Most comfortable (and decently warm) socks for winter hiking. Worth the price.

Favorite socks. This is my husbands favorite style.

I am a very happy camper. I purchased a pair of socks while in Canada (about two years ago) and I was sure the package indicated they were Darn Tough Vermont Merino Wool over the calf socks, but when I put the socks on I noticed they said Smartwool not Darn Tough. I just assumed that was Canadian Darn Tough instead of Vermont. I wore holes in the soles and returned them to Darn Tough for warranty replacement and the first reply was to deny my claim; they politely told me the socks were not Darn Tough socks. But about one week later another person from Darn Tough Warranty Department got back to me and very generously agreed to replace the socks anyway, including free shipping and no tax! OUTSTANDING CUSTOMER SERVICE . What companies go that far to satisfy a customer? Darn Tough has won my undying loyalty for life. Even before this incident I stopped buying all other socks. I am all in for Darn Tough Morino Wool socks made in Vermont.

Fit and comfort are beyond comparison. Love the cushioning.

Not warm at all

With the extreme cold in the mid Atlantic in January, having these was a major help. I'm used the the DT midweight socks keeping me normally warm but they couldn't keep up. My daughter bought them as well for much the same reason.

Wow just in time for the arrival of subzero temperatures these socks arrived just in time! Warm comfortable and extremely well made only boot socks I will wear for comfort and durability

This is my first over-the-calf sock from Darn Tough. WOW! They slide onto my foot and right up my calf. So comfortable and warm in the cold winters here in Maine. I'll definitely be picking up another pair or two to wear under my snow boots.

A little to stretchy. Your hunting socks stay up better and fit tighter. But still best socks out there

Completely satisfied with these socks! I have neuropathy in my feet and stand for long periods of time at work. These socks were so comfortable! I can't tell you how much they have helped me. Very durable also!

I owe multiple pair of Darn Tough Over-the-Calf Mountaineering socks, model 1955. They're used for ice climbing, mountaineering, skiing and absolutely love them. (Yes, for skiing. I prefer the additional warm and comfort of having uniform thickness throughout. ). Being over the calf they offer additional warmth and some level of compression. Seems like the loft improves after washing making them more comfortable. These are my go to socks for the above mentioned activities and recommend them on a regular basis. These are the best in my opinion.

Bought this pair for my father, who is a Pennsylvania outdoors person including hunting. I have bought many pairs of the dress and athletic socks and highly recommend them to everyone. This pair did not disappoint with the large size, thick weave, and high quality. Merino wool is a must for any sock for comfort, durability, and sweat reduction.

They were a Christmas gift for my Grandson and he is thrilled with them.

I have 5 pairs of these socks and have used them during the last 6 winters. They are still going strong. On a side note, I had a different model of DT socks wear out in the heel. The return process was perfect!

These are fantastic socks that always feel great. The best cold weather socks I have ever found and are also great for just lounging around the house on a cold winters day. Highly recommended!

This is the second pair of these I have purchased for gifts for my hiking friends. They are very happy with them.

I bought these for my husband and they are his favorite socks. He works outside all year and his feet get cold in the winter. . . but not anymore. He said they are super comfortable and never fall down. Best socks ever!

Great heavyweight sock that stays up all day.

Purchased these for my son for Christmas he hasnt gotten them yet, but from the feel of them Im sure they will be what he needs. Hes planning on taking a 300 mile hike on the Appalachian trail. So they will be put to the test!
