I spent a lot of time researching different backpacks to have the best one for school. I want a backpack that could comfortably carry all my books, my laptop, my tablet, and anything else I need. I have specific things I desired including pockets that hold a large water bottle, a buckle to clip the straps across my chest, and simple classic colors. I settled on this backpack and was not disappointed. I have not had it long but so far it has been great. Very pleased with the design and quality. It will hopefully last for a long time.

Extremely light and comfortable. I have a heavy duty laptop that fits perfectly in there and it doesn't feel too heavy! After I got this backpack I noticed my back didn't feel as sore as it used to. I wish that the 2nd-to-front compartment had a deeper pocket so that I could put my charger in there and it wouldn't be so cramped. But I have decided to just put my charger in the compartment where all my books and notebooks go.

I use this product for school & it's just amazing.

I use this backpack for college and it is perfect for it. The laptop pocket is great and fits a 15 in laptop. The large compartment is great for a couple of books. The small compartment has a good variety of pockets. the fleece lined pocket is great for a phone or sunglasses.

I use this product everyday and it has the perfect amount of space for all my needs and i enjoy the peace of mind knowing that it is well made durable pack

Great for college!

Great pack, durable with sleek design, nice amount of room

It looks small but I can fit so many things into this awesome bag. My last north face lasted 10 years and I loved it. I took it on business and also on vacation. This bag looks even more durable. It's been a month and so far no issues.

This is my first higher end backpack that I've purchased. In the past I've had Jansport backpacks that were durable enough for the price and I got a good amount of use out of them, eventually I moved on to a Timbuk2 backpack that was not at all what I expected out of something so expensive. I've always liked other apparel from the North Face and was aware of their reputation as a durable brand so I figured their backpack would be well made too. I'm impressed by the build quality of the Borealis, it seems like every small detail was meticulously designed and the material it's made out of feels durable. I especially love the small pocket towards the outside, it's really convenient not having to dig through all the way to the bottom of pocket while looking for something, but it's still big enough to store a lot of everyday carry items. The weight of all of my stuff seems lighter than it actually is due to the way the weight is distributed, really good for extended use. For school or light travel this is perfect. I only wish I can remove the waist belt and reattach it when I need it. I'm glad I went with this backpack.

Bought this for my son who is going to college. He loves the design and features and reputation for durability.

I use this pack for just about anything, from school to hiking. Really has great features that make it a durable pack that can be utilized in many different ways.

My son will use this backpack as he heads off to college in Colorado next month.

I'm a college student (who happens to be very broke) and decided to spoil myself by purchasing a nice, expensive backpack. I went with the Borealis Black w/ Patches (I chose not to buy the women's version only because I prefer thicker bands on the shoulder). It's AMAZING - there's so many pockets, the side mesh pockets for drinks can expand to fit my 40oz. Hydroflask. It is also expandable to accomodate more things - for me, this means it's easier to bring a binder, laptop, and textbook to class than ever before. I will be using it full-time in the fall, once I go back to school - and I'm 100% looking forward to it!

I just got this backpack as a gift. I like the borealis style backpack and as a women I did not like the women's style of the backpack. So when I saw the men's one I was so happy, I love the colors and it look more practical. Very spacious, lightweight, and durable. Will definitely recommend to anyone.

I use it for school and it is really nice. Very spacious yet doesn't take up much space.

Great backpack for my computer

I use this product for everything to travel it's super roomy. When I'm going for a walk pack a few things it's comfortable to have on and it's super lightweight

I mainly use this bag as my EDC bag for work. The build quality is great. The material and zippers are very durable and should hold up well to many years of use/abuse. There are plenty of pockets and orginazition. The shoulder straps are well padded and the sternum strap helps to distribute the load during hikes. I have been a fan of TNF products for years and have never had any issues with any of their products and I'm sure this backpack will surely stand up to the test of time as well. I highly recommend this bag.

Overall great universal backpack. Take it on the road or throw in a hydration pack and take it on the trail. Good storage space and comfortable wicking/padding.

Excellent backpack for carrying a day's worth of gear away from the car. Holds up well and easily has enough room for my days with of gear. Fantastic Purchase. With TNF warranty I can rest easy that this pack will last me for years to come.

School and outdoors backpack

The Borealis backpack is my fourth NorthFace purchase. I bought one for my son. I have three for business use: messenger bag, 40L bag and the Borealis. All the bags are of excellent quality and utility. My three bags afford me the flexibility of backing very light or adding significant material. The Borealis is my most recent purchase and my primary daily bag of it's lightweight, sturdy and roomy.

I've spend the last year looking for the perfect bag. I've found it in this bag. Perfect bag = a bag I use for my everyday, work, gym, but can easily use on the weekends with my camera and drone. Room for a hydration system.
