. Your products are not at all a good value for the large prices you charge for them. I really wanted to support a Canadian company but I am completely confused by your sizing and extremely disappointed by your product's durability. You have lost a customer.

Well-constructed, but way too small. I'm a 6-05 former collegiate athlete who still keeps fit. The size charts indicate that XXL will fit a chest measurement up to 50.5 inches. My chest measurement is 52-53 inches, which would easily be accommodated by a jacket in size 3XL. There are a lot of larger men like me who have become avid outdoor enthusiasts after their athletic careers ended, and I would not be surprised if your inventory of 3XL jackets sold out quickly (they do with other brands).

I have purchased three Beta ARs over the years. The jacket layers well for mountaineering and backpacking. My two prior jackets were durable. My latest one is not. The material wore our much more quickly, and seams came undone from normal use. The jacket no longer is worth the very high price.

The first winter, a branch made a hole in the jacket. Garbage material. You'd thought it would be resistant for the price. This is literally like throwing your money out the window.

First off I could not get my jacket in the color I wanted.
Found comparable rain jackets made equally well by other vendors considerably cheaper.
Expected a life time warranty for a rain jacket at that price and a stuff sack to go with it. For real

Like every Arcteryx product, it works in the beginning then as it's out of warranty it starts to have problems with the zipper, the heat-sealing and small holes in the fabric.
Considered the high-price paid you would expect a definitely longer duration of the product.
It doesn't happen with Arcteryx at all.
Strongly NOT recommended.
Writing this review after 5 years of ownership and test in outdoor, city life mostly. So didn't go extreme weathers and product was always stored with maximum care.
SHAME!

I have owned lots of Arc'teryx gear over the years and treated myself to a new Beta AR this year. I'm sorry to say that this jacket was a very expensive disappointment. There is one thing I expected it to do -- keep me dry -- but it absolutely failed from its very first use.
Since I have had Arc'teryx rain gear in the past and just assume it works, I didn't hesitate to pack this jacket for a Kilimanjaro climb as soon as it arrived. Bad move. We had a few days of rain on the mountain and, though it wasn't extreme or torrential, I found my inner layers consistently got wet. The arms of this jacket soaked through especially quickly, and the only part of me that wasn't wet down to the base layer after a couple hours of hiking in steady rain was the area of my back covered by my pack -- starting from its very first wear!! I so, so wish I had tested this jacket in rain before relying on it as an essential piece of gear. Because I hadn't, I was wet and cold and uncomfortable for much of my climb.
If you're going to just wear this jacket to and from the car on drizzly days, it might be fine. But if you're looking for actual rain gear that will keep you dry in the great outdoors, I'm sorry to say you'll have to look elsewhere.

Gracias.

Like the jacket, better quality than my last rain jacket, plenty of room for layering. Not a great fan of the hood - but it works which is important.

I bought this jacket lightly used and got less than a year out of it and the seam tapes was coming off the draw cord is dangling around me like a hula hoop and from day one it was not waterproof at all. One of the worst mistakes I have made. Also fabric is getting air pockets in it.

I have had this jacket for 8yrs and have only ever used it for casual use. No major adventures. I wash it today for the 2nd time only and the waist cord has popped out of the hem. Very disappointed. Previously I had a Berghaus Goretex for 14 years with adventure use and it never failed. I admit the Arcteryx is a lot lighter than the Berghaus, however, I feel Arcteryx is stamping a premium for name's sake and the quality isn't there. If I had got close to 14 years of use then I would have bought another one because the style and function are certainly worth the price. however, I'm done robustness is equally important. This is a made in CANADA jacket...not CHINA.

I saved up and treated myself to this jacket, and I loved the performance overall. However, after maybe 5 mountain-climbing excursions, I found two spots on the inside lining that have worn almost completely through. I did not abuse the jacket at all, but I guess maybe there was some exposed velcro on my pants that was rubbing during the climb. I contacted the warranty center, but was told that this can't be fixed; instead they sent me a piece of tape to patch it. I've only had the jacket for a little over a year...have to say I now regret the purchase.
Bottom line: if you decide to spend the money on this jacket, be very careful with it - the inside lining can be easily damaged. And despite what the Warranty and Repair Policy says, it will not be "repaired at a nominal charge."

After having had 3 outdoor jackets (from TNF, Patagonia and Berghaus) in the past which all lasted 10+ years. I decided to step up in price a little and buy an BETA AR. I'm sad to say that it turned out to be a great disappointment.
After about 1,5 years the loop for hanging up the jacket came off. Soon after that a number of taped seals started to come off which I glued back with seamgrip.
After about 2,5-3 years in the seams around both cuffs and the seems holding elastic cord at the bottom of jacket started coming loose.
Now after 3,5 years, the only issue I don't directly fault Arc'teryx for, the zipper has died.
I would not recommend this jacket to anyone.
Disappointed,
