These were always my coworkers and my favorite boots. However, the last 3 times we ordered these, whether it was a regular width or a wide width size, were very narrow. They squeezed several of our feet and were uncomfortable. I even bought shoe stretchers to try to stretch them out. They seem narrow up towards the ball of the foot. The length was ok. We have been buying this boot for 4 years now, And they used to fit like a glove. Not sure what happened, but the Madsen boots fit perfect. Sizes that were purchased 8, 9 1/2, 9 1/2 wide, and 10 1/2 wide.

Had them three weeks. Perfect fit and very comfortable right out of the box. However, they are dangerously slick on ice. In the first time on ice I fell in my driveway while I was standing still. I crawled back to the door. On ice these boots have no traction or grip at all. Any shoe in my closet is better. I have a long driveway and we had an ice storm a couple of days ago. Moments ago I took the garbage up to the road wearing Crocs. Crocs! because they had more traction and were safer on ice than the Chocoruas. But for this terrible flaw they are, so far, wonderful boots. What a shame.

I recently purchased the original version from another retailer. Got wide width and needed wider. Now looks like they only come in medium . NOT GOOD TIMBERLAND!!! Other wise a great boot. If you have a narrow or medium foot I'm sure you'll like them.

The boots are extremely comfortable and hard require a break in time, but I went through 2 pairs in 4 months.
I wear these boots everyday at work and they're on dry hard surface 80% of the time. After 3 months the sole started separating from the outer leather and the eye hooks broke off from the boot.
The boots are amazingly comfortable but that craftsmanship is subpar, at best.

I would love to love these boots but after owning four pairs of the Chocorua's over the years the quality just isn't there anymore. The first two pair I literally wore them to the ground, great boots. The last two pair some of the metal eyelet hooks on both pair, both boots (left and right) snapped off after about a month of everyday use. I was forced to drill holes through the eyelets just to tie the shoe laces, which off course rendered them no longer water-proof. This seems to also be a common problem with my co-workers who wear this same boot. We are facilities maintenance technicians at the 2nd largest public university in the state, they pay for the boots so it's not a money issue with us, but we've discussed this as a group and have unfortunately decided it is time to switch brands.

Bad Warranty/Customer Service
Sorry to say that it's time to switch companies after being a customer for over 10 years

So I switched from a competitor to Timberland and I'm bummed. Ordered size ten like other boots but my toes touched the ends; thank goodness for the free return policy. Back to the waiting game. Then I start reading reviews and sole detachment becomes my next concern. Stay tuned...

i like the boots, i have had around 3 to 4 pairs over the years, the worst part is the front of the sole separates from the boot, this has happened to 3 out of the 4 pairs. there for i will not be purching another pair, timberland needs to replace these boots.

2 Stars on comfort only. Absolutely NOT WATER PROOF!! 1 st. time wearing them I was working in app. 6 in. tall damp, dew covered grass. App. 1 hr. later felt moisture on my toes, went into shop to check and sock was completely wet + my toes.
Do not understand how they can, in any way call these "Water Proof".

I have two pair, one made in China and the other made in Vietnam. The pair from China fit great, but the pair made in Vietnam do NOT fit well and are not even close as far as comfort. The Vietman pair are much narrower and don't break in as well as the boots from China. Yes, both the China and Vietnam boots are the same size and width. I recommend the boots from China, but not Vietnam!

Bought these for casual winter wear, which is great, it is durable and water resistant for the few days of rain we get in California. However, I am a bit disappointed in the quality of craftsman ship or materials used in the production of this shoe. Keep in mind I bought these brand new and took them on a hiking trip to John Muir trail and 30 mile trek of endless switch backs and rocks while carrying a 60 lbs. backpack. At the end of the trip the outer sole was starting to unbound from the leather. Compared to but buddies boots from another manufacture his boots looked fine. We all carried the same amount of weight in terms of gear and supplies.
Pros:
Very comfortable, water resistant, easy to clean
Cons:
Not made well, starting to fall apart after one hiking trip

My boyfriend wore boots similar to these for over 10 years. They finally wore out and got a rip in the side, so no longer waterproof. I bought these boots from Timberland's website for him to replace the old ones. He only wears them working in the yard. No rough terrain there, no rocks, no weird footing. After 8 months of wear, the sole of one shoe totally separated. We contacted Timberland to have them replaced under the warranty and our request was refused. Timberland offered us a $20 gift card as a condolence prize, but refuses to stand by its product, claiming the 1-inch piece still attached to the shoe is proof the sole was not defective. Get Merrell, buy Keen, but stay away from these shoes - and if you buy them, don't expect Timberland to stand behind its product.

TOTAL GARBAGE! wore them 12x and the leather peeled off the toes. wore them in gentle conditions and always took great care of them too. submitted a claim and was instantly blown off, told 'this is normal wear and tear'. LAME--get Merrells, TImberland is NOT what it used to be!!!!

I bought these online and after one day of wearing them there was a crease made inside the foot of the boot and it started to cut into my toes and it was painful to walk in them. They fit good and looked good but there was clearly a defect. The material used was over treated and made it stiff and not soft like other timberland boots. I returned them for another pair and Timberland then returned them back to me saying they were worn and I would have to file a warranty issue, which is with another department. So i did that and have yet to hear back from timberland. I have no store credit and no other pair of boots to show for them. So i lost my money and Timberland hasn't responded. So i cannot recommend these boots and I will not be buying from Timberland again. They used to make amazing products, I own several pairs, but this experience left me not wanting to do business with them again.

Bought these to replace the same boots I had for 4 years. After 3 weeks I couldn't wear them...they were killing my feet. Customer service didn't offer a reasonable resolution! I'll by another brand from now on

.....worn about 5 times when new and what with moves etc. they have been stored for about 3 to 4 years......after doing a sort out at home I decided to wear them last night ~ weather was mild and a little damp but they felt perfectly comfortable on the walk of about 30 minutes and much to my surprise I could not believe my eyes but the sole started to disintegrate ~ first the raised treads started breaking off, the front of the boot split in half and then the soles just dissolved within the three hours of my night out leaving me to walk home on what would be the fabric lining under the rubber sole ~ wet feet not fun !......now with this style of boot (complete molded sole) appears you cannot do a replacement either such a disappointment in this model !......I've owned 3 pairs of the all leather high boots and they are like tanks ~ been through all types of weather that Canada can throw at us......at least the serving staff at my local had a good laugh at my expense watching me leave a trail of rubber each time i walked about !!.....
