I needed a new laptop back for work. I sale the sale on this and figured why not. Let me say this is in the tops as far as quality. Feels light on the back. How the many pockets are in the bag allows it to carry a lot of items, however, it stays thin. This would be very ideal if on a commuter subway, or not wanting anything bulky.

Well designed and built backpack. Good use of pockets. Really enjoy the separate laptop pocket. My only criticism is the pack is a little heavy when empty. I also wish it had slightly more volume. Otherwise it looks and feels like it will last a while.

Amazing bag! It's roomy and has a lot of pockets. It still has a small form factor. I feel like my MacBook Pro will be well protected. Loved all the hidden internal pockets so I can organize my gear. Bag is sturdy and I can tell that it will last me a long time.

I've used the original Surge, Surge II Transit, and now this one. It seems like the modernized version, which makes it more stylish than before

Surprised of how many storage compartments there are, some are hidden away and others more visible. The construction of the bag is solid, zippers strong, and well placed handles when its not on your back. The bag is a little on the heavier side when all your belongings are in there, but its expected for the size of the bag and construction. Stylish for commuting/gym and comfortable after breaking it in. This bag is going to last for a very long time!

Lots of room in this backpack, but doesn't look or feel like a large backpack. I bought this bag as a bigger personal item when traveling, but may start using for work. Feels super durable and looks great. This is my first Northface bag and I'm definitely impressed.

I used the North Face Recon backpack for several years, but it was wearing off, so decided to look for backpacks that have more space than Recon and better organization. I looked around other brands for almost a month, then noticed Surge has more room and improved organization. I can now store my computer in a separate compartment, keep my charger and sunglasses in the front, and all other things in the organizational compartment.
It is larger than Recon and I can see it, but when I started carrying the bag around it wasn't that bulky. So, I'm quite satisfied with the size and organization of this backpack.

This is my first time purchasing a product by The North Face. I've owned a lot of different backpacks, but they've broken down and worn down within a few years. I bought this backpack because of the Lifetime Warranty. Also, I need something waterproof, since I live in Washington, and something I can put my books and laptop in for work and travel. Right out of the package, I can tell that this is a superior product to others that I've owned.

My son a 9th grade freshman in high school depends on the North Face Surge Backpack to keep his binders notebooks calculator and laptop easily accessible. He tells me there is no time to run to his locker between periods. Thank you Northface! This surge design keeps my son mindful and successful as a high school freshman.

I have had a North Face backpack since I was in 4th grade and I have used the same one since. I am now a Junior in college and I finally bought this backpack as a replacement. I couldn't be happier with my purchase! I love how I can fit all of my textbooks and my Mac into the one compartment and still have room for other things.

Bag quality feels great - the straps are comfy and thick. The foam back feels great on my back. There's plenty of room for my 2 laptops (1 for work and other is my personal.) I also carry a Nintendo switch, as well as some winter gear for New England weather. Quality-wise feels very top notch.
