Overall great shoe. I ordered a 9 (my usual size) and feel they are true to size. My only complaint it after wearing them for 4+ hours the bottom of my feet ache. They start to feel like Ive hammered them. I generally wear barefoot sole or minimal shoes. I am not sure why my feet feel like this after wearing them for a few hours, I’ve never experienced this type of pain before, I honestly didn’t think I Would ever have a complaint about shoe soles considering I usually feel the ground through my soles. I’ve ordered some comfort insoles (stock insoles slip right out for easy replacement), I am hoping this solves my aching feet, because I truly love these shoes.

Like others said, these run extremely small - at least a full size smaller than normal. Also, they are narrow and the top of the toe box is low. Awesome foot-bed, but the upper part hurts my feet.

I really liked the style of these shoes and colors. They have a "urban hiking" look. But, the side rubbed my ankles when I walked. The features were great-waterproof, width and padding, but I had to return. I'm going with a water proof Dansko "Paisley" shoe.

The shoes were wider in the toe box then expected, and they came up high around my ankles and rubbed.

I found these inflexible and tippy, especially on uneven terrain. I hike every day on Appalachian trails (3-6 miles) and I have been trying to make these shoes work because there is no returning them. The tongue never is quite flat, instead it arcs so that there is a lot of uncomfortable pressure on the top/side of my feet. Since I began wearing these shoes (now three or so months ago), I have had a permanent sore spot on the inside of both ankles. I thought I could break them in, but they seem as stiff and unresponsive as the day I started hiking in them. Just for reference, I am a 5ft tall woman, who weighs about 100. I would not recommend these shoes.

Perfect. I have a narrow heal and need a slightly wider toe box. The shoe was perfect from the start.

Perfect for walking. Didn’t do any long hiking and loved every minute wearing them. Tricky to get laces just right but it can be done.

Wasn’t sure if the back ankle area would feel better with wear. I liked the look and they had good arch support. I returned them due to ankle fit.

Love these shoes. I am a big fan of Oboz. This is my third pair. These are the most comfortable shoes I own. The have great stability to minimize pronating or supinating, deep ridges in the sole are perfect for the trail and they are waterproof. The only thing I don't like about these shoes is the metal lace catcher at the top of the laces. It's easier to just have a hole to put the lace through. The shoes are great for everyday wear, and the laces are more square and not subject to untying while walking around.

I'm on a quest for a pair of light hiking shoes and these were almost it. They are nice looking, I found them to be true to size, and they seem to be very well made. The soles were very grip, they seemed to have a good amount of support and cushioning for walking. Unfortunately they rubbed the outside of my ankle bones, the other pair of Oboz that I tried, the Bridger Low, rubbed in the same place, so back they went (thanks Zappos!). But overall I was impressed and would try this brand again next time I'm looking for hikers.

I have the full boot version of this hiker - it's the BEST hiking/all around waterproof boot I've ever had. I ordered this one in the hopes of a summer-weight version and (oops) didn't realize that this is also waterproof. I returned it and will look again. No complaints about the boot though!

I love the look of these hikers and the support is excellent especially in the arch. I haven't taken them on the trails yet but I can tell that they will hold up and the support won't give out quickly. For a hiking shoe it's light weight and I'll be wearing these babies in the city as well as on the trails. I'm in between a 10.5 and 11 with medium width and the 11 fits me nicely with a mid weight sock. Plenty of room in the toe box without that boxy look. The insoles are very comfortable.

I really like Oboz. These are my third pair and they are as great as the other styles I have. I have several foot and joint issues and usually need to swap out the inner soles of the shoes I buy. But not with Oboz. I can wear them as they come. This style looks more like a chunky street/walking shoe but still delivers the positive structure, stability and support that I need. I especially like the lacing system that allows the shoe to open right up when unlaced making it easier to get on and off. I’m glad I got them.

I love this shoe!! Haven’t actually hiked in them but of all the many shoes I tried on these were the most comfie. I’ve had the Oboz Sawtooth and really like those also, but these have a little more give.

I have narrow,AAA, heels and a slightly wide forefoot, low volume ( and about 1 size difference in feet- with the rt larger). These work for me - I wanted a sturdy shoe which didn't look as gargantuan as the Sawtooth. There are two possible problems which might become issues on a long hike: the sides come up a little too close to my anklebones - so far the socks have protected the areas from rubbing. The other is that adjusting the laces to snug the heel in does tend to pull down on the top of the foot. as someone else noted, with just four eyelets, there isn;t a lot of room for trying different lacing techniques As to whether there is enough vertical toe room - for me, yes - but I have long bony feet. Of you have a high volume foot - or wide feet, I do not think these will work. I note that someone tried these and ended up with Salomons. I have found every Salomon shoe to have very wide heels and those impossible to wear. That heel width thing -- and the space at the all of the foot - are the key things which have to work in shoes to make them wearable fro me. I wish every manufacturer would provide that information. Now as much as I love Zappos, I ended up buying this pair in another, brick and mortar, store because I knew I really had to try them on. It is so difficult to get the right sizes when there is no consistency.

These are great hikers and daily walking shoe. I am buying a second pair just in case they stop making them. I did add a Dr. Sholl's sort of insole because my foot is narrower than most. I felt the toe box was amply cut (I like a big toe box) and the laces keeps my foot in place. Super, super comfy. Sizing was perfect. I wear a smaller dress shoe, but this was the same as all my sneakers.

Finally, after trying and sending back I-don't-know-how-many shoes, I've found a keeper! Been looking for something for 3-5 mile walks in our Pacific NW neighborhood, so waterproof was high on the list. I have narrow feet, esp. in the heel, so hard to fit. And a lot of walking shoes seem to bother my knees. I first ordered these in my regular 7.5. Although the length and width were good, the arch was hitting farther back on the foot than was comfortable. Sized up to an 8 and that did the trick with thicker socks. After giving them a good tryout inside for several days in a row, I've now worn them outside on walks and things are great. My feet stay put! My feet stay dry!! No knee pain!!!

I have the tall! They are great, but decided one pair is enough and will return. But the taller version is also the best walking/hiking shoes ever, get a pair !

After struggling with foot pain (plantar fasciitis) and trying many inserts over the last year, these boots saved my feet! I can walk / stand again! I purchased a pair I tried in Montana, and after a week purchased a 2nd pair. Love the fit, support and comfort. I have high arches, and feet are a little wide. Cute too!

Unlike others, I ordered my usual size (10) and found it to fit perfectly. These are extremely light and comfortable, with superior arch support. And they are CUTE! The merlot color is elegant and cheerful. I hadn't heard of Oboz before this purchase, but am a fan! (In fact, I'm so much of a fan that I purchased another pair after this one!)

The only negative about these which was enough for me to send them back is that they are very bulky/heavy on the foot. There wasn't a lot of room to move my toes and the shoe itself was very formed and rigid, especially in the front. They are comfortable and offer nice support throughout the foot. For the price, I opted to go with a different brand just because of the toe area. They are beautiful and I appreciate the aesthetics of this shoe.

The Oboz Sapphire Low BDry, for me, was not comfortable at all. Immediately when I put the hiking shoe on, the front part of the shoe felt like it was upturned (not flat on the ground) and hurt to even stand in the shoe. I also ordered the Columbia Dakota Drifter Waterproof, and the Salomon Outline GTX and ended up keeping the Salomon.

This is my 4th pair of Oboz Shapphire hiking boots in 6 years. I walk and hike in them every day of the year through snow, ice, deserts, mountains and our local sidewalks. The fit is perfect for my high arch, narrow heel and give my toes enough room to breathe. The sole is thick enough to go over rocks, but light enough to not weigh me down. They are the perfect boot!!!
