Cushy, comfy and warm. I have large/plus size calves and wear an 8.5W or 8.5WW in shoes and the M fit great! Wearing them for a trip to the Finnish Arctic this winter so I'll edit my review if anything changes.

I love everything about these socks. I WISH DARN TOUGH WOULD MAKE SLIPPER SOCKS. THEN ALL MY PRAYERS WOULD BE ANSWERED!!!

I purchased the correct size for my wife and she said they are nice and warm. The reason for the mediocre grade is they don't stay up where they belong.

I am so happy with these socks! They fit perfectly, and I don't want to take them off. . . ever. . . They are perfect for Minnesota winters. I have some UGG boots that are a little too big that make these a perfect match. I also have some Dr Martens that have zero cushion, and these make them more wearable/comfortable. I love these socks! Well worth the money.

These may be the best pair of socks I have ever had. They are plush and supportive without being constricting. I wear a 9 1/2 womens wide, and have bigger calves so I opted for a size large. They are perfect- stopping just below my knees. I wear these on 24 hour shifts at the hospital and they are exponentially more comfortable than compression socks but give me almost the same support. Wish they came in more colors/patterns but other than that theyre 10/10.

I was happy to find quality over the calf merino wool hiking socks for those cold winter days. These socks are just what I was looking for. Great quality. Perfect fit.

Bought for my wife to use on colder hiking days and she absolutely loves them protects her feet and keeps her lower leg warm.

The color was as expected from the pictures online. Socks were very comfortable, went up to my knee and very warm on my first winter hike.

These socks are very comfortable. The wool has a soft feel - not at all itchy. Nice support for my leg and cushion for my sole. Great fit. Very happy with purchase.

Warm and full cushion. Perfect for the coldest of winter days. Have the other mountaineering socks but also wanted an over the calf version. Perfect.

Wow, is all I can say. I have 3 other socks that I love & wear almost daily. I can truly say I was so impressed when I opened the bag to these socks. So thick, so much cushion, so soft- I better buy more, because I may never take these socks off. thanks

I love these socks. These are replacements for several pairs I bought almost 10 years ago. I wore them year round. They were not sweaty in the summer. I wear them inside my rubber boots in the snow. They stay up. I dont like the feel of socks sliding down!

I am in love with Darn Tough Socks. I bought a few different styles as a gift for myself this Christmas and honestly I love them all. These over the calf socks are thick and warm and cushiony. They still easily fit into my boots though. They fit snuggly over my calf and do not slip or fall down. They do not itch. Just yesterday we took a walk in 33degree weather. I had these socks on but only wore a thin pair of jogging pants. The difference in temperature regulation of where the socks covered my legs and where they didnt was extremely noticeable. My calves and feet were warm and cozy while the rest of my lower half was getting bitten by the wind. Highly recommend any sock from Darn Tough. You are paying for quality and craftsmanship and comfort and it is so worth it. (This is from someone whose wardrobe is 90% thrift store finds).

This is my second pair of these, they are the only socks I wear hiking in winter. I love that they dont ride down and they keep my feet warm and dry and have cushion bottoms.

I'm from California and needed professional advice on which socks to order for my Canadian winter boots for our trip to Switzerland. I just received these in the mail; they are warm, thick, and fit perfectly in my new boots. Of course, I'm still in warm 47 California, so I'll write another review when we return! ;-)

I've got three pairs of these socks now, and I basically wear them all the way through winter. They're perfect: warm and cozy, and cushiony enough to keep me happy on my feet even through long days (indoors and out) without being bulky. They also stay in place beautifully, never slipping down or bunching-up. Best socks ever made? Unequivocally.
