Liked the shoe but it was to big and had to return it. If I ordered it again I would order 1/2 size smaller

... But I will keep them because I really do like to have a slip on. The main problem, as others have said, is the shoe is too wide. The fact that I have to wear socks in order for them to fit properly is not something that I wanted to do. I just wanted to be able to slip these on with bare feet and do whatever I needed to do.

I'm so frustrated! Why is it so hard to find consistent or logical sizing within a single brand? I tried a size larger in these and they were huge - too long, wide and a super high instep, something I rarely complain about. One size down and they're way too short, but perfect width. There's nothing in between. I have hard feet to fit and these were almost a good answer, with plenty of cushioning, good arch support and easy on/off. Oh, and pretty cute, even at sizes 11 and 12. But I can't wear them, so back they go.
I'd also recommend:
Born, Josef Seidel, Merrell (except they no longer fit when I need size 12)

While I purchased 1/2 size down from my workout shoe size, these were too big which was surprising so I had to return them. Next time I will try my regular shoe size.

They fit well and are comfortable. They're cut higher on the side of the foot than my last pair. The material above the toes wrinkles.

nice foot bed but I wear a 9.5 and these are 8.5--still had to fill them up with an insert. Sizing and volume suggests this is actually a men's shoe relabeled for women so I am going to test drive for awhile to be sure they really fit and don't just feel good today. Colors are boring and detailing over the ice zone could be a lot more interesting, but it the shoe fits.....

I wore the prior model NB 801s as my summer/ post workout shoes for years in a size 9W, perfect with socks. After reading reviews, I ordered a half size smaller in both medium and wide width due to the style changes. The wide was impossible— couldn’t keep it on my feet at all. Then tried the same size in regular B width. Better, but I could still walk out of them. Hmmm. Then I went through my box of orthotics, thinking it was simply foot volume in this new style. I tried everything. Full foot, 3/4 foot, soft, hard, custom. Having high arches and prior plantar fasciitis, I’ve accumulated quite a stash. Even my full foot huge Superfeet for athletic shoes (the green color) didn’t solve the fit problem. I’m hanging on to the 81/2 B, returning the 8 1/2 W, and just ordered an 8 B. Love the looks of this shoe but the fit is far trickier than the prior 801s. I had plenty of space between my big toe and end of shoe, 3/4 to 1/2 inch, so am hoping the 8B will be a good fit. I drive a little roadster with manual transmission and shoes can be a safety issue (no problem with prior 801s). For reference, I wear an 8 W in street shoes, 9-9 1/2 W in athletics.

The back of the shoe is too low. It needs to be higher to keep it from slipping off my foot. I had another pair of slip on gym shoes from new balance that were excellent. Unfortunately they don't make them anymore. I should have bought another pair when I had the chance!

I haven't had the shoes long enough to know how they hold up, but I had hoped for the comfort of athletic footwear. These aren't any more comfortable than the less expensive brand that I've been wearing. Also, if you wear your slip-on shoes without socks, as I do, these don't work well. The portion of the shoe that has mesh is somewhat abrasive on the inside. I wouldn't buy them again.

I’m very disappointed with this pair of shoes. The mesh top is apparently very thin because there is now a hole where my great toe is after only five months. I owned a previous pair that lasted four years. That pair was no longer available for quite a while so I was thrilled when it came available again. It isn’t the same good quality that I expect from a New Balance shoe. I need to wear this type of due to my Achilles tendinitis. On the plus side though, I like the style as a slip on and it’s very comfortable.

I loved the 801's. Hoped these would be a good replacement. Fit too large. Not as comfy. Regretfully had to return.

I love clogs, I have a NB clog from way back the difference between this one and the old one is a matter of centimeters, the top of the clog rubs against the connection of leg and foot, it needs to be just half an inch shorter, for short feet.... Otherwise I would have kept it

I was hoping to replace my old 801 slip on shoes by NB. These just don"t fit the same. The toe box is not as wide, yet they don"t taper in to feel more secure on the foot. I wish they could bring 801 back

Followed other reviews and ordered a half size down. Left was a bit snug but the right was ok. I tried the 6.5 and they were too big all around. I am a solid size 6.5 and that is what I ordered from New Balance in the past. Totally miss the 801's. These are ok. If I liked them better I would order 4 pairs to make sure I had a comfortable shoe for work and recreation.

These shoes were way too big. I normally wear size 8 in NB shoes, however I do have a pair of open back NB shoes that are worn out and were size 7.5. I finally went to the NB store and ordered a pair that are size 7! It's a crap shoot if NB shoes are going to fit. Really too hard to order on Zappos for this reason.

They're ok style wise just ok. The wide width is good. I'm not crazy for them, but since the 801 was discontinued I have had difficulty finding a slipon sneaker for my wide feet and high instep. So far nothing NB makes or anyone else comes close to the 801.

I used to buy New Balance 990 slip on, which I loved. Much sturdier shoe. This new version is Cheaper made from top to bottom. The back tends to fold over because it is so light weight. Really wish they would come back with the 990.

Not like the other shoe I had with same stock number. Larger and wider. A little disappointed it was not the same.

I hesitated to return these shoes since they really are not bad, but they are somewhat clunky looking. They look very wide, making my feet look almost square. I have other similar shoes that are much more flattering. I wanted slip on shoes so am disappointed that these do not work.

Returning. This was the second attempt at getting the size that would fit me best, but at the end of the day the truth is that I just don't care for the newly restyled version of this shoe. The new style feels kind of bulbous and clumsy to me. Not as comfortable or attractive as the original version. I will need to try another brand of slip-on shoe.
