These socks are well made. I expect they will last a long time. I bought the medium as I am a size 9 shoe but after washing they have shrunk. I have never put them in the dryer. They are now a bit tight. Must be the merino wool shrunk. I will get the large next time.

I will continue to buy these socks because they are the highest quality sock I've ever owned. However, the height of the crew is too short. Please make them taller, at least to the calf, even knee highs would work for me. I don't want my bare leg showing when I sit and my pants ride up. These are the ONLY socks that I do not wear out the heels.

I bought these because I had bought 6 pairs a few years ago and they are still going strong. These don't seem quite as thick as the other ones but they are still very warm. Still worth the money for anyone who has cold feet in the winter.

Comfortable and warm. I really like the style of the sock, the height and the fact that it comes by size. I will say though that the first pair I purchased became my favorite pair of socks on day 1 but the next couple of pair I bought was quite snug. ???

These socks have the perfect amount of cushion, with great support. Only downside is they are a bit small. According to the chart, their size small is for up to a size 7 foot. I'm 6.5 so these should have been perfect in a small, but alas they are TOO small. They still get the job done, but I'll definitely get a medium next time.

I wear anywhere from an 8.5 - 9.5 so I got the medium thinking they'd fit great. Definitely too small. If you wear anything larger than an 8 in women's shoes you should probably size up to a large.

Moderate itch around ankle on initial wearing; ok after first wash.

My favorite socks for hiking! Moisture-wicking wool keeps feet dry, seamless toe doesn't rub uncomfortably, and slight cushion adds comfort on a long hike.

I love the way darn tough socks fit in the foot area! The calf part is too tight for me. I will use them for hiking but they are too uncomfortable to wear every day because of the calf compression.

Comfortable and warm except they don't wick away moisture. Not happy about the price and those results.

I purchased the navy pair like these. The socks are very comfortable and fit great. I ordered a size 6 and I wear a 6 - 6.5 shoe. They are great in winter boots and keep my feet warm. (They would probably make a regular shoe be too snug.) I also like the navy color. The lower rating is because they have pills all over them after several washings.

I ordered a medium size in these Darn Tough socks because the smalls have been too small. (I wear a size 6 - 6 1/2 shoe. The mediums are huge! I plan to exchange them at the store for a small.

Fit strangely. I wear a 9.5/10 so am in between sizes either too big or small… these had a lot of room left in toe (L) yet were extremely tight around my ankles so as to cut off circulation and I have normal size ankles! Disappointed

I received a different pair of socks from the pair I ordered, so I returned them. I had a $5 reward credit, which I lost in the transaction. Frustrating!

Great sock, however, after washing a few times in cold water and line drying the socks feel like they shrunk. My other Darn Tough socks that are more of a light cushion sock have held up very well and no shrinkage. They are still very comfortable but I usually take them off after a walk/hike because they fit snug now.

I was expecting something more. They are fine but not exceptional.

Okay socks, but not as thick as I expected. Tend to get "eaten" by shoes.

This pair only lasted about four months before getting a hole on top of where the toes are. They were only worn a half dozen times or so. I call it a flaw in the material and hope that is all it is as expensive as they are.

I thought that these socks were going to be the same as previous pairs of Darn Tough I had purchased but they are not as thick and the cuff is shorter so I am disappointed.

I love Darn Tough socks. The material is always comfortable and durable. I was a little disappointed by these socks, however. They barely fit my feet and are too tight around my calves and ankles. They're good for running some errands in the cold but not for a full day of outdoor activities. The gray/teal/green color combo is great though! Size ordered: M (only size available for this product), LLBean defined M as women's shoe size 7.5-9.5 My usual shoe size: 9.5 (The website is requiring I select an "item" but the fields next to the checkboxes are blank. I hope this review shows up with the correct product.)

I have such thin legs that my nickname was toothpick! I ordered a size large and have to return these because they are unbearably tight on my foot and legs. They are very well made and I sure wish they fit correctly.

Soft yet sturdy socks in nice colors. My disappointment is they seem a bit short. And they slip down a bit which accentuates the shortness. I compared to another very similar style sock I purchased recently and these are about 1/2 inch shorter. I don't have thin legs, actually probably a bit thicker in ankle and calf than most so am surprised at slipping. Haven't worn long enough to comment on durability.

item description says machine wash and dry, but i washed in cold water and dried at low and they shrank.
