I bought this boot about 8 years ago. I don't wear it everyday for work like some of the reviews I've read, I actually wear it for hunting deer and turkey. I realize they're not intended for hunting but I've used them now for 5 years and they've stood up through water, mud, walking through thorn bushes, snow and rough terrain. The only thing I've experienced was my toes got a little chilly one day during deer hunting, however, this was no fault of Rocky, the boot wasn't intended for hunting. I would definitely recommend these boots though (not for hunting in cold weather) to anyone. It's comfortable when moving through rough terrain, reliable in water and can take the abuse.

I both these around 3 years ago. They're still wearable, but I've ripped the inner cloth at the heel so I'll be getting new ones soon. 3 years, still waterproof. They've been comfortable since the day i put them on. .

I wear these boots while on duty for public safety. After about a year I transition them to my lawn care business. So I get a good 2 plus years of use out of them .

I finally wore out my old Alpha's (about 10 years old) and ordered these. I have been pleasantly surprised as the last has changed and the footbox is wider than the originals. But I guess my feet have widened with age and this is not a problem. The sole is wide, but that provides stability on awkward terrain. I have only two minor complaints, first my feet run hot and the gore-tex lining does not breathe as well as I would like, but I knew that might be an issue going into the purchase. The second, the insole SQUEAKS LOUDLY inside the boot, so if stealth is important to you, be aware. Another insole might solve this issue. Overall, I'm very satisfied with this boot. They are light and feel more like an athletic shoe than a boot.

I have had these boots for over 6 years and they are still the most comfortable boot I've ever worn. I've done about everything in these boots from farm work to standing for 8+ hours on concrete floors. The abuse I have given them is surprising how well they held up. The toes didn't even start to wear down until about 5 months ago. These boots are 100% worth every single penny I spent 6 years ago!

My first pair of Rocky boots. Exactly what I wanted and as advertised. Great boots, especially to keep your feet dry. Wore them all day in 75 degree dry conditions and feet didn't get sweaty or overheated with the waterproofing. Company service was outstanding. First I ordered the wrong size. Return process was simple, fast and unquestioned to get the correct size. I would highly recommend them to anyone. Only small complaint would be the snap covers over the top of the zipper could be a little more sturdy.

I purchased the boots and received them. When I tried them on one of the laces separated. I called customer service to see if they would just mail me a replacement pair of laces, but they would not, I could return the entire pair of boots tat would be much more in shipping than just purchase a new pair of laces. Customer service is not what I would think is up to PAR.

I bought these boots for while I'm on shift at the fire house. I wear them for at least 14 hours a day and they feel great. My feet stay dry and don't hurt at all. Great boots!

So I've been wearing these exact boots for several years now. I absolutely love them. What I'm not a fan of at all, and why only 4 stars, is I don't like how the switched out the button/leather over zipper rather than the Velcro. The Velcro wears out and stops sticking relatively quickly. Very cheap. Please bring back the button with leather strap.

I really like this boot except it does not offer composite toe for women's boots. I love the zip idea. I wish it was offered in the boots I ordered.

Construction appeared to be ok. Had to return due to the tight fit . I've never been a WIDE shoe wearer. Hopefully my next purchase will be a better fit.

I've been buying this product for years, it is a great product with one exception, the sole will come loose after about a year after use. I then have to either glue them back on or make another purchase. Other than that, I love these!

The old model of this boot was great. I work in a machine shop and deal with a lot of oils and steel chips. The sole is only about half wore but the uppers are coming apart after 3 years. That is a great boot in my book. The new boots seem like they have a different insole that is not as comfortable as the old one. Apart from that, these are by far the best work boots I've owned, which has been quite a few. Would have been 5 stars except for the insole change.

Rocky boots last a very long time for me, upwards to 4 years of daily use in my past experience. I wear boots in an office environment (ironically) and go for the AlphaForce, because it is easy to put on and remove as I need and it is black and professional looking. It goes well with my slacks, but are also great outdoor footwear.
I do have a problem with the comfort of the Composite Toe version of this boot specifically though, which I purchased out of safety requirements in the workshop of my workplace. This is the second one I have purchased trying to figure out what works for me, and I am glad I've gone on this "adventure" as I've learned a lot about my foot in the process. My first one was a size 9M (mens), and I discovered very quickly that it was too large for me. As the boot folds when I walk forward, the composite toe edge pushes against the top of my foot, and actually started causing some pretty serious damage as I was trying to "break in" the boots. The boots ended up breaking me. This made me evaluate my previous boots (my last pair being a cheaper brand from a low end sports outlet) which were also size 9m. While my previous pair did have a different internal size to Rocky, those too were too big upon research, and I have discovered that I am likely closer to a 8 wide...
So, now I have 9M boots that I cannot use and will resell used localy... buyers remorse, I do not blame Rocky for not knowing my foot size.
I then purchased 8 wides from Rocky to try, and it IS better, but the break in process has been unnecessarily difficult for me.
Firstly, the back edge above the heel of the boot where the substrate ends at the length of the back created an edge which irritates my heal as I walk. I have been wearing moleskin for weeks now to help me break it in, and I have tried to smooth it out through other methods. I consider this edge to be a flaw in the boot, and I do blame Rocky for it, but in the process of dealing with all of this I discovered that I probably have developed Haglund's Deformity (and possibly Bursitis) through my many years of wearing boots that were ill fitted... this has likely exagerated the effect of the edge.
Secondly, as I have worn these boots for many weeks now, the fold where the hard-toe bends into my foot has become a minor issue again, but I feel that the leather that is the actual material that is folding down and touching the top of my foot will soften over time and will be less of an issue when all is said and done. This is likely a problem with hard toed boots in general, but I wouldn't really know seeing as these are my first experiences with it. I feel this could have been mitigated better by Rocky if they had tapered the hard toe box up a bit, or shaped the edge different, in a way that promotes the leather to fold in a way that does not invade the foot so aggressively.
Thirdly, the shoe strings have a black outside shell, but the core is neon-colorful. Why? This is such a weird choice by Rocky... and only brings unnecessary attention and color to the laces through normal tightening...
Fourthly, my toe next to the pinky to on my right foot has begun to rub unpleasantly against the top-side of the toe box... I've avoided blisters so far, but this one may be what stops me from keeping these boots. I will evaluate my arch to see if my foot is improperly flat, and will compensate as needed with an arch lining or Plantar Fasciitis compression foot sleeves to see if it helps, but if this keeps rubbing the way it is, I will have to pursue other brands of hard-toed boots... or abandon hard toes entirely.
Overall, I give 4 stars because the boot liner on the bottom is comfortable and provides good support, and the overall quality is as solid as I expected. The fact that I have fitting issues is my own fault, but I'm getting tired shelling out a hundred dollars for each trial of a boot (over such a short period of time) that I know will last many, many years. I'm afraid to try 8.5 wides because of my experience with how badly the 9s hurt the top of my foot (it felt like it was breaking my toes), and I feel that it would be too large overall anyways. Buyers remorse mostly, but I really am trying to make these work.

I have my composite toe alphas zip up boots and there great for winter getting through puddles, snow and keeping my feet warm and dry; my only issue is can the same style, color and protection for a summer boot because I work year round in my boots but during the summer my feet pay the price and I'm not allowed to wear sneakers or boots that do not protect you're feet. This being said I'm asking the for a summer boot (composite toe alpha zip up boot) thank you for you're time in reading my review.

Favorite pair of boots - first pair I bought four years ago and still as durable as first day I wore them -- only concern of the new pair ,,due to the manufacturing changes made,, the inside flap around the ankle is very uncomfortable and they are not waterproof as advertised -- my first pair purchased four years ago, that are still as great as the first day worn still are comfortable and waterproof -- Rocky shouldn't have changed anything !!!

I have bought about 12 pairs of these over the years, mainly because they are about the only boot I can wear without killing my feet. I like that they are waterproof, I can step in about 6" of liquids without getting my feet wet. I like the side zip, as they are easy to put on. I wish they had a 6" one of these with the side zip, I would buy them. The downside of these are the welt, they are glued, not sewn, so after about 4-6 months of hard use, they start coming apart down there and are no longer waterproof. They are comfortable, just don't last that long for me.

These are pretty decent boots. Owned the current pair for around 2 months. First time for the composite toe. Always a comfortable boot. These are my 3rd pair. Only problem I have is the composite toe on one boot is already coming through the leather. Other than that they're pretty decent boots and hope the glue on the soles hold up better than the last two pair of boots.

I've had my AlphaForce for about 2 weeks now and overall they are pretty good. The only dislike I have is how much the thickness around the ankle and higher up is compared to many other boots. Other than that I really like the boots!
