These work pretty well. Extraordinarily challenged feet at 54 years of age. I have found them to be waterproof. Also, there is what feels like soft leather aspects. Good ankle support but not too ridged. Not wild about the slight upward slope of the toes. Why? Also, ordered a 1/2 size larger which is ideal. I used Bean bucks and they are returnable. I would recommend them.

I purchased the Oboz Sapphire as a winter walking shoe. It is a very good looking style and I liked the waterproof feature. At the same time I ordered a Lowa shoe. The Lowa was more comfortable than the stiffer feel Oboz - hence returned the Oboz.

I always order 1/2 sizer larger for outdoor/athletic boots/shoes though this shoe seems to be at least a 1/2 smaller and the toe box is really shallow.

I really like this shoe. The fit is perfect and comfortable. I want to buy another pair or two, but have been waiting FOREVER for new colors. I would have bought another pair of two by now, had the colors been updated !!!! Please offer more or new colors. I am really tired of the colors offered, which I already have had for a couple yrs now !! Whats up with not changing your color selections on this style?? This is my only complaint !!!! I would love to see this shoe offered in the navy color of the high top shoe offered. If you changed colors more often, I think you would sell a lot more of this style. I know I would buy more of this style. You can only have so many of this shoe in the SAME COLORS !!

I think they are true to size, however they were just a hair too short, so my big toe kept contacting the front of the shoe. I wanted to love these. Other than just being not quite long enough they fit well and felt sturdy with adequate support. I liked the style of the shoe, the most attractive of the 3 pairs I purchased to try (another Oboz and an Altra). I only got to wear them for a few hours around the house, so I don't know how they would hold up in the real world. Sadly, this was a size 11, and they do not make an 11.5 or 12 in womens. I do wish more manufacturers would make larger womens sizes.

Although it is much more lightweight than the typical Oboz hiker, it's still too heavy for what my bad knees can handle. Incredible lugs and grip, great waterproof technology (my husband loves his Oboz!), great foot protection. Great shoe overall, just not the shoe for me. They've been sitting in the box since I bought them, and I will be returning them.

This is a great shoe--nice and wide, with a great sole (and I have wide feet). My problem is that the stitching from 3 pieces of leather comes together right on top of the large joint beneath my big toe, which is fairly large (but not huge!), and creates a pressure point when my feet swell with hiking. Sadly, I will be returning them.

These shoes are fairly comfortable, especially the foot-bed which is really nice with pronounced arch support. These hikers are a bit shorter than my other 7-1/2 hikers and they are also a bit narrow in the toe-box. Now that I have worn them around the neighborhood, I realize that they cannot be the only shoe I pack for a hiking trip because they are especially tight on the left foot and that is not going to be good for long days on the trail. It's too bad because I really wanted a shoe that is at least water resistant for a week of hiking in a cool damp climate. I have a pair of mesh Merrills and I have an old pair of New Balance hiking shoes that will just be vying to make the trip. It's a shame that these don't quite make it because they are pretty expensive to leave sitting in my closet when the plane takes off. Oh, well!

These are exactly what I am looking for, but they are about half a size too small, and I wear an 11, so there is nothing bigger to try. They provide support and structure, good treads, without being at all bulky. Unfortunately, these will go back and my search continues!

The fit was fine, unfortunately, the area that crosses over my big toe joint is too stiff and causes my big toe to dislocate just putting it on. A very rare issue for most people, but this causes most shoes to be a no go for me. This shoe fit well with my flat arches. My best fitting shoe is a Keen sandal "Rose", but most Keens do not work well for me.

I bought these for a trip to Yellowstone. I wore them in advance a few times to help break them in and they were fine. However, they did not work out on longer hikes. The back of the shoe digs into the achille's tendon in a very painful way. For me at least, they are ok for shopping or other short distances, but not good for hiking, unfortunately.

These shoes are just OKthey fit well with a wide-ish toe box, which I love. They are snug but not tight over my high instep. They have good support and traction BUT they come up too high (for me) on the outside edge and actually have bruised the bottom area of my ankle bone. I'm hoping they'll soften a little with wear. Come to think of it, my rubber bottom-leather tops slip-on's hurt me in the same placemaybe I have low ankles

In general liked these but did not care for the metal eyelets and would prefer more for even tightening. Also the laces don’t feel substantial enough to last.

I really wanted to love this shoe. After many years of Merrell's I wanted something with better waterproofing and that looked better. They have good arch support. Laces are a cool fabric that don't loosen. This shoe was perfect in that regard. So, I bought them anyway even though the reviews mentioned the ankle rubbing. Unfortunately, I had the same experience. I kept them for 3 weeks anyway hoping I could break them in. I hiked for about 40 minutes every day and they never softened. The shoe rubs my ankle bones and it's so uncomfortable. I can't trust them for longer hikes and need to return them. This seems like such a fixable problem on an otherwise awesome shoe! BTW my regular hiking boots (with ankle support) are from the same brand and I LOVE them, so this is really just a trail shoe problem.

These got such rave reviews and they were on back order for 4 months so my hopes were high as I slipped them on my feet. But out of the box they feel bulky and not very comfortable. Not sure if I am going to keep them

I would have liked the arch to have been higher for my plantar fasciitis. I did not like the way the last two eyelets for the laces were made and it did not hook well.

I ordered my regular size 9.5 and exchanged for a 10 because they felt too small. I had to return the 10 as well as it felt too tight. The back tab was really stiff and hurt my ankle in the short period I tried it around the house. The style is really cute though - just not right for me.

I really wanted this shoe to work out for me. I have been trying to find a comfortable shoe I could wear on wet, muddy trails without resorting to boots. This would be a great shoe if it didn't hit the back of my ankle. It would have rubbed so badly for me. I love the overall look of them, and the support felt good for my moderately high arch. They have been returned and I am back to my search.

Liked the look, fit my foot well EXCEPT it seemed like the arch was either too high or placed too far back. Walked around the house a bit and my arches started aching. Back you go!

The're comfortable and I like the look, but the reason I purchased them was because they're waterproof. When I walk in the snow, my feet are wet and freezing. I've tried various types of socks and no luck so far.

I really wanted to like this shoe. It fit my narrow foot nicely. And, the styling is nicer than many light hikers. BUT, the side cut at the ankle was clearly rubbing and that low ankle area has a nice, but stiff, leather border at the top so was unlikely to soften. Also, the arch felt too hard. Not easy to explain, but felt more like a rock than an arch support. It's worth trying, especially if you have narrow feet and high arch.

These shoes are very comfortable for me and I really like them but after wearing them for a month my feet got wet in the toe area from just walking in the wet grass this morning so that is disappointing.

The seams on the shoe gave me pressure points on my feet, which caused issues when hiking. Would not recommend for anyone with wide feet.
