These are a good looking shoe, and fit the bill for everything I wanted. Unfortunately they were just a bit too narrow. They feel more like a standard wide fit, not extra wide. The tongue didn't quite fully cover the top of my foot when fully laced, they were that narrow. New balance has never given me fit issues like this before. I also was surprised that there was virtually no arch support at all. I would have been using my own orthotics, but there was not even a hint of arch support here. I considered keeping them, but I can't afford to wear ill fitting shoes anymore.

according to New Balance this show replaces the 669 I have happily worn for several years, however this shoe is sized differently, too short (my toes hit the front) and the toe box is not as wide, making for a too snug fit. sending these back

Although I'm not a fan of the two color schemes offered in this shoe, I settled for the black with the very light blue nylon tongue combination in a size 9.5W but found the shoe ran short. My toes were hitting the end of the shoe, which never happens (my foot actually measures as a 8.5 W but because of my high arch and wide toe bed, I always order 9.5W in women's shoes). I also didn't like the light blue nylon on the tongue, which looked washed out and cheap. The light grey colored shoe with the faux suede, looked liked it would get dirty, so I didn't consider this a practical color for an outdoor all weather walking shoe. When I walked in the shoe, it felt like something was pressing in the middle of the bottom of my sole, which was another negative tick against this shoe. Because of the sizing and feeling like there was something under my sole, I sent this pair back. On the plus side, I liked the overall appearance of the shoe because it didn't look geriatric or like Frankenstein monster shoes, which most women's walking shoes appear to look like to me.

I always buy size 9.5 wide in New Balance - and usually do not have a fit problem. I did with these. They were too short. I thought they were cute. And the width was nice and wide. But my toe was hitting the front. Sent them back.

I had a pair of New Balance hiking shoes and loved them, but they don’t sell them anymore. I bought these hoping I’d love them too, but the padding around the ankle is ridiculously overdone and rubbed too much on my ankle and heel. Sending them back :(

Shoe style is ok. I ordered the Marblehead/Magnet color in 12D, the size I wear in a New Balance shoe. Not these! They felt short and were so snug and uncomfortable I didn't even bother trying to lace them up or walk around in them. The moment I put them on my foot I could tell their width was too tight and not going to work for me.

Do like the feel of arch support. Also, very heavy. Selected this item because of poor selection in wide wide width sizes.

After.reading an article recommending New Balance shoes for people suffering from plantar fasciitis, I decided to give these a try. I had high hopes for a good fit since the shoes came in widths other than medium. I ordered my usual size 7 1/2 wide. The width of the shoes was fine, but they were far too short -- my toes were right up against the front of the shoe, so hiking in these would have been impossibly painful. It also felt as if the arch support was slightly forward of where it needed to be to support my foot. Thank goodness for Zappos free returns!

Even in the extra wide size, the rounded toe presses in on my baby toes. The soles really need a cushion; there seems to be no give.

love the shoe but not for me i tried several sizes and medium width as well as wide but the right shoe seems to be narrower i tie the shoe tight with the tounge straight and you can see the top of my socks though the shoe. i normally wear and 8.5 w in new balance but these just dont work for me

First time disappointed in NB Shoes. I have a closet full all in the same size. This one, however is too small. Will return.

I bought the same size and width (7.5 M) in this NB style I wore two years ago, but had to return them since my toes were now jammed into the front and my whole foot, which is somewhat narrow, felt too wide for the medium width. I hesitate to order an 8W in this model since I've never had to order a shoe that big or wide in any other shoe model. My feet still fit comfortably into my 7.5 M Vasque hiking boots even with the original footbed and my added arch supports, so my feet haven't gotten appreciably bigger or wider in those two years. And I loved this model's style so much that it's too bad the whole shoe's been shrunk!
