This shoe is a great improvement from the authentic model. Walking comfort is a definite plus due to the added insole cushion. Fit of the shoes run a little narrow but after breaking in the shoe, the leather starts to mold to your feet.

This is my third pair of Gold Cup Sperry shoes and they are always comfortable and plush with nice, cushioned insoles. You can tell the materials are a step up from the standard A/O models.
I deducted one star because for the second time the front of the leather that extends from the heel to 3/4 of the way to the toe came unglued. When you constantly slide your foot in and out of the shoe, the leather starts to roll up. This happened on my first pair. I used a razor and cut the piece off. If Sperry should extend this leather to the toe or use a better glue. That said, I'd buy them again.

Always happy with Sperry. I've owned over 20 pair of their boat shoes!

Very comfy and durable shoe. A bit small, so order half size bigger.

The quality of the shoe and materials are quite high. They have a good arch support and there is a quality that is apparent both in the feel of the leather, the leather liners, and visual appearance. Personally I love the way they look and feel. Having worn nearly exclusively top siders for the past 30 or so years these are as good in terms of initial appearance and feel as any of the higher end shoes. HOWEVER: They are only available as a medium or wide width. If you have a WW or EEE width or more you cannot buy these since Sperry does not make the wider widths. Yet you can buy one of their cheaper shoes in a EEE or wider. WHY? It makes no sense and it excludes people with wide feet from enjoying a very nice shoe. Sperry needs to get this resolved and offer this width as well to all of us wide foot consumers. Clearly when one wears these for as long as I have ones feet tend to get wider. Why not give us wide folks the same opportunities to enjoy a high quality top sider?
Otherwise a great show but something I personally cannot wear.

I read a review that the shoe runs big and mistakenly ordered a size too large and wide. They would've fit nicely otherwise. Very comfy. Got a new order on the way!

The shoes fit fine and are extremely comfortable. However, they did not come with the gold eyelets for the laces. When I ordered them I asked if the eyelets were gold in color and was assured they were.

Love the look and feel. Only complaint is the lack of 18k eyelets.

I got these for a gift for my boyfriend and when I received them the color was different from what it appeared like on the website. I returned them and the return process has taken almost a month.

A bit narrow, however to wear over a period of time will mold to my feet without an issue....leather supple and VERY soft...great product....if in between med/wide, go wide but may not be able to go bare

I have had the Authentic Original for a number of years, but the Gold Cup is a step up in quality and comfort. Highest quality lings make this an exceptionally comfortable shoe.

This shoe was extremely comfy, the description matched the product very accurately. Only thing that wasn't perfect was the size, ran a little big. Would recommend.

So the reason I give this shoe a 4 star in stead of 5 is not because of its comfort and style, it is the coloring inside of the shoe. I wore white and black socks and after wearing them for an extended amount of time, I started sweating. As I sweat, the ink rubs off on to the sock leaving the bottom of the sock the color of the shoe lining

I am disappointed in the quality of the Gold Cup boating shoe as it is a far cry from the original.

Really well made. The addition of a cushion insole made them a bit too snug for my size and the leather that covered it was sticky. Prefer the standard ones.

Received a new pair of the Gold Cup AO Boat shoe however the current version has a SEWN IN fabric Label which is uncomfortable as you would not wear with socks and it is a serious irritant. Maybe I can remove the label. Of course that would probably leave an indentation that would also be an irritant>>>??? HELP Fix so next pair will go back to the imprinted information sizing, materials and country of mfr (INDONESIA).

While Sperry Gold Cups are comfortable, in order to get the length I need, I must order a10.5. That size will cause the shoe to be too wide in the heel. A shoe that is that price should be made with more care. It is a boat shoe and most people will wear the shoe without a sock and will find the shoe a little wide.

Comfort and style are excellent. My only complaint is the padded insert frays because it is not one piece, and so it curls up and becomes unglued -- not sure how to fix. Is this an issue due to large shoe size (13)?
