There are wool socks that contain some wool and socks that contain plenty of wool. These socks have plenty of wool yet are weaved in a way that provided durability. I find the quality high and they have been darn tough so far. Love the available designs as well. I use these for significant waling and hiking (and they are so comfortable they sometimes end up in casual wear or used with work boots.

I am age 70. I have worn these socks twice. Best I have ever felt- they breathe and don't itch. I will see how they last but other Darn Tough have been worth the expense. It makes a big difference to have feet that feel this good.I wear leather shoes as synthetics often don't breathe. My US Army mountain boots (which I wear as a civilian) and other shoes feel very good with these socks- no hot or confined feeling, and feet just glide with these socks. One gets older and feet seem to feel less comfortable with poly and other materials.

I've purchased and worn the Darn Tough merino wool, micro crew, lightweight cushion sock for some time now. I purchased this midweight cushion pair to try they out for more rigorous hiking. As much as I liked the lightweight, I think from this point on, I'll be buying the midweight cushion socks. That little extra cushioning is a nice step up. Great colors too.
